...taking away powers from the reputation system? Is this the solution to power creep? Seriously, I worked for that $#!+. ALL of it, not just the half (or less) you've left us. You've made this game like a job with all the grinding, then you remove the fruits of long hours of labor. Fleets- endless rep - events - all of these things become an investment in our characters. They have value based on the time players have invested into making them the best they can each according to their desire & commitment. Then, once they can blow through an elite STF mission in under 5 minutes, you decide to reboot. Well, we played along with the game, but I'm thinking it's time for a break. This isn't a Dooom thread; it's just me. Lots of folks in my fleet were still happily distracted by the shiny new things they saw, so I'm sure you won't suffer any. It's just "some" of your players that will. I'll probably come back, but for now, I'll be on something else a whole lot more.
Having all the Rep powers on all the time was just the same as overusing A2B/Marion/BFAW. The game did all the thinking for a player and became just a variant on Whack-A-Mole with a Starfleet magic hammer.
pwe/cryptic took away the magic hammer and now people are complaining about having to lift the hammer for themselves and actually aim at the mole. The new system offers a challenge in that I can no longer take everything I think I am going to need. I have to be a little picky and tailor the Traits to what my toon is doing currently.
I personally have no problem with the new system. I finished the first three Reps on three toons under the old system and I do not feel slighted or taken advantage of because other people who did so after me didn't suffer. This is a ridiculous idea to apply to a game and smells to high heaven of a badly over developed sense of self entitlement. If people are going to stop playing STO after throwing a public hissy fit over a change such as this in the game, the rest of us are probably all better off in the long run, aren't we?
A six year old boy and his starship. Living the dream.
most everyone would have been much happier with 8 lesser passives than with 4 powerful ones
Jellico....Engineer ground.....Da'val Romulan space Sci
Saphire.. Science ground......Ko'el Romulan space Tac
Leva........Tactical ground.....Koj Romulan space Eng
JJ-Verse will never be Canon or considered Lore...It will always be JJ-Verse

No, most people would have been happier with the choice to actually rub 2 brain cells together and come up with 4 passives that match your build, rather than blindly take every new one they throw at you, which is what we have, and I am glad we do.
The rep revamp is a welcome change. All tracks are easier to grind, switching traits at will is nice and I eagerly await a new fleet holding to allow me to go to 5 active traits.
The only thing I'd ask them to do is allow us to turn in Mk X and XI rep gear for XII, or allow us to upgrade them. I know a few people with incomplete sets.

People do that a lot. I don't know how they justify it.
Time to get weaned off the Power Creep.
