You know what? Surface Tension was so awesome it managed to make me forget about the lockboxes. I must go back to it before they resurface into my mind.

    I know, right?

    That thing is INCREDIBLE.

Tacofangs, you are one AMAZING dude. THANK YOU!!!!!

Surface Tension is one of the best pieces of storytelling STO has produced in recent memory. And the new ESD looks amazing.

ok quick update (and work around)

dont login via arc or the launcher

go directly to th gameclient.exe and run it.. the game will not crash to desktop then and you'll be able to login via the game internally.

should help for those who were havng the same problem as i

alas though it seems the account server is timing out (at least over here in the UK)

Doesn't work for me, not sure about others...still getting the crash, even with load in safe mode.

...for kicking the last homogenic star trek atmosphere. The ESD Uniforms not longer free standard uniforms (now Fleet Reputation) instead of Sierra und Antares before. I never really pissed off since beta like this time, now you have finished this. Shame on you, for destroying good work (ESD Redesign and Season 9) with some incompentent solutions. I am really frustrated about this restricted optic choice now.

Issues that I have seen so far:

--My Romulan (KDF-aligned) can't get armor visuals on her KHG armor anymore. :( I mean, I REALLY liked those visuals.

--Undine lockbox is an epic fail.

--Iconians are laughably OP. I wanted to be able to shoot that skinny TRIBBLE.

--Surface Tension may cause heart attacks from pure awesome.

I think they actually accidentally switched the prices of the Hirogen armor and mini-planet-killer. But I'm not gonna test if it's only a visual mistake or not.

EDIT: Apparently, it's not just visual, which makes it worse.

With regard to the KHG armor, did you try to go to the tailor and putting it on your character?

Haven't unlocked the costume option; talking about the basic armor visual only. But thanks!

So, IS Cryptic going to credit my account back the ADDITIONAL 40 Thousand (40,000) EC times 4 (that's a total of 160,000 EC) for the 2 Romulan Rep projects & the 2 Nukara Rep projects that I had ALREADY spent the equivalent EC on via Vendor consumables and commodities?

    For:

Mk XII Romulan Space Set - Deflector (40,000 ADDITIONAL EC that I had to spend)

Mk XII Romulan Space Set - Shield (40,000 ADDITIONAL EC that I had to spend)

Hyper Compressed Cryo Launcher Mk XII (40,000 ADDITIONAL EC that I had to spend)

Refractive Nanofiber Personal Shield Matrix Mk XII (40,000 ADDITIONAL EC that I had to spend)

Total= 160,000 ADDITIONAL EC that I had ALREADY spent via Consumables & Commodities.

Cryptic, YOU ARE IN THE RED and owe me 160,000 Energy Credits.

    Thank-you in advance:)

To ANY fellow players that feel/think/whatever that I am wrong in this; ESPECIALLY since I had already filled up the EC requirements on those 4 still currently active projects (and yes 160,000 EC can easily be recouped in game, but that's not the point), You Need Not Respond To This Post. Thank-you in advance as well ;)

I will say this in Cryptic's defense, THANK GOODNESS that the Dilithium that I had already spent wasn't ALSO reset --- wheew!!!

You mean that chaos of hundrets different NPC's wearing dozens of different Uniforms like on a Pyjama Party?

Its great that they finally have all NPC's wearing the same design... and the Odyssey template looks a 100 times better then the Sierra and Antares Leather & Lace Suits...

That's not the problem. The problem is that the npc armor isn't longer free as sierra or antares before. At ESD, that's not the odyssey template it's the Fleet Reputation Uniform for the NPCs.
And the Odyssey template is the c-store jupiter uniform. That's the point.
Sure both, Sierra and antares, are even not my favorite uniforms since beta, but free standards for optic equality in this game (esd, ship/npcs). And there is no equal uniform in c-store to get the new esd optic uniform touch. the one, of other owned costumes, as starfleet acdemy, isn't the same.
It's simply inacceptable to get reputations and forced to spend time for an standard game uniform.

And since beta the dynamic npc uniform rendering, equal as active bridge officers wear, not included yet.
The current for free or minimum in c-store and fleets get a new one for reputation, ready.

Tacofangs, I can't get into your zone in-game to say this personally, but...

ESD is your Ninth Symphony. An artistic triumph of really epic beauty.

    JFC.

I'm just walking around in there, and it is so unrealistically beautiful...

And the FE is stupidly awesome. Just incredibly epic, like the DS9 finale.

I'm pinching myself every five minutes to remind myself that this is real.

I didn't find the new mission bad but it definitely has some filler. The whole running around assigning security and telling delegates to take their seats was a complete boring waste of time. From the point of heading through the gate to try and save ESD was fun but way too easy for elite. The ground portion on elite was more of a challenge thankfully. Over all, it's good but I felt like it could have been better.

    The Featured mission was awesome.

It was definitely the best one so far... except for the part where there was a cut scene in last space fight, and when it was over so was my shield and most of my ship health. :P

    New spacedock looks fantastic.

I'm still in awe of this entire season. The rep trait changes, meh. Undine failbox? Please, retroactively remove that.

Everything else, and I do mean literally everything?

    HELL. YES.

I'm replaying the FE on my Fed. So much awesome...

That FE is perfect. Completely perfect. The new ESD is Tacofangs' answer to Mahler Nine, which may be the perfect piece of music. The rep streamlining is awesome, and the kit changes are great. Cosmetic changes are even more fun.

    Epic Cryptic win.

I love the new esd, but hate the trait changes. Why did anyone think reducing the traits was a good idea?

I understand we can pick and choose what is active without needing a respec but I'd rather have the old way back for traits.

The visual changes are sweet, the new mission was epic, then we have the trait changes.

Seems many agree that the last one is the only problem, but its a problem that is again a slap in the face to people that actualy play this game.

I've been around in this game a long time, maybe im too long in the tooth for this kinda change, but it effects the game not only in a negative way, but makes players that work hard in game feel as though they are being punished for actually grinding the rep system.

Said my peace, I love the community here, I think its great, I'm just tired of feeling as though we are being punished for accomplishing something here.

Really can't figure out what they've done to the graphics. On my laptop with Intel(r)HD graphics (which could previously render the game at high detail) I can now only get blurry graphics.

I don't get it, the graphics don't change, regardless of what I change the graphics and advanced settings to. The HUD/UI elements look totally normal, but the game graphics themselves are just terrible!
