So you're beamed aboard a ship...

lets play a little game shall we? this is purely for fun, nothing will come of this XD

if today, in real life, you were randomly beamed aboard a Avenger class starship along with 400 other people from STO, but the ship was completely abandoned. its fully functional, has everything you'd expect a starfleet avenger to have, but there's absolutely no one on the ship, and no reason for it being above modern day earth.

you, as a real life person, what do you do with your fellow 400 other humans who are familiar in some degree or another with star trek? remember you were JUST beamed aboard. you dont know why or how. IT JUST HAPPENED.

Hmm, I would search around, make sure there is absoltely no one aboard, then start experimenting with the comms to contact someone planetside and tell them that we will now go colonize a planet with hopefully more common sense than Earth itself. Do a sort of Romulan Diaspora thing, just minus the religous turmoil and being forced to do so.

Explore a bit, determine who's on board, find out what they're up to and figure out the best means of dealing with the ship itself. If it proves to be too dangerous of a situation I would gather like-minded people and attempt to beam everyone off and scuttle the ship.

wonder if the existence of star trek is a conspiracy against me personally and run into the captain's ready room to curl up into a ball (with added rocking back and forth)

Make sure the ship is clear, then take over the world. I would succeed where pinky and the brain failed!

I would wake up and lay off the coffee for a few days. :D

Failing that, check myself into the psychiatric ward. :P

Okay, seriously? I'd probably try to get back home. I can see it now!

I'm in the transporter room by a console.

Random guy: Are you sure you know what you're doing?

Me: Sure! I saw O'Brien do this on TNG hundreds of times! I just run my fingers up these three columns, and 'vroooom'!

Random Guy: Right... Why don't we see if we can figure the comm systems out instead, huh?

    :D

If you're one of the 400, then yes. If we can figure out the transporter, we can even take more and exchange those that don't want to leave. We will take only the best, including the original 400, despite their skills.

I'd try to initiate the Self-Destruct ASAP, before anyone tried to inevitably abuse the ships abilities. Enjoying everybody raging about how I ruined their potential fun would be a nice bonus.

I'd get to the bridge first, sit in the captains chair and then broadcast this message to everyone on the ship: "Hello, since I got to the bridge first and am sitting in the captain chair, I call dibs on being captain. Now the first person who gets to the bridge will be first officer, second person will be second officer and third person will be chief engineer. If I am not happy with your skills or qualifications for the job, then you will be beamed back to earth to an island in the Pacific ocean, once I figure out how to use the transporter. As a rule that I am adding, nobody shall press any buttons without knowing what they do, only food and soap shall be made with the replicators in your quarters, everyone must wash their hands and sanitize after they touch something strange, no making out in the corridors and turbolifts, only hand holding is allowed in the bar. All personal/private matters with other crewmembers shall take place in their quarters while being directly monitored by me (evil laugh). And if you happen to want to kill me now then I came prepared."

(Goes over and grabs a phaser rifile out of a locker).

You're assuming you'd know how to use the comms.

Or a phaser rifle, for that matter.

I saw Worf and Picard do it plenty of times.:D To access the comm just start pressing buttons on the armrest until you hear a chirp or a whistle sound.

Assess situation. Localize centers and postulate system functions to the best of my understanding (assuming I would not be aware of such matters). In doing so I'd parallel assess my crew with their relevant skill sets that might show up when doing a ship-wide sweep of systems. Delegate secondary authorities and create temporary teams (to be later strictly organized). Create a basic command and communications structure. Meet up with secondary heads of teams and develop a basic plan. Execute.

    Your move?

You do relalize, good sir, that there is a seperate armory on the ship with bigger, badder, more powerful weapons that could blow you and the bridge to hell? That, and there is a secondary bridge. Also, there is probably personal sheild generators in afore mentioned armory.

Well, someone could bring a phaser to said meeting of secondary team heads, shoot you and declare themselves captain (not me, I'd most likely be a medical officer and want nothing to do with the command or tactical thing), then another shoots him, and the whole Mongolian 'Well-whos-Khan-now?' thing happens and the ship becomes a battleground for multiple factions and almost everyon dies, and those that are left are not enough to do anything with the ship. Pessimistic veiw of your plan right there.

In that case I would break my first rule by replicating more weapons and shields instead of soap unless.......a soap mine!

after the curled up rocking back and forth in the captain's ready room, i'd compose myself, calmly, and intensely rip off the captain's chair from its bolted state and slam it into the lookout window over and over again (doorbell chimes would go unnoticed)

    soooooo....

so far we have several people making a mad dash for the bridge for captain role, one or two people wanting to play in the captain's quarters, one or two people strolling around for a holodeck, and then the rest being the only useful people and assessing the situation all vulcan like XD

    PLOT TWIST!

the stations on the bridge and in several other areas on the ship start to beep. the few people that can understand what's going on will have to figure out the sensors. if you succeed, you discover that long range sensors detect alien ships headed your way.

    What do you do now?

i would try to use the comsystem to contact the alien ships and only rasie shields and arm all weapons(if one has figures out how they work)if i am attacked

but before that senario i would access the sitation and put people where they have the most experience and me myself would be the chief tactical/helm officer with the rank of commander instead of me being the captain

Go to the shuttle bay and start trying to figure out how to fly one. And maybe try to open the shuttle bay doors.

    1. use the computer to find my way to the nearest display
    2. Look up in the ships database the ship instruction manual (first of all learning how to use a PADD and tricorder)
    3. Expect others who have been beamed aboard have charged off to the bridge/are killing each other klingon style to be boss so use the computer to find routes without any potential threats
    4. Download as much data as possible to my PADDS (deleting the manuals, ect if possible)
(4b - take a detour to get any useful gear such as armor, personal shields, ect)
    5. Find a way to get off the ship
    6. Sell some of the data to friendly governments, keeping some back for insurance using the superior technology to run rings around the current methods of tracking and suveillance
    7. Live a wealthy life after donating the medical and tricorder to advance science (oh, and the plans for replicators)

..Meanwhile the wannabe captains have fought each other for position, only to find that the world below is scared witless by the events going on and so will either invade/destroy the ship (as we have seen in sto, fling enough nukes at a shield and it will fail)

As to the alien issue...chances are the ship will be a floating debris field before it gets there - and if not...well, with the downloaded data and enough governmental resources, they should be able to knock together a phaser array fairly easily or a photon torpedo or three

Here's the thing self destruct requires voice activation, plus authorization code. Can't blow up the ship by pressing random buttons on the captain's chair.
