http://imgur.com/a/4jRiw#5 That's a screenie of the current armor stats for ground. The Dyson armor is the only one that can even compare with it, it's got some very insane resistances and the +30% physical damage is just too much. The rest of the stats are too great a boost as well compared to the Honor Guard/MACO armor. The armor that was previously the "best" ground physical damage armor was in all fairness and logic the Shatter Harmonics Tholian set. Seen it lately? Compared it to this one? Yeah, why the heck should you still grind out that set then? Sword is still pretty I suppose but that's it.
Sorry, overlooked your post yesterday because I was baking. All my mains are melee specialist tacs and don't care for that armor at all. Advanced fleet integrated targeting armor is better. If I want to melee, I'm either running at enemies while shooting or hitting them if I have reached them. No time for rolling around in the dirt and the crit chance helps with all my damage.
Space set which I suppose is most important to people then:
On this page please note the 2nd picture and look at the deflector array. Granted it's "minor" stats aren't really that uber OP however they do knock the living light out of the previous sets. +5% Accuracy is also a bit dubious on this item alone. I'm not advocating a general nerf of this item mind you, I'd just like to see bonuses and stats like these on other items be they set or fleet items. +5% Acc to ALL weapons is a severe bonus to give from a deflector array alone.
Also mind the console on the same picture, the Hydrodynamics Compensator. True, the flat bonuses to Aux and Engine power aren't too mindblowing but take a little look at the other stats that it buffs up. Again a accuracy boost. Yes it's a seperate set then the space engines, deflector and shield set but still it again adds a nice boost to Acc. The flight turn ratio makes it a fairly darn good addition as well. The only console I can think of that can throw in a balance measure is the Romulan console. Again, not advocating a nerf, merely trying to show that the other consoles could do with a much needed boost, not the little dabble we've seen so far on some of the sets.
Doesn't look op to me. I'm probably going to get it for the Galaxy-X captain I barely play but otherwise...
Okay, it starts to look like the only reason to level Undine rep for most of my chars is to get a Mk XII kit frame.... Way to go Cryptic you made the Undine rep even lamer than Nukara.

Oh well, time will tell is usually the best approach to it all. I've peeked around on tribble again today and did notice some small changes compared to the pics I outlined. It's something the we'll have to learn to live with, I'm just hoping that some day the older sets get a much needed boost as well, I've always loved Tholian tech and it's a shame that it's pretty TRIBBLE in the current version of the game.
Right before all of you start throwing tomatoes at me hear me out;
All I can really say about this is I've read over a hundred angry posts from players who swear up and down, left and right, that they have ZERO incentive to grind the Undine rep.
None. Zilch. Nada.
So if they are to be believed, then this Undine gear is underpowered or evenly powered and folks will just ignore it and maintain their Omega rep Fleet hybrid combos.
Because there's no incentive. At all.
I even replied to quite a few of those posters suggesting that the Undine rep gear would be quite the incentive. At least to me. And was soundly thrashed and put down for my insolence.
So trust me, the players on these forums:
1- SUCK at math
2- Want nothing to do with Undine Rep
3- Will need to have Borg 2 pc pried out of their loadout's cold, dead hands before ever trying this gear.
Or, you know, they're totally full of it.
And once pioneers like you start utilizing this gear because it looks amazing, they'll rally around the Undine rep.
But for now ... NO incentive yo! NONE!
hahahahahahahahahah
For me? It's really all about 15% phaser damage boost for two of my builds because I've stuck with phasers all this time on those toons.
not sure but one of these threads said that the phaser and disruptor damage increases were removed
I hope not

The additional proc of the new hybrid phasers and disruptors. 2.5% chance to slow the enemy down and do radiation damage after a few seconds if they don't cleanse it. Super effective against Undine.

Seems kind of meh, only if other weapons from rep. have same proc, maybe, maybe 3-piece set, will have to test it.
Is it one time rad. damage or per second until ET is applied ?

From what I've read, having not been on tribble (don't care much for the hour long patch for a server I'll only use once) the undine rep items are geared towards the undine, in that they do significant damage to undine ships, but are either average or below average against everything else. How about instead of just throwing your opinion out there, you support your claims with stats? And I disagree that other sets need to be improved regardless. Theres already way too much power coming out of them as is. There's no need to make it worse.
I don't find those set op. The engine with the turn rate is interesting, and the console to (turn rate increase in uni slot ? Interesting). But loosing the borg set for it, that's a no.
As for the set itself, it's meh. 2 active skill with a 2m CD is a bit useless IMO. The accuracy is good, as the defense, but it's not worth it IMO.
Now, in pvp, it may be interesting, for the AP resistance, the anti heal proc (goodbye HE), and all that, but for pve ? Situational at best.
As for having a rep set better than fleet, as mentioned in the first OP post, well, that would be cool. Because you need much more resources to begin with, because you can't leech someone else rep (while you can for a fleet store), and you can't leech others work. And thus, you spend more, you should have more.
But our wallets are in the way, and fleet player spend more RL money.
Honestly, when reading on that set boost for phasers, I was excited, and thought yeah that's something I would go for in this new rep grind.. but now, not so much.. If they put it back on let us non-testers know...
The phaser/disruptor set bonus was pretty much the only thing that really interested me in this new rep. This alone takes away the only reason I had to grind this new reputation.
WOW. I knew this thread was coming. Didn't take long for the "it's OP! OMG! Nerf it".
I'll reply with one simple question. What, prey tell, is the point of new weapons and equipment if it's not more powerful than what we had before? If all things remain static and equal there IS NO POINT in grinding a new rep.

The bonus is back.
So this is kind of head turning for me.
At first I was like ...
But then I was like ...
and NOW I'm all like ...
No matter what, the bottom line for me is that there is now a set that provides a bonus to phasers. Which falls in line with at least two of my characters, if not more in the future. So I have some real deal incentive to acquire parts of this reputation's set and depending on what else the pieces do will be very open to getting more.
All I ever wanted was a phaser boosting set. So yay for this set.
The feedback given in this thread, and elsewhere on the forums, has caused us to have more design discussions internally, regarding the 2pc Set Bonus on the Counter Command Ordnance set.
The short version is this: The bonuses to Phaser/Disruptor damage will be returning. They are being changed into a "bonus" instead of a "strength" however, so their magnitude will appear to be lower than the previous screenshots that were floating around.
In order to allow for this, without doubling up too much on redundant bonuses, the Phaser/Disruptor damage bonuses that are part of the Counter Command Multi-Energy Relay (Tac Console) are being reduced, while its associated Photon Projectile damage is being increased.
The main reason for this is simple: The fact that no existing Space Set offers a passive set bonus that increases Phaser damage output is an oversight that we specifically wanted to address with the Counter-Command equipment. And one that players obviously noticed and also desired to be corrected. Unfortunately, too many chefs in this particular kitchen led to some crossed wires and miscommunications. Once the changes I've mentioned in this post are applied, we'll have come to a point where our original design intentions are being met.

So for now, it's back. Hope that's enough confirmation. I've been confused about it the whole time myself, so I understand the trepidation.

Now that make the set interesting for 2 of my characters. For a vesta using aux cannon, and for a Kumari, either using the wing cannon or a disruptor build. I'll even spend my lobis for the 2piece set of silent enemy !
I'm excited by the change. Without it, the set was not interesting enough IMO.

Lol, not sure if people have noticed, but combining the new sensor analysis with that proc from the 4 piece set is a death sentence.
After the Tribble patch on the 10th was when i noticed it.
This. It is rinse and repeat for Cryptc's balanced mantra..
