The first time a player completes "Fluid Dynamics" they will receive:
15 Omega Marks
A unique "Adaptive Transphasic Torpedo Mk XII [Dmg]x3 [Borg]" which deals additional damage to enemy Borg.
I'm assuming this means when the player completes the NEW and IMPROVED mission for the first time, meaning everyone can obtain this upon playing it when Season 9 launches.

That is merely your opinion. The Counter-Command Ground set and new ESD looks cool, kit revamp will change ground combat, and the revamped Borg and Undine missions might be interesting. There is also the fact that the new Summer Event which includes surfboards and swimsuits is part of Season 9.
A new map does not make a season, especially a non-mission map. Other ground sets out already are superior than the 8472 set. Old kits worked just fine so, now you can spend an hour finding the kit you like and be done with it. Lastly, summer event was a wash like last year and it will be again this year. Opinion or not, that is just what the metrics show.
There's no new fleet holding in Season 9 - between the Spire, the Mine, and the Embassy, the vast majority of fleets still have many projects to complete.
Perhaps you could throw us big fleets a bone and give us a special project that just eats tens of thousands of fleet marks with no doff/commodity inputs?

Ummm...I'm a little worried about that. On tribble right now and the rewards listed are those for replay, not first time playthrough. This might not reflect what is actually awarded by playing through the updated missions for the "first" time, but I could easily see there being a problem when this content launches (assuming they don't add in a special contact to reclaim this gear, a la Elisa Flores).
Still, can't complain about purple antiproton space weapons as replay reward gear....

No but a new FE, a major FE series revamp, a new battlezone, and slew of new STF's do. Space dock is just icing on the cake (not the meat of S9.)

This would be awesome for medium sized fleets too. Maybe a project for each finsihed holding that can be used to trade fleet marks for fleet credits, even if it takes 20 hours and does nothing else.

I was purely talking about the look of the 8472 ground set not the stats and what someone people consider ugly someone else will find it cool. There are numerous people that want to change some of their kit powers so just because you will never use it doesn't mean others won't as well. So you can find a kit that you like over the others, but not one that will perfectly fit.
Where are these metrics that you speak of? If you are talking about those Steam graphs, then they only show how many log on at a particular time not how many people log in to STO for that particular day through Steam. So if a 1,000 players play for an hour for each hour in a day, then it would show a peak of 1,000, but 24,000 players would have played that game in a particular day. Cryptic never releases metrics about how many people log in each day.
I'm assuming that these will be the torpedoes that Voyager used in the show, right?
I certainly hope so. The fact is that compared to the canon, the current Transphasics are woefully underwhelming. They should be more on par with the Omega Plasma Torp than weaker than Photons. What the Omega Plasma Torp does to hull, Transphasics should do to shields.
Also, the "minor fixes" to ESD, apparently didn't include a Character Art pass, making sure the NPCs stationed there, or wandering around are using identical uniform style. Tacofangs response?
Not Tacofangs department. He does the background, not the background characters.
Is the new anti-Undine reputation going to have cutscene missions at each tier? (Please say no!)
Please yes, unless the no is followed by unlockable missions instead.
"Rise like Lions after slumber, In unvanquishable number, Shake your chains to earth like dew, Which in sleep had fallen on you-Ye are many they are few"
Please yes, unless the no is followed by unlockable missions instead.
Why? They're completely unfriendly to casual players why don't have the time nor the patience to grind through five tiers of Reputation levels just to understand the basic story.
Reputation should be purely for gear, and nothing else.

I am well aware of Tacofangs department. Thou he did say that the Character artists would be doing a pass over the ESD NPCs, making them a bit more "uniform" in terms of their actual uniform style. And as of the latest Tribble patch, those NPCs still have very mixed uniform styles. Not to mention, the "Sickbay receptionist" is a Tactical Officer.
There's no new fleet holding in Season 9 - between the Spire, the Mine, and the Embassy, the vast majority of fleets still have many projects to complete.
This is unfortunate. I realize that a comment made in the past about addressing some of the issues raised by the KDF was to the effect "they are only 20% of the players." In this instance, a significant investment of resources were put into a revamp of a resource, ESD, that benefits only 80% of the players. Developing a fleet holding would have benefited 100% of the players.
I assume that in evaluating the "vast majority of fleets" was controlled for all the tier 5 fleets that have started sub-fleets for the sole purpose of generating Fleet Credits. If not, that would be useful information to collect for review in selecting future priorities of limited resources. An email ingame to the top ranked members of each fleet would likely provide this information to you quickly.
I look forward to the creative solutions Cryptic will develop to address the fleet credit generation challenges faced by Tier 5 fleets.
Why do you insist on spamming this post everywhere? I don't think its going to become reality in a Tribble patch notes thread. Seriously, I see this exact post by you everywhere.
Maybe if they had made RR a Faction instead of a Fraction RR players wouldn't have to spam requests for simple QOL improvements everywhere. Of course it great when they have things like Junior Officer weekend and it totally ignores the existence of the RR.
We're here, we have green blood and pointy ears, and we aren't going anywhere, so you better get used to it.

Playing 1 mission a day for 30 days is neither a grind nor unfriendly to casual players.
There's no new fleet holding in Season 9 - between the Spire, the Mine, and the Embassy, the vast majority of fleets still have many projects to complete.
Secondary Deflectors won't be launching on release day, but work on them continues and we'll release them as soon as they're ready.
Gee. I wonder why that is. Oh that's right. I joined my KDF fleet and we finally got tier 5 starbase everything about a month ago. Let's see..........I joined that fleet in October 2012 when it was a full tier 2 starbase and we had been doing projects fairly steady off and on. Sometimes we would go a few weeks without getting much done. Each tier 5 starbase upgrade for the base and 3 other things like science took about 14 days for each upgrade project to complete once filled. That was the cooldown for the projects.
I think what you mean to say is "We aren't releasing a new fleet holding any time soon because we force fleets to take forever just to do what they already have, ESPECIALLY smaller fleets, and that most fleets in the game aren't even close to a tier 5 starbase".
-.-
Edit: http://sto.gamepedia.com/List_of_starbase_projects#Upgrades Starbase, military, engineering and science upgrade tier 5 each take 14 days to finish once the projects are filled for a total of 8 weeks just to fully upgrade the starbase to all tier 5.
So why do the vast majority of fleets have a lot of projects left to complete? Doesn't that tell you something if *most* fleets in the game are still struggling to increase their fleet holding's tiers?
There's no new fleet holding in Season 9 - between the Spire, the Mine, and the Embassy, the vast majority of fleets still have many projects to complete.
The statement that the vast majority of fleets haven't completed there embassy, spire, and mine is probably true, but it is irrelevant. Those fleets that haven't completed them are the little fleets with 10 or 20 active players. The fleets that have allot of active players have long since finished there embassy and mine, and more than likely the spire. Depending how old they are they probably have the starbase done as well. If I had to guess I'd say about half the game's active players are in fleets with the 3 sub holdings done or nearly done. Terrible decision to not include a new holding, will likely leave allot of people with nothing to do till S10.
[*]Any Primary firing mode that has the "Expose" functionality now has half the normal chance to expose the target that a Secondary firing mode would have.
Any Primary firing mode that has the "Expose" functionality now has half the normal chance to expose the target that a Secondary firing mode would have.
This also means that Traits/Items that increase Expose chance have half effect on Primary attack Exposes.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
We will be bringing down the Tribble server for maintenance to apply a new update: ST.40.20140330a.8
General:
Updated rewards for all four of the newly-revamped Borg/Undine Missions.
Each now includes a Purple Mk X (for levels 40-49) or Mk XI (for level 50) piece of gear as a reward option.
The first time a player completes "Assimilation" they will have a choice of one Borg Prosthetic Arm assault weapon.
Additional weapons of this type can be found in the Omega Reputation.
The first time a player completes "Fluid Dynamics" they will receive:
15 Omega Marks
A unique "Adaptive Transphasic Torpedo Mk XII [Dmg]x3 [Borg]" which deals additional damage to enemy Borg.
It appears as though anyone who has already done those missions cannot get the new rewards even on a re play though. I just spent hours trying to get the rewards and couldn't get any.
On the plus side so far the [Borg] proc is working from the old weapons.

This.
Both our fed and kdf fleets are completely done and have been for weeks. Even spire provisions are starting to pile up finally.
There is literally nothing to do but dump in stuff for credits at this point, pretty much everyone has what they wanted or are starting to put gear on alts. (ive had all of my personal gearing done for over 2 months now, save the arkif and uniform unlock which i got end of last month)
We need a new holding honestly.

still not liking that idea.....i tend to play more than 3 hours at once when trying to work on a rep in a 20 hour period....great more GATES......
Does that include melee weapons?
So is that a nerf or a buff?
