I would not say the egos. As it has been revealed to me, there are mentally ill players on ground, but their issues are no more if Cryptic shall bring no premade que on ground.
lol,*******s yes but mentally ill, well maybe thats to harsh
Issue with ground pvp :
- slow queue
- always the same all buffed up catians dudes playing it (there are premade teams here too)
- small maps (engineer advantage)
- poor design maps cant interact with anything sto is a game in future, and you cant find any technology at all is somewhat strange
I was googling the word cupcake and drooling at pictures of the magnicifient-made cupcakes...
...when I saw Biggles' referrat to cupcakes and premades headed straight to a certain player named ''I love cupcakes, yep you got trolled'' and I just wanted to join in the argument. Only if you have a WARM seat for me prepared. And some cupcakes.
Premades or not, that will soon change with the new update. And all of these petty arguments will disappear soon without trace. Of course, there will be still some posts like this, but not numberical as they're right now.
Who I'm lying, there are rarely arguments referring to ground pvp. All I see is space pvp. Perhaps it is because, maybe the ground pvp community is small, or because users just don't check forum. Small or not, both space and ground are in deep pinch.
Anyway.
There is a fleet I will not name right now that is ''controlling'' the ground pvp. Unfortunately when I say ''controlling'', it advances into eventually pug stomping and unfair exploiting weapons and gear. Now, I'm not saying this fleet was exploiting because so far I do not think they had exploited nor I did care, but they had ''pug-stomped'' the ground pvp community to prove ultimate dominance over it. Many people joined them, with many reasons, maybe even with reasons to not be the ones who would be pugstomped, however I do not want to judge their decisions, nor question them. And please note that this is not a direct insult nor that I'm judging you, this is only observance from a fellow ''ground pvper'' who rejected the title of the ground pvper itself because I do not really care for the ground pvp, and bugs, exploits while in meantime other ground pvpers do care.
To move on.
Soulll and Biggles, forum rules apply here as well. And PvP both relies on skill and teamwork. PvP originally means ''Person vs. Person'', so it is right for Biggles to ask for a 1v1 against you, Soulll, so you don't have the right to judge him. While you're right the ground pvp is all about teamwork and completely different than REAL pvp, biggles is just applying pvp's real meaning here and asking you for a duel. Rejection is fine, but judging far more worse.
Ultimately, I'm on no one's side. I wanted to share my honest opinion about all of this, and current ground pvp's situation. There may have been things I shouldn't had said, but I had it enough of keeping it in myself and waiting for others to say the same thing.

We do split our groups up and queue all solo quiet often actually, just not when certain individuals play.. the sort of individuals that like to do one of the following: disconnecting before deaths, trash talking, sabotaging (holding virus hostage, dieing, refusing to play) etc...
It should be pretty obvious why we choose to bring a solid group when those individuals play so no further reasoning is required.
Im still waiting for talon jonas to deliver all those cupcakes he talks about all the time.

I'm completely not against, nor will ever be, of splitting your groups up and queue in solo to make the game easier and happier for both parties, your fleet and the Ground PvP Community. However, when you stated, ''certain individuals'', that means almost the whole community who doesn't relatively like you, from what I observed.
Also to this second phrase, I do understand what you're saying, however if so, then why you're unleashing your anger on the pugs who certainly are not among that list of certain individuals targetting your fleet? Why are they victim of this ''war''?
I think you may have mistaken indetity of some players and thought of them as your enemies when in the meantime they really want to be your friends or at least neutral. But I cannot blame you when you have many enemies around and do not really look at them individually, but at the friends they're hanging up with. However that's another bad judgement given from you.
I know two good examples which I will not state here due to STO Forum's rules, but these two's indetities were mistaken, and a minor thing became a big deal. They never wanted to cause trouble but you looked on their friends they were hanging with and made a bad judgement.
That is what I think you've done, Mikiiy. (I will not state your in-game name, again due to STO Forum's rules) I'll repeat, I do not blame you because I know you have many enemies (some even that you earned yourself) so that somehow could be a reason why you don't trust people easily. But if you're gonna continue making bad judgements on people because of that, people eventually will stop trusting you.
Again, I'll say like I said in my last post, I'm not judging you, questioning your decisions, nor insulting you, but I am suggesting you something as a third party observer in all of this.

Please don't pretend to speak for the "whole community", when i say certain individuals then i mean certain individuals, trying to twist my words isn't going to work.

Wow what your saying is absurd. "anger", "war" .. are you sure you even still talk about pvp?
Pvp is all about ENTERTAINMENT and FUN, theres NO war going on and theres NO anger. The anger is all on the side of the people with the wrong attitude.
Playing with your buddys is only natural!
Pvp is all about teamplay. Not going together with buddies makes pvp slightly less fun actually, so whenever we queue solo we do that to avoid one-sided games and actively SACRIFICE some of our teamplay-fun for it.
However, where is the fun in pvp when you sacrifice playing with your buddies with the intention to have more fun just so you end up with someone on your team that will grief you, because they take pvp way to serious and personal and play with an "i'll make those guys lose when im ON THEIR side for revenge!" attitude?
The answer is having people that,
a) disconnect before deaths,
b) hold the virus hostage to make your own team lose,
c) taking shields of suiciding into the opponents to make people on the own team lose,
d) trashtalk you after they made you lose with methods mentioned in a-c
..is taking the fun out of pvp.
So once that sort of player with all the wrong attitude is present theres no point anymore in trying to make it more fun by sacrificing teamplay, all you'll get is more griefing instead, so you may as well bring your buddies along and minimize chances to get paired with people that take pvp to personal.

Certain individuals is definitely not the right thing to say. The whole community hates your fleet with some reason, some people indirectly, some directly. When I said the Community I know what I meant to say, and I hope you understand now.
Who told you I speak for the community? A hawk?
I don't know whether you're trolling me or trying to deny the fact that this is truth, because you know the BEST what is going on between your fleet's and community's relationship.
I realize I may have made it a little bigger than it should be with those words, but isn't that truth? You're just fighting against those ''certain individuals'' (aka whole community literally), making the PvP uncomfortable for the third party (newcomers), and not to mention other players of your fleet who are coming into PvP ques for a whatever third reason which is not the one you mentioned (it's natural they're playing, but they're playing it that way so they make the ground pvp busy being pugstomped.)
Wouldn't you feel uncomfortable? I would. I know I would.
And this thing about playing about friends and other things... I have one thing to say. What?
Ok, playing with my buddies is natural. I understand that. Do you think I'm mentally ill or antisocial person who doesn't hang with his friends? Well, no. I'm not. Now this... you're making a big deal out of all of this.
The rest I couldn't really understand. Sorry Mikiiy, it's not you nor your english, but I couldn't comprehend the other things you said. I understood the part teaming with my friends to have fun and then...... Armageddon. I couldn't understand the rest.
Oh, c'mon, trashtalk and all of the things you've mentioned are common things. It happens in every game. a) is understandable, that should be stopped, b) also and about c) that commonly happens in other games as well. That should be solved with the person that has been doing that. d) is totally common.
Oh, and if you have problem with my ''buddies'' doing that, tell them that yourself. I'm not involved in this whatsoever, though I am posting and having an argument with you here which I'll finish here. Any other responses you may have to this post, Mikiiy, send them in PM or in-game mail. I'm done with stressing myself expecting what response will you come with, honestly.

Awww and here you are just doing it again.. trying to speak for the whole community.
You'll understand that i'll stop responding to Mr-i-speak-for-the-WHOLE-community right here
Don't sweat it Rose Fs knows what's coming next season especially if they split the q's. How much do you want to bet that fs will never be 5 deep in the arena premade? This would mean they would be forced to take on another 5 man premade which would most likely be another balanced premade. In all likelyhood they will just pair up in the pug q's and if they land on the same team it would be 4 man fs and if on opposing teams it will just turn into another failed griefing match that people will beam out of anyway.
And to Tami Rose pretty much hit the nail right on the head regardless of how many non fs he speaks for. I used to support fs during the fes reign but after seeing your bs go full force I will never help any of your fleet again regardless of whether they are "good" fs or not. The proof alone is when you lose long time vet fleet members and if I had to take a guess I know exactly who you are going to lose next round too but I will keep those to myself. Go ahead and spew out some unrelated bs to dodge the facts about you and fs being spoke here as you always do. Keep hiding behind your premade some more cause your time will be at an end soon.
So the next post by you will be something about talogout or how fs has no competition worthy of thier time or some other inflated self boosting bs that you always spew. Say whatever you want you can't touch me without help I have beaten fs with hammer and it doesn't matter how many years or meta's ago. It was done and will be done again team permitting. I have a lot more allies than you think honey. They have accepted me for what I will bring to them when the crunch time matches occur. The problem is some of them simply aren't playing right now and then there's the fact that I work 50 to 55 hours a week. I actually live out on my own and don't bum off my states welfare program or live at home with mommy. But summertime will allow for more game time I anticipate. Just pray to me that I don't have 4 a$$ busters with me to kick you out of the q's. MMKAY honey?
Yea so much sinergy and teamplay required to stomp pugs,so much fun for both sides involved, lol. And only one that regulary spliting in 2 teams are German group you recently recruited,so way to go Germans. And about griefing,i was in match few days ago where you by some miracle pugging and you end up in same team with 2 guys that were in your fleet before and you didnt even bother to play, you just quit.So thats about griefing.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
Hmm *yawn*. I've been a ground pvp'er since Feb or March of 2010. It's cyclical. Always has been. The rage heading our way is nothing new, some people just expect to always win. Point to whatever power or ability that cryptic has added over the years and it still doesn't matter. I would agree with Talon though that the rage about players using working as designed powers is unwarranted. You can have whatever opinion you want about an available ability in the game but if it's not bugged you can't expect everyone to have the same opinion.
I can understand if a bug is being exploited and I myself have been very active here and directly to devs to get things addressed. I seriously feel like some players are just not happy unless they are wagging their finger and saying "nonono you can't do that!" to SOMEONE.
As far as teaming, I pug quite often and so do the rest. Still have gotten the hate filled evil premade rage chat if even two of us end up on the same side. Bottom line is, we can't control people's reactions or behavior. If we team, we team, if we don't, we don't. Either way the goal is to play ground pvp and have some fun and that's it. No evul laughs while tenting our hands about how we're ruining everyone's day. We're Trek fans playing a Star Trek game, as simple as that.

Nulonu, there were a lot of people that didn't have a problem with your fleet between Season 5 and Season 7. We discovered knockback was broken and your fleet decided to start running teams of Operatives in order to chain lunge on your opponents. It was a known bug, a bug that is now fixed, but your fleet knowingly chose to abuse it to gain an upper hand. Legacy of Romulus is released and Biochemist is "fixed". However, Cryptic didn't add a stack limit...and it becomes very easy to get an opponent to -300 all damage resistance rating. Your fleet decided it was a good idea to run teams of 2-3 physicists all using this broken and now fixed duty officer. Again, using a bug to gain an advantage over your opponents.
Now currently we have that awful subspace manipulator trait that blocks out 7 meters of a battlefield for 30 seconds. Your fleet is now running teams of three science officers to effectively eliminate the other team's ability to fight back. So drop the whole "everyone hates us" hurt act. You have decided to allow your fleet to go down this road. Just last night I ran into some -FS- players using the lobi Stasis pistol to place mine barrier directly in front of and behind a stasised player in order to kill them after they decloak. Then they wondered why I and the pug team I was on started to use /logout after a while.
Everyone knows that stasis pistol does not have counters and teams running this weapon effectively reduces the other team's player count down by one. It is also a very widely held belief, even by your fleet in the past, that stasis pistol + mine barrier is extremely poor sportsmanship. So if your fleet is going to complain about any exploiting logout, then they need to look in the mirror. I and many others don't like to play dirty, but it is ethically sound to counter cheating with cheating. Also, spare me the "stasis + mine barrier is extremely difficult to do" claim that you all started using after your fleet changed your tune on the ability. It is simple; activate stasis, count to 7, drop mine barrier. Boom, instant kill, works every time.
I do believe Rose succinctly addressed numerous concerns that players have - whilst he may not speak for the whole ground pvp community, he certainly does express a view similarly held by a vast majority. To that end, to further compound Rose's point, this perhaps explains the existence of the Organized Ground PvP Channel (OrganizedGPvP) whereby a large number of the ground playerbase have congregated to participate in matchs, as well as helping one another, without the bother of the same fleet doing the same old steam-rolling of pugs. One must ask, surely if such a large number of the regular ground pvp playerbase expresses or hold similar views regarding what's going ... maybe there might actually be a point that can't be so readily dismissed as QQ.
Nonetheless, should the new space arena prove successful, we'll be seeing it applied to the ground queues.
I won't say anything that may be understood as an insult to the others (Mikiiy or his fleet), but since Mikiiy did not respect my wish to not respond to that post, then I'll post here again as he did to my post when I plead him to not.
I have expressed my true feelings on all of this. I hope in future I will not be blamed for doing such a thing, because of a huge reaction that was caused in this thread. All of the facts I pointed out may be proven true or false, but whatever happen, I know what I wanted to say. I had the courage to go out to the forums and say that that and that as a person who's completely neutral between these two big parties, Mikiiy's fleet and Ground PvP Community.
And in past, like I'm doing right now, I had constant arguments. During all of arguments I've had, I have never spoken for the Community and will not volunteer for such a job. I said, as semodo noticed, some things that were, in other words, most of the concerns nowadays players have. Many players in past, members from FES, some members of Hammer have left because of constant unbalanced relationship between community and Mikiiy's fleet. (Technically they left because the queues got bored due to conflict that has been going on for a long time.)
I hope in future that may change, but as of right now, if the side involved in this conflict between Community and Mikiiy's fleet (and when I say side it may be whether the community or Mikiiy's fleet) do not change, the conflict will last forever.

And what group started that lunge pounce chaining again? Wasn't us. In all the teams we've put together to queue up in not once was I involved in or saw any conversation where some one said "hey let's abuse the knock back bug as best we can." No one really knew the extent of how broken that was. After pestering a dev about it enough he was able to see what was going on and explain how broken it truly was. I wonder if you really understand what the problem was there. No one could avoid it.
What do you see in the queue whenever something like that or biochemist comes along? It's FILLED with people using it from every fleet. I can take a little credit for bringing what was possible with the biochemist to the devs attention by sending along some of my logs. Was the biochemist OP? IMO yea. Was it "bugged"? Technically no, it did exactly what it said it would do and yea in response to the 2-3 sci teams we kept running into using it, we started bringing our own.
Then they wondered why I and the pug team I was on started to use /logout after a while.
You still going on about that trait? Works as designed and is the same area denial dampening field ever was. The problem was no one outside of it could see through it. That issue was addressed a long time ago and bort was very clear that the ability's effect works as intended. It's part of the game, get over it.
Everyone knows that stasis pistol does not have counters and teams running this weapon effectively reduces the other team's player count down by one. It is also a very widely held belief, even by your fleet in the past, that stasis pistol + mine barrier is extremely poor sportsmanship. I don't recall any conversation you and I had about stasis. Of course when it was bugged with weapons malfunction it's use was discouraged among us. For others outside our fleet that didn't matter, and it was heavily exploited. Since it works as intended now I find it an effective cloak counter but pointless to use otherwise. Usually I get saved by it if someone on the other side is using one lol. As far as mine barrier combo, slot mental discipline if you want to get out of it. You want to blame the user because you didn't slot a counter, and QQ and log out because of it? Do you do the same thing in space when someone tractors you on a toon you didn't slot APO or PH on? Gimme a break tira. You don't like some things in the game, fine I get it, but the game is the way it is. If you don't like it play something else instead of wasting yours and everyone else's time attacking people for using working as designed options in the game.
As for rose's post about community conflict, the animosity flung our way is what it is. I'll play with anyone who is friendly and fun. That's how I personally have conducted myself in my time as a STO player and I will continue to.
Speaking of biochemist, the doff itself was bugged and exploited far too much, and oftenly the exploiters would be some certain fleets and their players. There were also several individuals who abused the bug connected to the biochemist to their own use. It was an exploit, however you may view it.
Also nulonu, if I may ask who were the teams abusing the bug that forced your fleet to go with the same science team doing the exactly same thing in response to these teams? This is a mere question, because I have never seen any team doing that. If you know any, please peacefully say so.
The trait may be working as designed, but it was considered OP and technically slowing down your speed when you enter the sphere is more than troublesome, and it's even more troublesome during the clash. What's even more troublesome no one could see through it, which was the same issue on space too. The trait is not loved, yeah we all know that, and it's kinda stupid if you ask me, but it did work as intended. So I agree with you there nulonu.
And about statis gun... it's not bugged nor anything. The gun used in ground pvp is just considered cowardly. That's all.

Their devotion to Cheesus was quite admirable, but the Disciples overcame them in glorious victory.
Needless to say I had to become a Martyr to rally behind when the Anti-Cheesus, Demon Lord Lagspike tried to test my faith.
And in all seriousness two of them got stuck in the ceiling, but we prevailed.

You'll understand that i'll stop responding to Mr-i-speak-for-the-WHOLE-community right here
But thanks for the entertainment, rose.

Sorry Rylan, but Peter Griffin did it better.

Nonetheless, should the new space arena prove successful, we'll be seeing it applied to the ground queues.

Cheers,

You still going on about that trait? Works as designed and is the same area denial dampening field ever was. The problem was no one outside of it could see through it. That issue was addressed a long time ago and bort was very clear that the ability's effect works as intended. It's part of the game, get over it.
