Doesn't seem like its going to change that much in the grand scheme of things. The nerfing of all the passives is an annoyance but its not like my builds are going to implode over a 3% reduced crit rate and the lack of Sensor Assault. Borg 2-piece nerf, we'll see how big a difference that actually makes, but initial glance seems more irritating than game-breaking. Besides, when the high-end ships are still going to be built around 'who needs defense when everything is dead before they can hurt you?' how much is THAT going to change?
A normie goes "Oh, what's this?"
An otaku goes "UwU, what's this?"
A furry goes "OwO, what's this?"
A werewolf goes "Awoo, what's this?"
"It's nothing personal, I just don't feel like I've gotten to know a person until I've sniffed their crotch." "We said 'no' to Mr. Curiosity. We're not home. Curiosity is not welcome, it is not to be invited in. Curiosity...is bad. It gets you in trouble, it gets you killed, and more importantly...it makes you poor!"

I guess I'm looking forward to looking more Asian finally...
I hope one of the devs has a bit of spare time to do that for the Asian NPCs as well , glad they have finnaly got round to diversifying faces a bit more
These are the Voyages on the STO forum, the final frontier. Our continuing mission: to explore Pretentious Posts, to seek out new Overreactions and Misinformation , to boldly experience Cynicism like no man has before.......
Meh...doesn't look like there's anything worthwhile in it so far. Looks to be the least interesting update since I started this game. The rep will be a total bore thanks to the passives nerf. If there's some worthwhile gear in it I might do it on my main, certainly not going to do it on my alts.
I'm not minmaxy enough to rebuild my ship over it either. Just pick whatever looks good. Someone will figure out the "best" traits at some point and they can be swapped for free so why bother thinking about it?
The new missions will probably entertain me for a few days, then its going to be business as usual.
Is there really all that much to change? Sure, decide which traits you want, get the new gear and see if it's worth it. But fundamentally, it feels very similar.
I think the new kit system might make ground a bit more interesting as you find your perfect kit.
Star Trek Online Advancement: You start with lowbie gear, you end with Lobi gear.
what did they do to the borg 2 piece set, they are nerfing it?
More of fix, the set had some bad math and they are fixing it to be right but it will appear to be a nerf to the uneducated. Basic explanation it was using a modifier that was making the 2 piece heal too much.
Hey I Used to be Captain Data, well I guess I still am in game but the account link really screwed everything up

That was weak, lol.:D
It was good, and after they change it, it will be bad. A nerf is what it is, so call it what it is.
There will be no big change. The rep passives doesnt change your ship, and the 2pc-Borg is still a very good hullheal. On a sci-vessel you lose around 40% heal it did before, but its still very powerful, especially if you look, what the other 2pc-sets give you.

as i understood it, it is a nerf for cruisers that used it...but a slight buff for sci vessels and escorts. The less base HP your ship has the more overall % the proc will heal.
before, cruisers profited the most, after the patch goes live they don't.

It's a nerf for all but the lowest hull ships. If you fly bop, you might not notice a difference.:P
I always thought it healed my Oddy by a hell of a lot more than the tooltip said. I also have 62k base hull, so that explains it I think.
yes, because it did...that's why it got nerfed in the first place. It did heal ships with a lot of HP better than ships with little HP...hence the adjustment to the formula, which was incorect (not consistant with the tooltip)
I'm looking forward to the revamped Borg/Undine missions, and the sequel to "A Step Between Stars". That's pretty much it so far. The rest seems like a copy-and-paste of Season 8, this time with Undine instead of Voth.

Unfortunately, no, I'm not excited. Season 9 just seems to be another Season 8 (which I didn't like at all). Its another rep grind framed around STF's to fuel them. I was really hoping for more of a new adventure area/exploration zone, not a rinse of what everyone pretty much disliked about the last season.
I agree. Everything in this game is linear. There is no "wrong" choice hell there is no choice. Missions should have multiple arcs, if you answer the 1st question a certain way it should effect the way the mission progresses, makes it harder or easier, makes it aggressive or passive and while you can complete the mission the scenarios in the mission can change based upon multiple "right" answers that change how NPCs act.

the changes to the pvp queues might look interesting, but its still the same broken pvp once the match is underway.

R.I.P
Yup. Totally got it right there Cryptic. You wanted to diversify the passives being used... instead you'll just make them even MORE identical.
Good job.
And I am already becoming less active in game, so all these changes to my ship builds... um... ok. Great.
Yes.
Yup.

Ditto
Oh, and I am not excited.
