When are doing some changes on reputation systems i have some idea. Account wide reputation/fleet marks system, do it as salable thing for 1k-2k Zen for account.
Less grind for players more money for cryptic.
FaW+DEM+AtB in pvp = High score , no skill.
PVP 2014 - Fawn00bs,Vapers and leavers...
Less grind was introduced into the Rep system in terms of a Sponsorship token, and now after the revamp hit holodeck, from my understanding each project completed will reward a XII available item like the Dyson one.
Money is lost by having it account bound as special tokens from the C store now seem a lot less appealing because with this idea, if you have X amount of characters you'll be able to run X mission in X amount of time and keep running through X mission on each character, one at a time.
This would generate a lot of marks and indeed a lot of logging in/out.
The only thing I would like to see become account shared is EXP. Due to 'end game' reps and fleet projects, I don't see how exp could make such a big difference in the overall progress. Whereas an account marks would defiantly.
I didn't even mention the new rep marks 'daily' bonus either!
Although a neat idea, I doubt it'll happen considering the recent changes made to the Rep system.
Actually think it would be a GREAT idea, but Cryptic will not pick that Idea up. Since D'Angelo as an irrational fear of the term "account wide" and hates alts.
Still, the benefits are simple:
Its kind of annoying that RIGHT when you have all the rep stuff to fight a particular enemy (Voth set, Borg set ect) you don't need it any more (ok for Dillithium, but with multiple alts you most lilley want to farm them for more rep)
And if you have multiple characters you have to start at 0 and fight the enemy without that equip to get the SAME marks.
If the MARKS would be account wide (not implants or neural processors, just marks) it would help alts a lot.
And from Cryptics side: THEY want people to play the content, for them its no difference with WHICH character we do it. The people still PLAY the content.
Might even motivate for alts. Which means money.
We also couldn't just pre-farm the entire rep for new chars. The Expertise would become more important. And for the equip, well, additionally to expertise at least for Omega and Voth the rep needs the Implants and the Processors, which each character has to earn by himself.
Guild Wars 2 uses account wide currencies and that works quiet well.
