WARNING: Do NOT use the free Zen offers supplied by sponsorpay.com

Hello -

I made a test whether free zen actually work. Result: they don't.

I selected a browser game from the list, and worked to the level required. Then I waited, it said you would get Zen after 4 hours.
After a day, nothing.
I opened a support ticked with the "sponsorpay" company, and attached a screenie of my level.
They answered and wanted a screenie and the registration email of that game.
I answered, attached the screenie again and attached the registration email (attached so that all mail headers etc remain intact).
They answered that they needed the email with headers.
I sent them the email again.
They then closed the case and said they couldn't give me any free Zen since I failed to give any proof, and suggested with mocking friendlyness that should I try to get this again, I had better document anything so I could prove my claims.

WHAT??

Dear Perfectworld, "SponsorPay.Com" does not seem to be a legit partner.

Dear fellow players: stay away from those offers.

A very disgruntled,

ZRiss

Yup, these ads should be forbidden. They ask us for nothing. I've been owned last year, first time I was trying this, last time.

What did you expect? They're all scams. Only a few of them will actually cough up, and only then if you carefully manipulate the system. None of them as "legitimate", otherwise they wouldn't be offering you things for "free". They're all con artists and scammers. Plan accordingly.

They get your registration information and they get your ip which they then sell to advertisers, then you wonder why your registration email is suddenly getting a lot of spam about male enhancement meds, online prescription drugs, foreign women looking for a lover, etc. etc. There is no such thing as free, avoid these things like the plague that they are.
If something is not broken, don't fix it, if it is broken, don't leave it broken.

Protip: No one says you have to give them this. There's an ancient and mystical technique popularly used to defeat such attempts on the Internet....it's called "lying". They lie to you. Turnabout is fair play. You might get your Zen, they might get some useless information that tells them what they want to hear so they can feel better about whatever they're doing with it.

They do want you to lie on it. By "disqualifying" anyone who does not give an exact set of answers, the company can say whatever BS survey results they want.
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

Of course they do. That's the entire point. So tell them what they want to hear, pocket the occasional free Zen, and everyone is happy.

Tell them the truth, and they'll sell your info, and give you nothing while disqualifying you. They have this scam neatly wrapped up, it's up to you to get what YOU want out of it without giving up anything of value.

The "play this browsergame and reach level x" offers from sponsorpay worked fine for me. Granted, I had to open a support ticket and attach a screenshot every time (played three games), but they rewarded me a few hours later. Afterwards I just unsubscribed the provided email adress (not a primary one, of course) with the browsergames and it didn't give me any more trouble.

All of those free zen things are dubious, but in my opinion the "play this browesergame" offers are the most legit ones. Just be sure it's a game with some reputation (all I played at least run TV ads where I live, hence they got some reputation to lose).

Honestly, should have just titled the thread "WARNING: Do Not Fall For Obvious Scams" and left it at that. Would have covered a lot more ground.

Obvious to anyone with a modicum of common sense.

Saying that, we live in a society where people willingly downloaded mobile/cell phone apps that claimed to make said phones "waterproof".
They subsequently cried and complained when their waterlogged phone died a horrible death. Yeah.... errrmmmm.... Hmmmmm.
Alas poor Common Sense. We knew it well. RIP.

Really you're being serious on the phone thing? I though hearing someone asking if the tank was too deep and would his fish drown was bad but that......

Well Sponsorpay isn't available to me, I only get the Peanut Labs ones, I have done one survey and got my Zen. I avoid all the ones asking my to sign up for something, enter this contest/draw, or surveys asking for my personal details and others like it.

I've had the same issue with some of the stuff from Peanut Labs. Even the ones that offer minute amounts of zen do not pay off half the time. I think the ones that are the most infuriating are those that get you ti give out info and answer questions for 15 minutes before telling you that you do not qualify. It's like "Well, thanks for wasting my time."

I admit some do work, but it can be a huge hassle at times. I would say about 50-60% of the time I do not get the promised zen, even if I have done everything they asked. And then they wonder why people are so hesitant to give out personal information.

Save your zen buying for cryptic. Its the safest. Don't go through anyone else. For anything else (etc, ships, gear, etc) go through the treasury. You purchase what you want on their site, and they invite you to a ship bridge in game and trade it to you directly. And they'll try and and work around your schedule. I know most players find this offensive, but I feel its justified considering the greed that runs the exchange.

Did you just tell us to circumvent the standard purchasing process? I smell a scam.

Same thing with peanut labs, I have since stopped attempting to get anything out of them, to be honest the dil exchange even while it is high is a better alternative and even then SOMEBODY down the line has to buy the zen, and that money will go directly to the company you intended it to go to.

Out of curiosity, I went back to the peanut labs stuff and they had an offer for Iams pet food. I have a cat and all you are asked to do is signup to get a newsletter via email. I don't mind those so I signed up for it...and it worked. 63 zen. Not bad for just giving some basic info. It took about 5 minutes for it to post to my account, but it's there.

The 75 to 90 opinion surveys are the best ones, you don't seem to fail them, the student ones don't work, and the research ones you can fail.
