I personally like the simple fact that I can make a captain in the Star Trek universe, command a ship, and personalize both my appearance and my abilities. It's truly one of the greatest Star Trek games ever made, because we can play as a character that is truly ours.

this is true, and while I hate to complain or ask for more, I do sometimes wish for a few more options in customization.....but usually only on KDF or Romulan side....This game as far as I know DOES have the best customization options of any MMO I am aware of.
As others have posted already, the ability to participate in the Star Trek universe as a game character is the best part for me. The level of customization is also another big plus.
Best thing about STO, it's many games at the same time.
* Voth ground battlezone = Turok & Halo (Turok 64 had robotic dinos & robo T-rex, Voth medic fights just like Halo's Elites, Swarmers are sentinels from halo. They even play the same role. Defense.
* Voth fortress ship = Star Wars' battle of Endor: attack on death star II. Blow up reactor, then GTFO.
*STO has a ghostbusters proton weapon, and you kill ghosts with it.
*STO has a desert level that appears to be a Star Wars planet. (complete with bones, sandworms, Pirates aka sand people/bounty hunters, but no Jawa's or sand speeders)
So yeah STO gives me a little bit of everything I like. Looking froward to the "Vorlon" (undine) Lock boxes.
The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.
For me, the best thing about STO (apart from the obvious, that it's Star Trek), is that it's an s-f MMO that allows you to play both ground and space based missions, with both styles of combat functioning well and being good fun.
That's pretty rare. The romance of s-f has always had both those elements, but few games, far less MMOs, have managed to capture them both.

Nyaaaaaaaaaagh!
I thought WoW's forums had angry elitist snobs, but I never could have imagined the level STO forums has.

As much as I enjoy my KDF characters and respect my fellow warriors of the Empire, this made me laugh far too much. Well played, sir.
