Given they face I am a new Cryptic customer / STO player 20 days or less I have purchased subs and have also purchased Zen!.
If they even fail to acknowledge this soon, and give positive feed-back then they are damaging the game / playerbase even further.
They have made posts within this thread regarding the status of the login server. An update will be given as and when they can offer one.
As much as the information may be sparse, it is still an acknowledgement that they are aware of the issues and are looking to resolve it.

there is a lot of info runing through the server 10s of thousands of lines of code for only one deck of a server i wager there is some where near 10 decks and bet there is at least 4 -5 servers linked lets see if you could antisapate every problom there doing a dame good job

I guess the servers are overloaded because everyone wants to squash the bugs on tribble before they make it to holodeck, to make Season 9 the most bug free season yet

Sorry but this is rediculous. Yesterday you did maintnence, today the servers go down. Are you running with one independant rack for hosting? Switch over to the test bed if you are not running one start. Honestly I run servers that support up to two hundred thousand connections a day with zero down time. I run five independant systems ran through two connection handlers to detect if there is a drop in activity with a self reporting system that will tell me right away what is having the issue. I understand you may have more connections a day then that but I really do not find it hard to make a sustainable server setup. Hire some good runners who can spot a problem on a rack and correct it as well that will save a lot of down time. Concidering that your income is based on microtransactions instead of just flat out subs, every second a server is down is hundreds of potential lost revenue. Also dont use facebook for reporting, use the very thing you force us to see before we can join, the launcher, then forums, then social. I would not even be posting this if I was foretold that the servers were down to such and such a issue but seeing how im not the only one who went "WTF?" and came here, I had to complain. I know its not cheap running servers but thats the line of work we signed up for.
I use STO as my stress relief while watching thousands of connections a minute zip by looking for potential zero days and DOS's. Maybe its high time you hired some one like me.
We were able to get the login servers up, however as the game is still not currently up, please do not try to login until I have information that the situation is more stabilized.
I assure you, Smirk and I will update you as soon as we hear that it is back up online.
Seriously, why do you guys put up with PWE? Cryptic is a more than capable (if somewhat slow with fixes) studio. Do you really need to depend on such a disreputable company for infrastructure?
