Reminds me of my suicide-by-torp-kill technique from the pre-respawn penalty ESTF days. I used to fly my FPE into point blank range of a cube in KASE, unload with my cannons while bracing for the inevitable uber-plasma torp. If I did it just right, the torp would take out the cube and I'd survive. But even if I didn't, I'd still take out the cube or, barring that, be back to finish the job a few seconds later.

Then came the scaled respawn timer penalty, thus putting an end to my suicide-by-torp-kill technique. :(

simple enough-unlike normal damage, ramming something requires the use of "Components" to repair-like damage in ESTF's, and has a chance of offlining delicate systems like.oh...engines, shields or deflectors on respawn unless you use the components and carry out repairs.

Considering you can't BUY critical components from a vendor (exchange or drops only) and if it's set up right, that's the component consumables you'd need...kind of self-limiting.

"Yes, you can do it, but it'll cost ya."

No one would use it. Its bad enough I have abandon ship off my bar going this route I would remove ramming speed. Though I do like the idea but make it a respawn thing. If you take component damage and survive the damage can only be removed by respawn.
Hey I Used to be Captain Data, well I guess I still am in game but the account link really screwed everything up

I use Ramming Speed for exactly two things right now: Helping with last-minute getaways (it's not much a boost, but it's something), and going out with a blaze of glory when I'm about to die anyways. I fly a BoP, so getting down to 25-50% HP is usually a sign I'm about to get blown up. I'd rather go out ramming an enemy ship.

    Attack Pattern Troi?

Attack Pattern Troi crashes your ship into whatever is nearby, not necessarily an enemy ship. Also only works on Gal-R's and Sovereigns.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

I'm prety sure it would work on any ship.
Just we saw only 2 ships using it onscreen we can't assume it only works on those....

Hell.... It would probably work on immobile objects like space station... Or asteroids....
