The Crystalline event was actually 20 times better than this one even on Elite and I would do that one again in a heart beat unless of course it becomes as annoying as this one
I wasn't debating whether the CE event was better or not. I was just pointing out to that the chances of being able to 'complete this event rep project' next year are slim to nil so no point in people starting it and hoarding the rewards for next year. Though yes, I did prefer the CE event.
Something I really think Cryptic should have done for this event (and should keep in mind for any future events like this) is to allow the single transporter project (the one that unlocks after you complete the 14 day mission) to be slotted at any time. That way, people who don't have enough time to do the full 14 day project would still see some point in taking part and running the mission. As it stands, there are a lot of people who simply wont even play the mission because they didn't have 14 days free to complete the main project so there wasn't much point.
If they could have at least ran the smaller project for the days they could play then they would be more likely to have taken part.
Join date is wrong, I've actually been around since STO Beta.
True alters don't have a "main". Account wide unlocks for all unique event rewards!!
QFT. I did it on Elite and it ran fine but compared to the rewards I got on Normal, it wasn't even worth the effort doing Elite. I got almost as much on Normal without the injury risk.

Well I actually liked it however I do have a couple of things to say.
You went from one extreme to the other on rift and ship spawns. We went from twiddling thumbs for a couple of minutes in a good group to being swamped even in a good group. For the next one please find a happy medium.
If people start it with no hope of completing the main project the secondary one should be available to them straight away. This gives them the option of something to do instead of saving the items until the next time it appears.
I don't mind the 'fixed' version - yes, it is *manic* and pretty hard for a guy like me, a casual player. Yet, even in the worst PUGs I at least got 30-ish marks and the spark plug for the event rep. And in the few runs I've had since the fix where we actually managed to save the station, I really felt like I accomplished something. I don't get to feel like that very often playing normal difficulty.

I LOVED the MI event.... I did it for the whole duration of the even on 4 toons and still didn't feel sick of it.
After the fix and they threw like 100 ships at you it felt really good trying to save the station whilst closing the rift and power up stations. There were a hanfull of times that we didn't save the station or get the station to level 5 but for the whole duration of the game you were working as a team and doing a whole lotta pew pewn!... o and we did it with MK X weapons as well!:D
We did mostly normal and had a couple of elite runs but either one was fun!
Hope they keep it... I won't be touching it with a 10' pole anytime soon but I don't shoving a torp down the Terrans warp core!

What's the fun in wiping out a sector in a couple of minutes using top level gear and not having to work as a team? It's AWESOME!... for the first few times... but after a while when you've realized that the challenge is not there when a single ship can take a cube out on Elite, it's not that fun anymore.
It is actually FUN working with other players as a team, like with some fleetmates, by communicating and having a plan. By working together in the whole, we were much more efficient to the extent that not using top quality weapons didn't make a difference.
My problem is that I really cannot play enough to support a fleet and if Cryptic is going to release more content that requires "team-based" play, then you will NEED to become more social and find a group of players that you can hookup with to get the content completed. I joined up with the Star Trek Battles channel for these reasons.

My main issues with this Mirror Event was that it was timegated and had forced cutscenes, two things which really put me off. It just felt too slow and got dull after a while for me, the Crystalline event I felt was far better.
I enjoyed it, bar the forced cutscene in the middle (the first one was skippable). It was fairly tough, and had wide parameters to do badly or well in. Some teams I would be in cleared 60-70 marks on Elite, one team even netted 82 for me, nearly perfect. Other Elite teams could barely clear 40 and I'd have been better off doing a Normal.
But that's good, that's to be expected in a PUG thing, and part of the fun was being alert, observing and trying to make the best of what was going on. The best teams were ones in which everyone was doing that (particularly, tag-teaming the rifts early and fast), so everyone automatically meshed.
The fact that the main reward was automatic was good, it meant that you couldn't fail absolutely if your PUG was TRIBBLE, but there was still room to do better or worse.
But I did come to hate that poor voice actor's voice in that middle cutscene
As it happens, I had no chance to get all 14 MTDs on any char, though that was due more to various RL-scheduling conflicts, and the majority of my play-time having to manage resources in-game. While I liked getting loot, it became a time-wasting chore having to make room in inventory before I could run the MU mission. I can't afford to keep throwing money at the C/Z-store.
Every day that I tried to catch up, I only fell further behind.
On the MU Event I have these requests:
+ Bring back the old version as a regular PvE, Lv 5+ for ALL factions. No time-gating or Rep-project.
+ The New MU event for Lv 50 end-game chars only, once a month or bi-monthly. No SPAMMING. Making it impossible for even the best 5-player teams to save the station is just plain WRONG. No Excuses. Making it Bi-monthly is a lot fairer to players who do not get to make their own schedules. Life is a ###ch for more ppl than you realize.
I was looking forward to the last 9hrs before the event ended to do as much as I could and get as many chars as possible through the factional holidays' events. Sadly, the only PC I could play on chose to go into a coma.
