Crystiline Entity VS. Mirror Universe Grind

Before season 9 begins will having another grind. They already did the crystiline entity 14 day grind twice in the past year, so do we need another grind ? And What do i do with the millions of unrefined dilithium ore i already have?

    Wait until they either release a S9 reputation grind or the Risa reputation grind. Sometimes I feel I'm playing Mafia Wars with all this time gating and grinding.

    Frankly, I wouldn't feel the grind to bee too long if they did it like the Dyson one when at least part of the grind was on a 1 hour time gate instead of the customary 20 hours we're usually subjected to.

    I refuse to take part in limited time grind events. The general rep grinds infuriate me enough already. I too despise the time gates. If I want to farm 100.000 reputation xp worth of marks a day, I should be able to turn them into rep without the dam timers. 20h wait time is a joke. It should be instant.

    The MU event doesn't give a ship.

    Relax. Breathe. Pause Whining.

    Like the Crystalline Entity project before it, the re-introduction of the updated Mirror Event includes a big bonus in terms of dilithium, XP and a special doff. Yes, it will be a limited time thing, and yes it (the event and rewards) will be back at some point in the future.

    Cryptic is nothing if not frugal.

    After the introduction period, it will likely remain as an ongoing event in the same way the Crystalline Entity is now. (Hopefully with more XP).

    Resume Whining.

    Seriously, if ya don't like this grind, there is a very simple option. Don't. Do. It. I refused to do the Grindversary. Do I miss anything? Answer that question yourself: how many Dyson Science Destroyers do you see flying around? Exactly.

    I for one welcome this grind. I'm gonna try it on all my 6 characters, giving me 300k dilithium. That should give my fleet the Historical Uniforms, and maybe another visual upgrade (we only started on June 27th 2013, so we never really had the chance for all upgrades.)

    The 3rd anniversary ship was an episode reward item, they changed it with the 4th anniversary ship grind. The thread is ... Will they continue this pattern of less episode rewards and more grind and how do you feel about it? We had a vote on the voyager story line change. Was that a one vote , one time event?

    Then basically everyone can quickly run around with a maxed out ship and Cryptic would also then need to churn out never rep systems to keep people interested in playing STO. That basically means they need to hire more people which increases the cost of maintaining / adding content to a game that people can essentially play for free. Higher expenses mixed with the possibility of of ZERO income is an awesome way to go bankrupt and shutdown any game/business.

    Perhaps Cryptic should sell "Cool Down Booster" for 1,000 Zen which reduces cool down times by 40% and is valid for 30 days.

    I hope they make closing the rifts in the new Mirror event something other than another DPS race. Having to use science abilities to close them would be fantastic.

    Well if the reward is 50k dil, that averages just under 3600 dil per run, plus marks, plus the ridiculous doff. You could certainly do worse.

    "That which we obtain too easily, we esteem too lightly" I think that was said by Thomas Paine. We should WANT the grind. It SHOULD be hard to get the top end gear because if everyone has it, what would be the point of having it? There is a "cheat" built into the game. It's called the dill store/exchange. If you really want something and have to have it NOW, buy some ZEN (I find this game much cheaper entertainment than a round of golf) and buy dil with the zen. The grind is good. We need more grind. Grind inhibits power creep. New accolade: Grind Master.

    You could do story missions. Or play another character... or go out sometimes... or read a book?
