Question: What do you mean by Joined Trill are not available? You mean as a Boff right?
Joined Trill as a player species was only available by purchasing a digital deluxe copy during the pre launch period... the trill species only joins 1 in a 1,000 - restricting it for only those of us who bought it on time, stays within cannon for the species.....

the RMC would create power creep like no-ones business if it became open to the public.
By this logic, it gives the people who have it (including myself) a significant advantage that no one else will ever have.
I have it; I wish my friends could get one, too. I say make it available on the C-store, at least. I have all kinds of benefits from my pre-order and lifetime subscription, and I got my goodies 4 years before the folks who didn't pre-order or buy an LTS, even if they released them today. That's good enough for me. *shrug*
The devs are loathe to even acknowledge the existence of Pre-Order stuff. THe RMC even gets overlooked for some DoFFs even though it's a battery power!
That said, the Turret would be still usable end-game IF it was universal and not just tactical. There it just makes no sense. My thoughts:
Pros:
Always on, passive device
Will ALWAYS hit target
Will attack enemy starships and emplacements as well
Cons:
SLOW rate of fire
Limited to valuable Tac console slot
Low damage. Comparable to a Mk 1 turret
Is ONLY plasma damage. It does get bonuses to any giving bonus plasma damage, but it is limited.
It's range is 5 KM, not 10 KM like most weps.
What you're ignoring is that long list of other items they had in pre-orders which are now available for purchase in the game's store.
There's no contract keeping them from putting it in the store.
How do you know the unavailable items aren't governed by different contracts (actually, that's pretty much guaranteed, since they were available through different sources) with different terms?
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
The turret is good for leveling, especially during the Romulan arc of the storyline, but it isn't really all that usable at endgame, because of already mentioned stuff.
How do you know the unavailable items aren't governed by different contracts (actually, that's pretty much guaranteed, since they were available through different sources) with different terms?
Because some items from the same pre-order are available in the store when others are not. So if the contract was with that particular vendor (Wal-Mart, Gamestop) then the discussion doesn't hold up since half the stuff is for sale and half isn't.
Since this is Cryptic, the same company that put Disruptors for sale on ESD and Phasers for sale in Drozana on launch day and took two years to correct that error ... the same company that put a vendor on Qo'Nos selling Mk IV and Mk IV disruptors but no Mk VI disruptors ...
I'm just guessing here, and I know it's a complete leap of logic, but I'm far more inclined to believe it's just disorganization at work here than some strict draconian legal contract.

You guys really want a JJ Abrams inspired item put into the C-Store?
I'm kind of shocked.
I dont want anything from that dude.
They literally ruined my new hopes to a new star trek fanchise. The first film was , well, not bad, but it really didnt achieve my expectations. The second one, well.. i stop watching it after i saw the mess JJ Abrams did on the klingon homeworld (if we can call it that, since i dunno wth was that) and the klingon appearance look. At that time , i thought i was watching a resident evil movie. After that, and the -space suit powered scene- how i call it xD, i just pressed the stop button of my player. Not more JJ Abrams for me and im afraid star trek in the big screen is over for me
After the second movie, JJ Abrams is the worst thing happened to star trek in a long time, sigh.
Pro: Detects stealth ship and breaks their stealth, which ruins a Vape ship's surprise attack.
Con: it will fire on an enemy object while cloaked and breaks your cloak and ruins your surprise attack.
Ah, yeah, good point. I was thinking of the con part of it breaking your stealth and totally forgot about the pro part where it will fire on cloaked targets.

It's a pro and a con.
Pro: Detects stealth ship and breaks their stealth, which ruins a Vape ship's surprise attack.
Con: it will fire on an enemy object while cloaked and breaks your cloak and ruins your surprise attack.
"live long enough to be assimilated, resistance is futile"
But for STFs or PvP.... its not worth a console slots, those have grown to be quiet valuable.
Ah, yeah, good point. I was thinking of the con part of it breaking your stealth and totally forgot about the pro part where it will fire on cloaked targets.
Good catch.
