Nothing against you, but the first mistake in listening to Geko is to BELIEVE Geko. He said that, I remember it, but it doesn't mean we should have believed him, considering well...there's a Fleet Gal-X now, and no Fleet Gurumba.
I didn't believe him. But believeing him and knowing he's the person controlling the ship schedule are unrelated in any case.
Lets be honest, it has been an issue with Cryptic for as long as i play this game since Season 3.
Ships all get buffed and upgraded one by one, month after month, where at some point 1 bunch of ships is totally TRIBBLE, and 1 bunch of ships is average, and 1 bunch of ships is superb. And ofcourse 1 ship out of them all which is totally pay2win.
Same for BOFF stations on ships. Still the same old system, so limited and thanks to that we're still sitting around with a Defiant and 3 tactical stations.
But its good, good for cryptic. Because releasing 1 ship, be it revamped or new, each time, it gives them more money. Money == profit.
This game will never change its ways. Id rather invest into stuff that doesn't necessarily equals buff/nerf/status/statistics/etc
Instead, Cosmetic items in the Cstore etc would be way more interesting for me. (ships materials, etc)
With a different approach to this chinese p2w grind mmo model, this game could be fair, and people had totally freedom of choice without having to take the consequences of picking the ship they like, and not having to worry about its stats etc.
keep in mind that the Javelin doesn't take up a console slot. Granted the boost to hull and shield would be nice but the ship 'effectively' has 10 slots, it just has one hardwired.
You know I just bought the Guramba and I couldn't help but think this same thing myself. Take a S'Golth or even the new and might Nicor and while they are technical 10 Console ships, they are only 10 Console ships IF you yank out their versions of the Javelin, otherwise they only have 9 available consoles. Therefore, the only disadvantage to the Gruamba is that you can't remove the Javelin from it but I would have to ask why would you want too?
The Javelin has to be one of the better Death Rays out there. You get siege mode with the transformation, the Javelin charges amazingly fast, it has very short firing delay of about 2-3 seconds so it is easy to use it when you need it without the target moving out of it arc, plus it only takes about a minute before you can recharge and fire again. In comparison, both the S'golth and Nicor rays take like 9 seconds to charge up before firing and are on a 3 minute cool down. The Scimitar even takes 12 second to charge though it is also AoE. I mean I actually find the Javelin to be something I am using over and over and over again rather than something I might use once, under special circumstances.
Anyway, I definitely would like to see a Fleet version but I have a feeling they won't add a fifth tac console because it would make the Javelin borderline OP considerng it really is already the 10th console even if it is non-removable. However the 10% additional hull and shield would be a nice finishing touch to an already good ship.

That topic has been brought up before, Galaxy Dread was a 10 console ship already but the Lance was hardwired. So I guess the new FLEET Gal Dread is actually a 11 Console ship with the Lance Hardwired. lol. Plus its an 8 weapon + Hanger to boot.
Bortasqu coulda had it's special Autocannon hardwired, as others, but they want to sell more ships even if just for the console, so It doesn't matter. They do what they want, Some weapons are hardwired, some aren't. Actually they're getting a little out of hand at this point. Needing Mutiple Lockbox ships to complete a set, or Grind and C store to get a full set, etc. Whatever they think we'll make them money.
iv'e given them plenty of money. Actually just bought both the Ar'kif and Fleeted it days ago. I will never gamble, but C-Store and fleet upgrades I love. Also just bought the Avenger 2 days ago and fleeted it.
I would love the Fleet Garumba to appear. Bring it on, one of the coolest ship designs int he game. Bought it long ago and LOVED it.

Sure a podcast is all well and good, but until such a time as I see it on Holodeck or Tribble, I cannot believe it. Just an old Klingon player being (realistically IMO) cautious about it, though still hopeful.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
No offense to Shpoks or VD, but allow me to quote myself:

Just like the rumors a while back that there'd be a TAC Negh'Var or something like that?

Fleet Guramba
Negh'Var Refit
Constellation
Some other Fed boat.
Timing would be right for them in the May - June area...

Yeah, I understand your caution completely, but to be honest I was quite suprised that the Fleet Guramba didn't come together with the Fleet Galaxy-X. I always thought they're waiting to release them together due to both ships having similar built-in ability.
So the talks of that comming soon is not something suprising to me, it's in fact long overdue. The only logical answer I could find for them not releasing a Fleet Guramba is them not wanting KDF money, which would be very syupid from a business perspective - especially if you consider that there's no real work behind it except from tweaking stats.
What I was actually more suprised about were the talks about that Negh'var Retrofit. When the Mogh was released, I thought that this Negh'var turned into the Mogh. Hearing about the Neg again was interesting.
Although, if anyone from Cryptic is reading this - I'd focus my efforts on releasing a new C-Store BoP with 4 sci.console slots (the one missing from the lienup) and a new C-Store Raptor. That's where I believe the KDF money is currently.
The Fleet Guramba will no doubtedly pay off, it has always been one of the more popular KDF ships and I still see many of them all over the place even these days, which is a testimony to the ship's quality as well as for the players' love for this rather unique ship.

Yeah, I wrote off them doing the Fleet Assault Negh'Var Refit when the Mogh came out...was surprised it got mentioned again.

Kar'Fi, Varanus, Mogh, Marauder, B'rel, and Guramba...but no Raptor.

It's one of those things, I believe folks look at as the following:
No need for a new model.
It's KDF, so would there even be additional customization/Fleet skin.
Throw 10% hull at it.
Boost the shield mod by 10%.
Pick where to drop the console.
Decide the Tier or how to get it.
Done.
Outside of it being a scheduling thing - not wanting to overload folks with ship choices at a given moment where they end up buying fewer ships than they would spread out over a period of time and perhaps it being a ship that might dissuade folks from making other purchases...it's one of those why isn't it there already things, eh?

...and change 1 or 2 of the bridge officer slots to universal.
...and the 10th console should be tactical to compete with Rommie ships.

That's the other worry I have about it: Bad choice on the 10th console.
I mean, they ain't exactly chosen well for other ships. Like the fleet Hoh'sus, that's fine. The fleet Norgh, that's fine. The fleet Mogh, that's fine. Fleet B'rel...isn't fine IMO. I mean, seriously, an eng console of all things?
I hope for a tac console as well on it. Though while a 2ndary choice, I'd be ok with an eng console as well, but I REALLY hope they don't choose a sci console for it.

The Eng Console on the B'rel can result in the ability to do more damage than another Tac Console would...not spike, but more damage...through a myriad of means.
Just want to bump this a bit, a fleet gurumba with 5 tac consoles oh yes please. I personally have been wanting a fleet version for so long, like most I to hope they understand the gaps certain fleet ships need to fill ( we need some really stand out boff layouts ).
