My comment was not directed towards those that test but those that say, "Well X consoles is cheese and should be used in PvP it is op'd/broken/or dumb." The you see that person or persons in their alternate account not toon running everything they are railing against. Of course when confronted they use, " I am just showing how dumb/op/broken X consoles are."

The biggest issue is this is a false hope for casual pvpers. The people that will use these "Triple Team" builds will be casual players for the most part. Casual PvPers will come with their triple team build and wonder why they still died maybe a second later than usual. They will come here and ask for nerfs to cannons, BO, TS THY, etc.
Antonio you said earlier that many refuse to run the Cleanse doff out of principle, I find that admirable but I used to be the same way until I would enter the queues and come against some of the premades and they would be packing whatever is OP'd at the time. Whether it was TR aftershocks, GW aftershocks, spam overload etc. The OPvP community is full of hypocrites they talk principle on the forums and then jump on a an alt account to "spam" what ever is broken or OP at the moment.
For a long time before most of the Critz guys left or went back to there Panda Daddies. We tried to have a fleet where we said NO consoles. We stuck to that and none of us ran any uni consoles. You know people still complained all the time about X or Y or Z. At this point I don't disagree its all out there we are all free to run it.
I don't run the cleans doffs out of principle, that isn't because I think I'm better then everyone else or something. I don't care if people run it really... I just find that to have fun I like there to be some risk when I play a game. (not saying cleanse doff makes you invincible) I just find it removes some of the joy in a win for me. I don't mind loosing when I have been out played, I only really remember a handful of games well and I think half the ones I remember I lost. I remember because I know I went DAMN why the heck did I burn that cool down 10s ago... or Oh man I just flew right in front of that sci and pretty much dared him to nuke me doh. lol
Patch is live in an hour, got all the Team doffs I could ever want, waiting to hit the exchange xD, also going take and my Eng recluse out into the queues and watch the cries or "NERF!" lol. You can only do with what cryptic gives you.
I had principle once too, but after being shafted and spammed (not necessarily by P2W) to death I thought, why the hell are we the only ones with a sense of "honour".
I got the Keel'el doff on many toons, simply because of the amount of warp plasma (which still goes invisible) thats being dumped on you, thats fine when you can see it and have a slightly better chance of avoiding it, but the amount of times I've had to look at the buffs and go why the hell am I being held?
Even with my high end gaming Rig, I've just about managed to tweak the settings so that EWP / Grav wells and pets with tractors actually show up on my screen, even if it is just a flicker every 5 - 10 sec's....
Any way rant over as I just go with what I am given. I remember those days with a fondness that I wish could still be done. I can't say for sure that I feel that the Critz style could still be done. Especially when you look at everything Cryptic keeps shoving down our throats. Lately it isn't just about having universal consoles, it's what else can you get when you equip that universal console. And what I mean by that is Set bonuses. Just look at what they did to the Galaxy consoles. Now if you use Antimatter spread and Saucer sep, you get Moar buffs. Are they the best buffs? No, but they are encouraging you to use those because they give extra buffs. As if you needed a reason to use Antimatter spread or Saucer Seperation on a ship like the Galaxy or the improved Galaxy X..
But yeah, I know, this isn't about that.. this is about the Team changes. Let's hope the team changes are just a step in the right direction and it doesn't turn out to be a huge mistake.

The dress is gold and white. Over 70% people says so. When viewed from a certain screen angle it appears blue and black. The dress displayed on amazon is a blue and black dress, but it's not the same dress in the picture. If you're seeing blue & black you're slightly colored blind. A normal upright screen = white and gold.

The shared cooldown between "Team" powers of different careers has been removed.
There is still a shared cooldown between two "Team" powers of the same career, e.g. Science Team I and Science Team III.

I think I've finally accepted that Star Trek Online is a casual-player's game. I've been waiting all this time for it to step up as a serious MMO, when Cryptic's been saying and showing us all along that it isn't.
It never will be. It's not supposed to be compared to games like WoW, EvE, or GW, it's supposed to be compared to games you download onto your phone. Entertaining, pay to play it faster, but nothing that offers any need for balance.
The PvP community isn't made up of casual players, and it's probably why we're so annoyed all the time. The problem isn't Cryptic, it's us. We want it to be a serious MMO, and it isn't. If it wasn't for the fact that we spend a ton of money in the game as a community, they'd be better off just removing PvP entirely as not to confuse people as to what they want the game to be.

The problem is, people who want it to be a serious MMO face a much larger crowd of people who are either content with how it is now, or content with the heavy shift in PvE content.
Personally, what attracts me to this game in particular is, in fact, the casual feel of the game. I don't want to feel pressure from a leaderboard, from a game-wide open pvp map (although I support open PvP maps, the whole game shouldn't be one). I tried that, it's called BSGO, and it ends up stressing me out more than it helps me unwind from a long day. I come here to feel like I'm actually good at something; whether that be 5v5, or foundry, or CCE, whatever. And I'm sure someone out there feels the same way.
I understand the need to expand PvP in this game to a much larger degree, but don't forget about the people who are already content and don't want to have changes forced upon them.
My 2 cents.

Honestly, I don't consider them making STO into a casual game to have ever been a bad thing. The problem I have is HOW they have gone about it.
They've made everything so damned easy if you have any semblence of skill at all. It's gotten downright annoying to say the least. And it's all about the PvE (let's be honest), which is where the attention is at, so anyone can win.
Problem I take from it, is that it feels like they take 'casual = easy', which honestly it really isn't. Just because a game is a casual game, doesn't automatically mean it has to be easy.
Casual games are nothing new. It's not like it just suddenly sprung from the ground saying 'hey, look at me, I'm a new genre!'. Seriously, ever played Minesweeper or Solitaire on your computer? Casual games, both of em.
I don't mind the casual feel of STO. I can indeed log in for 30 minutes or whatever, and if I don't dink around, I can get a pretty good amount of stuff done. Which really, is a good thing, IMO. It's just...more than a little bit frustrating to say the least, with how they seem to so gladly make the game easier and simpler with each passing patch. I don't want a complete joke of difficulty all the time.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
I think I've finally accepted that Star Trek Online is a casual-player's game. I've been waiting all this time for it to step up as a serious MMO, when Cryptic's been saying and showing us all along that it isn't.
thats BS.That means people log in from time to time (casual) don't bother to learn the game but pump money in it.
I want a business like that where people don't give a shet about what Im doing but give me money.
Well if we're sharing theories. In one of the recent interviews, Geko spoke at about new-player retention issues, so maybe this is that. Instant heals are definitely a simpler concept for people to wrap their heads around, and letting those be overlapped gives beginners the tools to keep themselves alive against dumb enemies longer. I remember when I was starting, and that it was frustrating not to have a basic heal.
We all aggree the big mistake was not removing the shield redistribution from TT at the same time, because as has been said we went from everybody using TT because its mandatory, to everybody still using TT because its still mandatory to also using ST and ET at nearly full-time. The ability to chain these things non-stop at higher levels is also predictably bad on some setups. And its extremely irritating that the feedback listening period was essentially ceremonial.
Both Geko and D'Angelo have spoken about the focus on new players...the past two years has shown a continued lowering of the bar to make the game as "available" as possible to the widest berth of potential player skill as possible.
Geko believes the game has a robust endgame. D'Angelo thinks the game needs more replayability instead of just more straight repetition. But the focus is on new players and not player retention at this point...
They're going for over 1 billion served instead of having a set of returning customers...which is kind of confusing when you also hear the talk from them explaining certain events as a desire to get folks to return to log in with the hopes while they're logged in they will also spend...unless, you look at it all as being a simple cash grab to start with and gimmicky sales for some additional cash infusions.

Which all in all just gets kind of depressing...
I think you're absolutely correct. I really think that Cryptic has approached Star Trek Online in the same way that developers of phone app games do, just one step more developed. They draw us in because it's the Star Trek name, with iconic Star Trek ships. Once inside though, the goal is to enthrall the new player with all kinds of possibilities, make them realize that to catch up to current players they'll have to spend real money, and once they spend the money and have played through the content.... no need to cater to them any longer.
Back when Cryptic talked about removing PvP entirely, I didn't understand it at first. But now I think I do. PvP shines a light on the fact that STO isn't a serious MMO. In the end, Cryptic decided that it was, in fact, making money: there was no reason to remove it as most people didn't play it anyways. It's probably the only reason it's still around.
But it's also why I can't take it seriously when they claim to be focusing their attention on PvP. I'm not saying that there aren't people inside of Cryptic working to make it better and more in depth. At the end of the day, though, those who are financially in charge of STO know it can never be allowed to happen. Shining a brighter light on the weakest part of the game (balance) won't bring positive results.
What I've realized is that this model isn't something Cryptic has even tried to hide. We choose not to see it because it's our beloved Star Trek. We choose not to see it because at one point before free-to-play, it was supposed to be a serious MMO. But at the end of the day, profit has brought us to where we are, and profit will dictate where it's going.
All of us should be able to see where it's going by now, and Cryptic has not hidden that fact from us. Those of us left haven't been able to accept it as truth. I hadn't been able to accept it as truth (and a part of me still wants to believe there is hope).
The problem is me. The problem is us. We want something that will never be, and we can't seem to walk away.

You will see me there vaping ur pants off bruh! haha. If you desire
See you all in SC! In the meantime hit me up in MWO

I don't want a complete joke of difficulty all the time.
thats BS.That means people log in from time to time (casual) don't bother to learn the game but pump money in it.
I want a business like that where people don't give a shet about what Im doing but give me money.
