I created an open private channel for my fleet to use when they are on other character not in the fleet. I had my officers as admins for the channel. One of them muted a member. When that admin left the channel (he decided to leave the fleet and take a break from the game), he didn't unmute the muted member. I've tried to unmute this member myself as I am the owner of the channel, but it didn't work.
-member tried to leave and rejoin the channel, but is still muted.
-unable to contact the admin that muted him, so not sure if he is the only one who can unmute this member.
-I've tried promoting this member to admin but he couldn't unmute himself.
-I've tried having anther admin unmute this member, but he is still muted.
This has been a known issue for a long time and there is no indication that it is on their radar to be fixed any time soon (before 2016).
Your only 3 options are for that person to suffer and not be able to use the channel, have that user start a new account (oh what fun), or start a brand new channel and have everyone switch over.
Also warn your admins and moderators about this bug. Have them perform a channel kick instead of muting.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
