give me $60 I level your character for you.

You know there would actually be a market for this. The reason I won't do it is because you can mess around in my entire account. No thanks.

Yeah.... well leveling is not the issue. He wants the entire rep unlocked. That I wouldn't do for 60 $/€

Shows how bad Power Leveling must be in WoW if they are offering to Power Level your characters for you. Have come to the opinion that the WoW-killer is WoW and this confirms it.

So for a small fee of 60 dollar, you can now ruin other peoples' time by being a complete gimp in group content, not knowing how to play the character, and not having the assets (Gear and in case of STO, Officers and their abilities) to perform?
    Sounds Fine - NOT.

Agreed. Play the game, or don't, but hell no to buying premade characters for the terminally lazy and entitled.

That falls under "or don't," then. If you don't have time to play, then don't play- but take your uppity entitlement and shove it. If you don't have time to level the character in this stupid-easy-mode game, then you don't have the time to play it at all. So don't.

Personally I could not care less how someone gets to 50 in STO. It is not like I spend a lot of time now wondering if the player I just passed in Sector Space got to 50 via Episode Missions, PvP, Patrol Missions, DSEs, Doffing, Foundry, whatever. :)
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Meh. It is his money. Let him spend it how he wants to. He'll still have to learn to play, even with all the toys unlocked for him already. And, it will take just as long as if he started from the beginning. He'll have Rep but no Marks or EXP. So even with the Store unlocked he'll have a Lvl 50 toon swanning about in a VA ship.
    With White gear for both.

Oh yeah. This is gonna work out swell. And he'll never see it coming.

May I ask where in any of the OP posts did he/she come across as being entitled? I mean yes you have the choice in playing or not playing but its a bit harsh and extremely rude to tell him or anyone really to shove it? It's not like he asking for everything to be given to him on a plate he's just trying to see what other people thought of the idea. Its a game not work so your attitude is quite frankly rude and offensive.

Just my 2 cents though :)

It's a shame Cryptic doesn't offer us a way to unlock everything in the C-store for free by simply doing some sort of repetitive tasks.

like enter my credit card info i know shame on them :D

Sure you can. And I can answer the question:
    vocmcp wrote: »
    Why?
Because I want to min/max a build without having to spend tons of time on it. I'd rather spend the money.

There's your answer, plain and simple. Unless you don't see any entitilement in the concept "I want to be at the top, but want someone else to do all the work of getting there," in which case you're saying more about yourself than anything else.
It's not like he asking for everything to be given to him on a plate he's just trying to see what other people thought of the idea.

    Yup, telling on yourself.
Just my 2 cents though :)

My 2 cents: you can shove it too. :P

The problem is that some people don't have this time or don't want to spend that much time on nothing but cumbersome repetitive stuff. I'm about to get into work life after university and there's no way I'll spend an entire weekend just to level a character. I simply don't have "a few days" to waste. I want to continue to play STO but I want to enjoy it. Leveling a character, just to have a specific min/max build for PvP, is not my idea of it.

So for me I'm left with
    - not leveling chars anymore and play the game less (or stop altogether because progression is way to slow)
    - or actually spend money on the game, for almost the first time that is, and continue to enjoy the game with the limited time I'm about to have.

Personally I'm in the transition between uni and work life. A stage that is, for me personally, quite critical and it will definitely influence the way I play STO. I can see more people with that issue and some "customer retention" effort on Cryptics side would definitely do good.

So yeah, if this option is restricted to people who own at least one lvl 50 character for the sought after faction then I could see this work. Btw. this would also make an interesting 1000 day subscriber perk.

In short, if you are getting a job, finding disposable income to spend on a hobby like a video game is easy.

    Very easy.

So do what others who work full time and play this game casually do.

    Buy zen.

Maybe in the future we can just pay for the memory of playing the game--Total Recall! Call Arnold and tell him we have an idea for a sequel. :D

Terrible, at the rate its going, in another five years, it will still have more four times as many players than STO.

There is an entitlement issue, while the OP doesn't have to spell it out, he is saying that he has so much disposable income that he doesn't even want to actually play the game, but skip it to the end. He might as well ask for the first two tiers of reps, full R&D, and the majority of the accolades minus the really easy ones because he doesn't want to appear lazy.

Buying a level 50 with all of the reputations maxed...

And for my amusement, what price do we think PWE would set on that? Considering they just tried to sell us a $100 9-ship variant bundle?

Something tells me it'd be cheaper to buy the LTS.

And yet the "buy your way to the top" pack would still sell, since the entitlement issue at stake is "But ah don't want to waste all that tiiiiiiime playing the boring gaaaaaame!"

No WoW is "giving" away 1 level 90 character per account in their next expansion because max level is going to 100, its a tactic to get newer players near end game without having to spend the time grinding it out, thus having more people available for the newer end game content. You can purchase additional lvl 90 characters for 60 bucks. They are not getting end game gear they are getting level 90 gear which will be oudated gear when the 100 cap is released

Why would STO do this? It literally takes less then 1 week to hit 50...Do you want a option to pay cash to get Rep gear quicker?...Buy a account bank and use the tokens for 2X rep...there ya go.

Also no one should ever do something WoW is doing...its never a good example lol

Instant gratification has a nasty habit of leading to instant disappointment and getting an instant high level character would eventually mean what? A bunch of high level toons running around that don't know where anything is, have no high level gear and have no idea how to play the game?
I can just imagine the entiltled QQing coming from that lot on forums now.
Is this for real because it sounds like the kind of service a gold farmer would sell.

Ok, truth time. Playing as a low-level character in any game usually sucks. Champs, for instance, is downright painful to play as a low-level character. City of Heroes was pretty grindy at low-level. Neverwinter was surprisingly satisfying to play as a low-level character. STO comes somewhere in between.

I can well understand why somebody might want to buy their way out of that, especially if they endured it before with other characters.

(Hint: You can. They sell boosts in the C-Store)

What I don't see is PWE's incentive to sell instant endgame, at any price. They'd be as likely or more likely to drive players away than they would to attract them. And they probably wouldn't be the "sticky" players that they like.

I've heard of it but I don't really believe it, I really doubt anyone could stay in one place and level entirely by doffing, but in any case they still have to do something to level up their characters, it's not a blatant pay to win exploit like we are discussing.

I did it in Sirius Sector, ESD, and Academy: level 7 to 50 only Doffing. Of course I also had a character who went from 7 to 50 only doing three Foundry missions per day.
Wow... WoW is still pay to play and yet you are going to pay month to month to play a game and then pay more to not play that vary same game? Vary illogical. If I don't want to play a game, I ignore that game, no money, no problem.
