    Hey kyox626,

I think you can join now TBH. I'd be willing to help you out and as I mentioned in my first post it would be a great way to learn the STF's.

If you change your mind leave your @handle or contact me in game [email protected]

This certainly sounds like fun. I've been experimenting with a phaser build lately anyway, so thats a good timing.

You can add me whenever you want.
Not on too often, and playing a lot with my fleet, but I'd be interested in flying in this style every now and then.

One question though: am I allowed to use the MACO set on my Excelsior? I can disable visuals if needed, but I really, really love it.... :P

Anyway, my ingame handle is @rahmkota19.

I think we had a real full team yesterday and correct me if I'm wrong but I think we all had a BLAST!

The sound of a full team using phasers/quants/photons felt like something from the show =D

I love this idea. I actually suggested a similar idea to my old fleet (as maybe a biweekly pvp/fleet event). Please add me in game ! Handle is @ACEMAN97 (all caps) :D

The Fleet I am currently in ran a Budget Build competition awhile back. Nothing higher than either Mk XI Green or some of the things one can acquire from running PvE storyline missions was allowed. I've run a few KDF ships this way and had a good time with them. I had an MU Sovvy all outfitted in Mk XI Green gear and she did alright in STFs.

Like the idea a lot. Please include me. Ingame is @thunderfoot1007
Nope. It ain't Discovery. Ain't Picard, either. It's you.

    Invite sent!

The fun part is having to actually work for the optionals but still complete STF's in good time. It's actually started to replace my daily grind as in this is the way I fly my ships now.

Funny how I worked 7 months to get the high end gear only to back down to MK X gear.. ahahahah

If you want a real challenge, try playing without any Boff/item abilities. Just survive on power presets and shield distribution. It really makes you have to think about when and where to use your limited power levels so you can keep your shields up, weapons effective, and stay fast enough to maneuver.
Go here and show your support for a better Foundry!

Have tried that and it is indeed challenging...

Was also thinking if a group gets together to have that particular ship have only certain Boff abilities for example the Defiant only gets to use CRF or the Akira uses TS/HY.

Point is to make you work and enjoy the game.

I had the same idea for some time and after reading your post i dumped all my plasma disruptor polaron and all nn fed weapons and started buying MK XI gear. I dont have much MK XII gear and it's all on my Dyson Destroyer as i've been running the Sovereign and Galaxy so far.

I've got a sci fed at level 50 and usually do good in PvE. I definitely support your idea and can't wait to see you in game.

Here is my load out for this.

    http://skillplanner.stoacademy.com/?build=stbdc_3190

    Weapons: 98/80
    Shields: 82/55
    Engines: 57/25
    Auxiliary: 56/40

Only purple is the Wide-Angle Quantum Torp launcher.

And it is an Aux2Bat build at the moment. May change it up later on.

If the guidelines change, I'll modify it to stay within the limits.

Wow nice, as I mentioned before I have been using endgame gear for survivability and sometimes with it I still pop. You can use this if you'd like, it's totally up to you. I myself use the wide angle on my Defiant, Regent and Galaxy X.

We had our 2nd full team yesterday and we did Fed alert as Blockade and the feed back from the people who signed up was VERY positive.

The blockade made us really work for saving our 15 ships but it was good as we worked as a team to save those ships. Everyone had a blast.

Hope to see more of these groups formed =)

As a participant of both instances, I have to say that I haven't enjoyed myself that much for quite a while!

Firstly, the team was great - more than able to take whatever was thrown at us.

Secondly, no huge DPS OP ships - it actually felt challenging, but NOT overwhelmingly so - again, there was NO doubt we'd complete, but no 'danger' of them being a two minute vape-fest.

Thirdly, as I was playing my primary character - Sci in my trusty Fleet Rhode Island, I was able to put crowd control to good use. Was also able to put my heal abilites to good use, since the escorts present did suffer a little shield deterioration AND we had at least one player who was at level 25 (but did VERY well nonetheless).

And there were other aspects I enjoyed, but definitely the biggest bonus, for me, was that it made me feel worthwhile, which means a lot when you find yourself to be little more than a spectator in instances of ISE (for example) where two OP Scimitars vape everything in two mintues flat.

Anyway - Thanks again guys, and hope to team up with you again as soon as possible!

My own suggestion for weapons load out is to use the default load out of the ship, you know, the ones it comes equipped with fresh out of dry dock. You can see what these are on stowiki here, http://sto.gamepedia.com/Playable_starship, if you don't want to bother with dismissing and reclaiming your ship.

Last time I parsed my Science captain in a Intrepid retrofit beam boat I got between 5-6K and that was with the old MK XI [borg] beam arrays, so I think I'm good to go.

Would anyone who has posted their handle here object to getting an ingame Friend Request from myself? If so, that's fine. I understand completely. If you are okay with a Friend Request, great! Joined this channel to try running missions and such in a group more often. This game is a lot more enjoyable when played with friends. If you'd prefer to send the Friend Request yourself, my ingame handle is - @thunderfoot1007.

BTW, my KDF chars and their sturdy Rihannsu ally are all currently Fleetless. Long past time I did something about that. So if any of you have an opening in your KDF Fleet, a Fleet Invite would be much appreciated. I want to get a Fleet Mogai for my Rommie. Thanks in advance.

EDIT: Ooops forgot to tell you what timezone I am in - CST(GMT -6). Might make it easier to coordinate. I also have the TS3 Client installed.

    Ditto!

This is the reason why I started the thread/channel. It has brought back so much enjoyment to STO for me once again. So much so that I have sunk most of my resources to getting the Sao Paulo & Galaxy X. I had the dil and really it was just sitting there. I have to tweak the Gal X a bit but I need a parser to tell me what Im doing so I think im going to get one just for the sake of making it usefull as I feel that my Defiant is better.

I have still gone ballz out build with my MVAE AP build but it's NOT as fun as STB style!

Im on always everynight for at least a couple of hours so hit me up thru the channel or PM me.

I have been contemplating on going lower than MK X gear but have found that it hits the 4 - 6K mark between 4 of my STB builds. I have mentioned on the front page that can do anything below MK XII, I said that keeping in mind how expensive phasers can get. My plan is to parse and see where everyone is at.

I your hitting 5 - 6K then your in line with my MVAE with all MK X blue phasers/quants/torps. My free Akira from in game does 4 - 5k, Defiant hits 3 - 4 and my Gal X seems around the 3k?.. (another thread to address the Gal X but I bought it to have fun)

When I'm in game next I will send you an invite - thanks

My handle is all over this thread and I don't mind being added as a friend. I agree that the game becomes that more enjoyable when playing with same minded people.

Regarding comms, I highly encourage using it (I have access to mumble & TS) as it will make this eaiser to coordinate as well as communicate.

Im MST so I'm always on every night, sometimes longer than others but will always be in game to do my daily dill cap.

Ran a KASE and an CSE this morning, got around to un-retrofitting a Defiant, and we ran as a group of 4, A Sao, a Defiant, a Fleet Nova (no prises for guessing who) and an Excelsior, (plus a KDF Dyson) and it was very fun. In the CSE, we only had 27 seconds to spare, beofre we lost the optional! It was great to be facing to clock again for once.

Yeah - that instance was an absolute BLAST! Loved every minute, and loved that I was (again) not only able to use crowd control, but it was actually necessary for me to do so.

And I guess my choice of ship is somewhat predictable, but I make NO apologies for this; it's my drop-dead favorite, most effective, and best-equipped ship, and I don't enjoy ANY ship more than I enjoy my trusty Fleet Nova. :P

Thanks.. might only be a select few but looking to fly with more captains in the future. I think TS3 would help for sure. Need to look into how to create one, I use TS for my fleet so maybe just as easy as creating a channel?

I had loads of fun with this. Thanks to Sol's strategy it did make it possible to obtain the optional and beat the STF. I think the DPS we are packing is sufficient enough and we just need to tweak our roles in these STF's.

As well I ran it past you guys but I wanted to see if we can come up with our own individual "ARX" or Attack Run X which would be a sort of attack formation. I think that could be a lot of fun and it can be orientated to suit your captain/ship.

    Look forward for more!

The way the game should've been, ships pigeon holed into specific weapons and gear....wouldve been so much more easier to moderate and cater to.

Alas, if I didn't take a sabbatical for my newborn. I'd be all over this.

Curious question: would the mobius be antiproton beams?
