New Captain Class: Family Class!

Use the power of love, friendship and heart to beat back the bad guys in mysterious ways! Crew size boosts the power of your abilities and more!

Lieutenant: Healing Hands (Space: Increase crew regen) / Encouragement (Ground: Passively increases damage of allies)

Lt. Commander: Guidance (Space: Boosts the effectiveness of Cruiser Commands,Sensor Analysis, and Tactical Patterns in Escorts) / Guidance (Ground: Passively increases accuracy of allies)

Commander: Motivation (Space: Decreases All boff cool downs) / Motivation (Ground: An active that boosts all passive skills)

Captain: Lead by Example (Space: Uses the number of alive crew to boost the effectiveness of all boff abilities) / Unsurpassed Willpower (Ground: Passive resistance to slow, roots and stuns)

Vice Admiral (Low Half): Undying Trust (Ground: Passively increases defense of all allies)

Vice Admiral (Upper Half): United Fleet (Space: Increases Impulse Thrusters, Starship Maneuvers, and Particle Generator)

    First .. Probably should have been posted in Ten Forward, but ...

    I'd actually go with another class (erm ... maybe not this one exactly) as long as it's not yet another excuse to have MOAR GUNZ and MOAR 'SPLOSIONS! ...

    I swear sometimes i wonder if the Cryptic Devs are'nt all secretly fanboi's of JJ-Trek.

    While i would actually appreciate another class, i think most of us would rather have it be something a little more Trek related

    Indeed, crew size does need to become a larger factor. A shame I didn't think of more crew sized related shenanigans.

    I understand that desire that a lot of players have. But it's just not a good path to set yourself upon. Crew size in this game is a very broken mechanic and the people who can fix it, aren't the people who created the problem. So any fix will create more problems.

    Conceptually I can sympathize with where you're coming from.

    But realistically? It's pandora's box. Let's leave it shut.

    I like your concepts and think your new class is fun and creative, btw.

    Just no, no, NO to any and all ideas that suggest the devs even try to touch the crew mechanic. They'll break way more than they fix. We need to band together and prevent that. Yes it's a thread dangling on the sweater that is STO. Just leave it be!

    I'm in two minds about the class, I quite like the concept and even some of the abilities and if the crew system it's based on were working properly and more abilities actually worked more based on the system I think as a class it could be viable as an alternative to straight DPS, certainly as a potential tank/healer/science substitute.
