All this thread tells me is that ISE as a measuring stick has become obsolete.

We should probably switch to NWS as the new measure of overall DPS. At least in that one you might have a downtime or two, or maybe even an instance lasting more than a couple cycles of APA.

I dont run record runs or have the highest deeps (max so far is 29k on the scim) out there, but typically run about a 2-2 1/2 minute ISE, 2-3 minute CSE, 5 minute HSE, 4 minute KASE with even a competent team, not a high end one.

    This is borderline silly really.

For pure lulz ive resorted to outfitting tier 1 and 2 ships and pugging it, just for something that doesnt end in a blink of an eye.

Still push 4-6k on those baby ships, its like cmon!!!

NWS shouldn't be a measure of sustained dps. If you play NWS right (and yes there are right and wrong ways to play), all it consists of is 10 waves of pure spike. However since scrubs gonna scrub and take a while on their flank, the combat time is extended, more bios will spawn and your dps will go down solely due to other players.

And just gonna throw this out here, I've seen spikes of 120k for some waves.

The same scimitars that can do real high numbers in ise, can also get high numbers in cse and hse. Pretty sure that atm mal holds all the records for those.

What's also funny is "The Breach", which is an infinitely superior space STF (yes I know it's not an actual STF) takes 3-4 times as long yet rewards about half of that of a Borg STF... With one implant being the max you can be rewarded, unlike a Borg STF which can reward 11.

I am working on fully understanding the Aux2Bat setup. I am curious if it can work with cannon builds, or if it is strictly a beam thing.

Been awhile since I tried SB 234 to remember if it has enough HP to live past a APA cycle to make it usable for this, and no way to trigger GDF, but would agree that both 1) ISE as a measure has been broken for quite some time now (and really all the STFs now that the general dps level is high enough to effectively capture APA+GDF effects with little/no downtime), and 2) NWS is definitely not the right venue to measure either

I still have to see that, because 90% of the time I encountered a bfaw scimitar in the queues it exploded faster to my alpha strikes than well anyone. Heck many even blew up in Kerrat to my Sci B'rel torpedo boat. I don't really believe that myth. Just stick to their aft side, pew away and watch them wiggle out of your firing arc before they die. Priceless.

That only happen when you see 1 scim, but if you see 5 scims (from dps-30000 that are on ts3) everything melts.

Scimitars ve been always op, thats a fact. But then, if cryptic nerfes the scimitar a bit, everyone will be complaining and stop playing STO.. lol. And i wonder if someday they will change the scimitar size.
