Well...for those that haven't spent Lobi to reduce the grind...
If you've played A Step Between Stars and put up with Q's stupid party patrol every day since the anniversary event began, people should be getting their Science Destroyers today.
the biggest complaint, is its got too much fluff.. honestly, there are too many skills to juggle, not only is it a nightmare when speccing, but you spend the whole time paying attention to your "rotation" (for a lack of better words) than actually paying attention to whats going on..
on top of the skill inundation, you have to worry about what spec your running in, tac or sci.. also, in all the testing we have done, no matter how we build it, its just not pumping out anything remotely close to good numbers in dps. the ship makes a decent tank, but star trek online has no use for tanks, so again, its a fairly useless ship..
even with the addition of a tenth console at the end of the month, our projections are that you wont see many of them around for long.. the juice just isn't worth the squeeze.. expecially when all the other sci ships get the secondary deflector...
Because of all this.
Will you continue to grind Qmendations for next year?
I probably will, in the hope that next year they will come up with something remotely useful.
It might actually retire my fleet dhelan on Kailiana.
That's just crazy talk. If anything it has made me appreciate my Dhelan more. Fast turnrate and five tac consoles is waaaaay better than any mid-level sci ship for clearing hostiles.
Got mine today. Flew it around for a bit and quickly shoved it back into dry dock. Went back to my Vesta. I can see some value in it for KDf/Roms, but for Fed? Nah. Forget that.
An actual Romulan color scheme would have been nice. I was pleased to see you could switch out the bridge, that's a half-step there. I think the ability to paint the ship in a traditional way, would be pretty lore friendly. Not asking for a Zebra scheme or anything.
I'm happier with the Aves than I expected to be, although I'll be getting back in my fleet Mogai once the newness wears off.
I haven't tried the other two yet, but plan on using the Nov on my KDF alt at least. He's science and I wasn't planning on picking up any C store ships for him anyway.
As for doing the grind again, what grind? Once we learned how to game the system, there was no grind. I'm gonna keep doing it this year right up till the 27th, unless they actually fix the minigames. Easy dilithium on alts I don't play much and credit towards next year if they do the same thing again.
I only got mine on my Tact captain (Which I actually deleted since I was bored with him, rerolling ftw lol or lose idk) Honestly it felt meh for a tact captain, but I could see it being pretty useful for sci captains if for nothing else then to have the ability to use DHC, and being able to pop a Omega 3 before popping your sci abilities.
Havent played sci in a while, planning on making a Rom sci soon but id personally rather fly the fleet Ha' guardian.

well Shield cosmetics still work on it if that helps at all, saw a Fed using the breen set on his the other day.
Well, was able to fly it on my fed-engi for a bit. I like it pretty well to be honest. The sci to tac switching is nice .. wish more ships had it (sci to eng, eng to tac..) would make gameplay more interesting.
The Aves- and Nov-class ships are absolutely fantastic, and the Solanae-class brings Feds a SECOND Science Vessel that can mount DHCs. The built-in Proton DHC is not to be trifled with, as by itself does pretty high amounts of damage. Ideally, I'd run the Solanae-class with 1 DHC, 1 DBB and a Torp, as well as the Proton DHC when I'm in tac mode, and I'd even go so far as to swap the Torp for another DHC, and use BO3 as my 'torpedo'.
Nimble, seating that promotes AoE destruction, and they look cool. Great ships, all in all.
...expecially when all the other sci ships get the secondary deflector...
That should include the dual hangar bay carriers, as they don't have the cruiser commands, only 6 weapon slots, and subsystem targeting, like all science vessels.

Hell, no. The ship is absolute TRIBBLE.
Because of all this.

Cheers.
