I m not asking for much but the B'rel is the only KDF ship with an andvanced Battlecloak. It can not compete by any means with the T'Varo for various reasons even though the B'rel has all universal BO's.
Why am I whining about the B'rel ?
You give the agressive tac oriented Klingons ships which haven't made much sense since the beginning of this game.
The B'rel is raider call it a hit and run ship if you must however the fleet version has 4 eng consoles while by any sense of what the Klingons are like it should be 4 tac consoles. By all the ships out there its not a balance issue its a common sense issue. Not much people play a B'rel anymore in pvp because they rarely stand a chance against anything else people fly. The raider bonus joke will not change the fact that the B'rel needs love and is otherwhise underpowered.
I m serious Cryptic what genius thought that a Bird of Prey needs 4 eng consoles ? You guys think that ship is suppose to be a tank or something like that ?
So maybe just maybe look into this matter and change it. I find it a joke to begin with that the fleet version takes a T5 Starbase Military while better ships can be purchased in lower Tiers.
The B'rel needs love...

Why not? A thread like this has worked so well for the Galaxy Class...
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.
All Fleet ships always get an extra Engineering console slot. Personally, I'm never gonna understand how, in the mind of some Cryptic developer, "support your fleet" somehow translated to "extra Engineering capabilities"; fleet support can come in any form, such as increased firepower or advanced combat repair abilities.
Regardless, this is the standard, and it's not gonna change for any ship any time soon I'm afraid.
Maybe use that extra Engineering console to try and improve your own survivability? Maybe with a damage resistance console or something? That's probably gonna be as good as it gets here.

I agree that more or less quiet a few ships need some updates in terms of BO layout or console layout and i know the only reason why that is not under consideration is the money they make with the OP layout Lockbox Ships. So baicly money over balance. But you can't blame me for trying who knows maybe they will bring updated ships in the future for purchase or lockboxes so that they can at least make some money on it and we can fly ships we actually like not just in PVE missions.

if it does not work, use the ship as a torpedo, if it works the warriors are honored for bringing victory.

Well if i m not mistaken the T'Varo has a 333 layout and get an extra Tac Console slot.
I think its a few ships who get extra tac or science consoles. Its cruisers who usually get an extra eng console not raiders or escorts. But yeah I could have made that post a year ago I just recently started missing flying a BoP. All my major KDF toons went into retirement because of the lag of KDF ships they can use in a meaningful way.

The B'rel having universal stations is not a reason for the romulan T'varo to say 'hey, you have all universal consoles, I have these consoles' ...why? Because the T'varo has the ADDITIONAL benefits of Singularity powers.
Given that the T'varo receives the same enhanced cloak plus a 2-console set that directly enhances torpedo damage and reload timer it would be fair to 'up' the B'rel to equivalent level.
For this, I suggest a single tier-5 zstore console to be added to the B'rel (not the fleet version) that gives the B'rel an ability that matches in functionality the FOUR benefits that the T'varo receives with its 2-consoles & set bonuses.
Console: Enhanced battle cloak grants torpedo bonuses based on ship's weapon power settings. These bonuses become linked to the enhanced cloak. Literally, when the ship decloaks these bonuses are triggered.
Weapon Power: Increases torpedo and mine damage by X% per 1 point of power for a max of 15% bonus @ 125 power setting. Bonus damage buff duration is 10 seconds.
Shield Power: Increases HP on Destructible projectiles (heavy torpedoes and mines) by 25% max @ 125 shield power. Buff is permanent upon projectile launch.
Engine Power: Like the above, except it increases the travel speed and defense of destructible torps/mines up to 2x @ 125 engine. Buff is permanent upon projectile launch.
Aux Power: Aux power increases the duration of secondary effect of the projectile weapon. All dots, stuns, slow, etc receive bonus of up to 2x duration @ 125 aux power
Ironic at any turn of events in this game the b'rel is quickly nerfed if it gets some kind of closeness to being used as it was in canon as a torpedo bomber. Yet they push out a t'varo as a torp bomber and give it a special set to do so.
I've been trying for over 3 years to get them to do something like they did with the t'varo for the b'rel but unless this new EP/returning EP gets the KDF where we can have some canon uniqueness since most of our content we play has to rely on not Klingon type content but reputation gear of borg, tholians, romulan, etc to try to simulate canon.
Anyways glad to hear more voices on this front but lets hope they have learned from their mistakes
simple answer make all ships fully configurable. Add a computer core which determines your console slots, a bridge which determines bridge layout, and tactical whatever that determines weapon layout. There you go now you choose your ship on looks rather than how OP its layout is. Especially since the designers seemed to have no idea how to layout ships effectively anyway. For example I see no reason or advantage to an ensign tactical at least compared to science or engineering. I also hate that the only 4 tac BOP is ugly as sin. In fact I find the best ships are the ugliest in most cases. Till then I fly what I like and push it to its limits.

DISHONOR ON YOU, DISHONOR ON YO' COW...
But seriously the B'rel shouldn't even be in this game. It's a hundred and fifty years old. Let it rest.
Why not just make a T5 C-store B'Rotlh and Fleet B'Rotlh with the changes the fans want, then you can use the B'Rel skin on it and bam a awesome T5 Fleet BOP with more tactical and can look like a B'Rel if players want and be competitive with the Fleet T'Varo and Fleet Defiant.

I m serious Cryptic what genius thought that a Bird of Prey needs 4 eng consoles ? You guys think that ship is suppose to be a tank or something like that ?
The B'rel needs love...
It was given a 4th engineering slot to give it a touch more survivability since that?s what players were complaining about.
Its already getting the new flank buff what more do you want?
You give the agressive tac oriented Klingons ships which haven't made much sense since the beginning of this game.

Alright, here goes: While the added Engineering console was a weird choice to say the least, I think you're overvaluing the bonus from a single Tac console. The damage boost from a single tac console, while it helps, isn't going to make or break the B'rel. Granted, the value of Tac consoles has gone up with the Spire consoles adding CritD and CritH, but these can be covered with a single extra universal console in the Engineering slot.
In the end, I would've valued an extra Sci console much more than an Engineering one, because of all the Sciency wonder a cloaked torpedo B'rel can pull out. 4x Grav Gen Gravity Wells are fun. Besides, it'd fill a gap in the line-up of Raiders more than an Engineering console. Hoh'sus is the tactical bird, B'rel could've - and in my humble opinion should've - filled a science gap in our layout.
Not much people play a B'rel anymore in pvp because they rarely stand a chance against anything else people fly. The raider bonus joke will not change the fact that the B'rel needs love and is otherwhise underpowered.
I've flown, and still fly, a B'rel since F2P. While it's a weaker ship to bring into an Arena fight - which it always has been, mind you - it's still a fine ship to go hunting with in Ker'rat or Cap and Hold. I see quite a few players in the Fleet B'rel in there. It's a ship that just works nicely with a wingman. If you're a tac captain? Bring a sci wingman. Sci? Tac.
I m serious Cryptic what genius thought that a Bird of Prey needs 4 eng consoles ? You guys think that ship is suppose to be a tank or something like that ?
Like I said earlier: I agree it's an odd choice. However, it gives you a little room to play with. I've been derping around with an EptE1/Aux2Damp/EptS3 B'rel with 4x Fleet RCS for a while. It's a fun little spin-around ship. Warning: do not fly if prone to dizzyness.
Also, Engineering slots are not just for armour. What's that, you say? Well, my hit-and-run B'rel actually flies around without armor and makes good use of those extra engineering slots to boost damage even further. I can pretty much slot all the sexy universal consoles I like. You're not staying in the fight anyway, are you? Also, armor has massive diminishing returns, so slot something else.
So maybe just maybe look into this matter and change it. I find it a joke to begin with that the fleet version takes a T5 Starbase Military while better ships can be purchased in lower Tiers.
The B'rel needs love...
The T5 prerequisite is a bit silly, I agree. However, plenty of T5 starbases around already. Join a Public Service channel and grab your Fleet B'rel for free.
I'm actually just fine with the place the B'rel is in right now. It's damage, while lower than the T'varo's (I'm looking at you, Romulan Bridge Officers) is still just fine. With all Universal Slots, you can put all kinds of sexyness on your B'rel. It's a bit of a jack-of-all-trades, not a straight up Tac ship.
Let me ask you a question: If you're running it like a hit-and-run vessel - as you should :P -, what is your spec/build? Pulling 70k BO3 crits with it right now on a regular basis, with just +beam damage consoles (Sexy, sexy Proton Barrage). Spike damage is in such an overpowered spot right now, the added tac console would just be lost in the string of vapes.
Short Answer: B'rel is fine. Engineering console is fine. It's an iconic sexy ship. Klingon Warriors make do with what they get, and don't whine about it.

I m serious Cryptic what genius thought that a Bird of Prey needs 4 eng consoles ? You guys think that ship is suppose to be a tank or something like that ?
I think they thought people would add armor consoles. It used to be the most agile ship, so I suspect they thought people would armor it up for dogfighting.
You can see how their thinking about things "matured" a bit as more ships were introduced.
Timeframe for that? we're already a month past the end of the winter event, they've introduced new ships with new abilities and design concepts...but this flanking bonus, where is it?
Oh, right, 'tis on the Breen Raider ONLY. Still.
where it'll likely stay... in less the feds get it... then we'll get it two weeks after they do
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
so, add it to the list of fixes, changes, mechanics and content that Cryptic said they would do, but never specified WHEN-aka the 'when' being a day not ending (in english) with the letter 'y'?
more or less, in less just cause I said that it turns out it is coming in the next patch or season
if I stop posting it doesn't make you right it. just means I don't have enough rum to continue interacting with you.
The console is not the issue. One console rearranged is minor (esp since so many consoles are universal).
The bigger things IMHO is the BOP is down 1 weapon and has significantly weaker shields and hull. I would much rather see those two things equalized than move a console from e to t.
edit ^^^ tvaro comparison response to the orig post. Also, FWIW I have tanked in the tvaro with my eng. Even squishy ships are fine in PVE.

I would like to point out, that when STO released, there was no playable, endgame B'Rel.
Yes, yes, I know... the KDF pulled something off on the devs

When used together they can give a buff of;
+10% torpedo damage
- 33% reduction on fire and recloak effect of ABC.
