Tweak my Fleet Mogh build

I'm still leveling my Lethean engi but I'm planning to get him a Fleet Mogh for my endgame ship. Here's the plan so far for the IKS HoSbatlh.

This is mostly for PVE, although I do friendly PVP on occasion with fleetmates. Any advice, particularly on boff layout and what deflector, engine, and shield to use, is appreciated.

If you're interested, the name means something akin to "strength and honor".

3 techs, warp core cleanser, rsp doff, marion

Looked like you wanted an aux2bat cannon build, this is what you want.

The emergency power to engines is very much needed to bring cannons to bear.

A non aux2bat beam mogh is possible, but cannons arent so lucky.

    Cheers

Sure you can run a non-Aux2Bat cannon Mogh, just use EPtE and Aux2Damp.

    *shrug*

It's not like PvE targets have a tendency to up and run. Don't have a lot of trouble in PvP either, I must say.

So..are you giving up csv at global or ap:b / ap: o at global

It's a "just because you can, doesn't mean you should." deal, unfortunately

CSV often at global, actually. I'm using 2 cannon cooldown doffs - not 100% uptime, but definitely noticeable.

2 cannon cooldown doffs, 3 EPtX cooldown doffs, one Aux2Damp doff. If I run into some EC's I might replace one of the EPtX cooldown doffs with the EPtX Cleanse doff.

    TT1, AP:B1
    TT1, AP:B1, CSV2 (for PvP I use TT1, CSV1, APO1, here)
    TS1

    EPtE1, EPtS2, Aux2Damp2, Aux2SIF3
    HE1, TSS2

Really very sturdy build with good damage output. [AMP] core with 4 subsystems above 75 and the option of tossing my team mates frequent heals if needed.

aux2damp makes you faster, more nimble and more durable...but if your goal is more damage?

aux2batt makes you less durable, but adds a huge boost to dps due to shorter cooldowns.
though in my experiance it doesn't even make you a lot less durable, since your heal cooldowns are much, much lower.

so at the end, 2 different ends of a spectrum.

True, definitely depends on your goals.

I do a mixture of pugging and queued PvP with that character, with the occasional high-dps team PvE. In pugs and PvP the extra resilience and mobility is useful, as is the shareable Aux2SIF3. For dps channel teams, I suppose an aux2bat build would give higher results, as you don't need heals as much and you're guaranteed of a good team.

With regards to durability, btw, I do get a noticeable boost over A2B options, through the doffed Aux2Damp/Aux2SIF cycle - not just because of the hull heal but also the 100%-uptime resistance buff and the fact that I'm less vulnerable to drain and control builds. I've tried both and preferred non-A2B :)

Still, I'm not saying my build is the definitive Mogh build - far from it - just that it's an effective alternative. Considering the OP's being an Engineer and mention of PvP I figured I'd share.

I do generally tend to play offense more than defense. My Fed uses an Avenger with an aux2batt FAW build (no Marion, though; can't afford him).

What gear do you have on that?

    With that build, I'm running:

    4x Porarised Disruptor DHC's [acc][critd] + 1 Fleet Quantum
    KHG Mk XI Deflector
    KHG Mk XI Engines
Elite Fleet Overcharged Warp Core with [Eff][AMP][W->A][ECap][Trans]
    Elite Fleet Resilient Shields [Adapt][ResB][Cap]x2
    KCB + 2x Polarised Disruptor Turrets [acc]x2

    With for consoles:
2x Fleet RCS [ResAll], 2x Fleet Neutroniums [Turn]
    Assimilated Module, Plasmonic Leech
    4x Vulnerability Locater [Dis]

Or that's what I thought I was running, anyway. Logged in to check something for you, and it turned out I was running KHG Shield instead of fleet shield and a Positron Deflector Array Mk XII [FlwC][ShdS][SIF] instead of the KHG deflector. I should change that. I meant to run the above build.

Something like this would probably work. Not a fan of cannons on anything other than escorts, but maybe the Mogh is nimble enough to do it.
Sardak (Science Officer): Captain of a 23k DPS R'Mor Temporal Science Vessel, R.R.W. Vathos
Odan Brota (Science Officer): Captain of a 28k DPS Scryer Intel Science Vessel, U.S.S. Kepler
Patiently waiting for a Romulan Science Vessel

Mogh and Avenger have 9 turn base, 12 if you use the strategic maneuvering cruiser command, and I've seen an Av use dual cannons quite effectively in PVE.

But I admit I mainly want to use cannons on it for RP reasons. Klingon ships have always used cannons, not beams.

If you want to make the Mogh a beast.... you should probably make that an Aux2bat build with Attack Pattern Beta and Direct Energy Modulation/Beam Fire At Will.... and use beam arrays

BFAW is critting for insane damage on and even through shields on builds like that since the "fix."

My Fleet Mogh was 3-second poped along with 2 other PVPers I know from a Feddy Elachi battleship with that build

Have you thought about a hybrid AtB/AtD build using these doffs; (2) Techs, (1) AtD doff, (1) cleanse doff and (2) what ever doffs?
