Ferengi Epic Fail...

saurializardsaurializard Member Posts: 4,404 Arc User
So, one of my cunning and unscrupulous Ferengi traders came back from haggling for shapeshifting lockets and ended up in sickbay...
ScreenShot1159.png?raw=1

So that was a disaster... an epic disaster, because according to my special computer which is more precise than Fi from Skyward Sword, unscrupulous and cunning traders have a whopping ZERO % chance of disaster:
ScreenShot1158.png?raw=1

So my question is simple. Since apparently, there is no law against miserably failing an impossible-to-miserably-fail assignment (though, there should be one), what should I do to my trader once he's back from sickbay? Tell him how terrible it is? Use my Energy Whip? Space him? Throw him into an Iconian gateway? Publish the proof of his failure on Ferengibook because as a Ferengi, such a failure is unforgivable?

Just send a copy of the mission results to the Ferengi Commerce Commission on Ferenginar. Granted, you'll probably get a visit from Brunt Jr., and the Ferengi in question will probably have to return to Ferenginar for an inquisition, but he deserves what he gets, after all.

more like a <1% chance that simply got rounded down. ;)

Considering how many people run the assignment each day, there should be a good number that fail 0%-assignments. He is in good company. :)

    Plus interest.

Plus fees for the headache his failure caused you.

    Plus punitive damages.

    Subject him to Cher album.

Also technically the only assignments that you truly can't fail are the ones that don't even have a readout for failure or disaster, which are limited to recruitment and such. Even if it says 0% fail/disaster there's a decimal chance of it happening, it just doesn't get shown on the UI.

Could be worse, I had 5 common doffs die when vacationing on Risa.

Risa can be dangerous. Trip and Reed got tied up and robbed there.

I had two doffs end up in sickbay after checking sensor logs.

Risa? Risa is terrifying, people. If you're not careful, you might find yourself in the middle of Let He Who Is Without Sin. The worst fate imaginable in Trek.

Weep for your doffs, dracounguis. Weep.

This is in fact the response you are looking for OP.

There are no clean 0% or 100% in the DuOff system. The math usually read 99.5% for Crit (ish) and 0.5% for epic fail.

However, for some reason, cryptic has decided that removing the didget was a good idea. This was discussed several months ago, here in the forums, and a Dev came forward and admitted it.
Don't look silly... Don't call it the "Z-Store/Zen Store"...
Let me put the rumors to rest: it's definitely still the C-Store (Cryptic Store) It just takes ZEN.

Oh, don't worry, I'm very aware this is a rounded down percent, but the fail (Purple unscrupulous, cunning Ferengi on a trading assignment) was way too epic and ironic to be ignored.:D

Next time, I'll send a tribble. It'll fail but not that much.

Did that Ferengi happen to go with the name of Farek?

But in all interest. Try putting him to work on your starbase if he is white. If he isn't, check how much his skin is worth on the exchange.

Or just put him on the annoying assignments. Send him with some Vulcans to a conference about colonization in B'tran. Ow, only male Vulcans if he is a male. Ferengi kinda like some leggy Vulcan females (Drozana bartender).

He is ferengi, what did you expect ? He is probably gone from your roster by now, making a fortune selling those shapeshifting lockets.

On a side note, it's always sad to see a bugship mistreated that way :(

As a duly authorized officer of the Ferengi Revenue Marine, I will be revoking his business license and taking him into custody. I am transmitting the coordinates of our holding cell now.

In the KDF, we have a simple solution for these kind of mistakes:

    Execute for Incompetence!
    Current ship/builds:
    KDF Tac: Bortasqu' Tactical
    Fed Tac: Fleet Gal-X

    Keep those big guns a-thunderin'

Federation players need a "Take to Section 31 custody for "questioning"" assignment which always results in an injured Doff. Lethal "accidents" could happen, as critical succefailures, I mean failures, of course. :D

Ferengi's are not really trust worthy or competent. To trust a Ferengi is a invitement of disappointment. Gold pressed latinum is what they are loyal too everything else is cannon fodder.

But if you need Ferengi just bring a lot of Latinum. But beware of the rule 19 of acquisition : satisfaction is not guaranteed!

Another funny fail was on my KDF. Doing the Prisoner Transfer I loaded it up with 10 Ferengi prisoners and the mission failed in a disaster and they all got away. I promptly executed the guards that let those Ferengi get away! :D
