That thread has 164 pages. If we round up and assume the last page has 10 posts, then that means that thread has 1,640 posts in it. Assuming again, that you average five seconds to read through each post (which is low, as it appears to me that many of the posts are paragraphs in length), then that means it would have taken you well over two hours to read the entire thread. That seems unlikely.
I am computer savvy. Played online games for 15 years. If it was this hard for me to come back to STO, I can only imagine how hard it would be for someone less willing to suffer through figuring it out on their own.
Fix your knowledge base, make it easier for old players to return, and for the love of god DON'T refund a paypal payment unless asked to do so, that is a lot of money to be tied up for days. Even after 3 days when it goes back to paypal, it takes another 3-5 days to put it back in your account. If I was hurting for money I would have had to wait 5-8 business days to attempt to purchase it again. Luckily I can afford another $160 dollars and can wait to put the paypal money back in when I get the refund in my account.
Nitpicking is a time-honored tradition of science fiction. Asking your readers not to worry about the "little things" is like asking a dog not to sniff at people's crotches. If there's something that appears to violate natural laws, then you can expect someone's going to point it out. That's just the way things are.
Actually there is nothing wrong with the servers or game they just took them down so Branflakes and the rest of the Cryptic employees can read what we say on the forums about it.

Clearly they need more incentive to work faster.
Pop in a DVD of Enterprise and tell them you will keep them there and make them watch every single episode until the servers are up again.
