As a small federation fleet and a small Klingon fleet I know that we as a group would like to see the hourly events come back. Don't get me wrong the bonus mark weekend was nice; It came up just as our fleets hit the teir upgrade point. That being said it's going to take a while to finish these projects if there isn't going to be another for at least a month. This means that both of my fleets have been basicly stuck on the slow boat to China. At least with the hourly events going we could make some progress and feel like we actually accomplished something for that day.

Well, most of my marks came from doffing anyway, which was unaffected by this nerf, but you realize, of course, that reduced pay doesn't mean less armies of alts, it means YOU MUST CONSTRUCT ADDITIONAL PYLONS. So you're going to get MORE armies of alts. Alt-dynamics works like this: If income is reduced, you're going to have to make more to make up for the loss. If income is increased, you're going to have to make more capitalize on the increased gains.

Wait till they get their hands on doffing then we'll all cry. Mr. NoFun already mentioned in an interview that he can't wait to "improve" the doffing system. Let's look back at their previous "improvements":

    * They "improved" STF loots with rep system, replacing "instant lucky drop" with 20/40 days grind and rather sizable dil cost
    * They "improved" hourly events with (hmm... when can we expect next dil/marks event I wonder) let's say quaterly events
    * The whole Anniversary thing was a very serious "improvement"

As far as I can tell they didn't touch the doffing till now because:

    * they don't have developement capacity to do so, as the whole system is quiet complicated
    * selling doffpacks with OP doffs makes profits
    * sometimes OP doffs ofsett rather uninteresting lock box content

To my question "what's it like in neverwinter" some of my friends who play it replied: "you know how you can get stuff for free in STO just by spending more time in it? Well, there's nothing like that in Neverwinter. You have to pay for everything." So I guess this is something we will see in sto sooner or later.

Pfft... please... in my fleet the main bottleneck is dil costs. Everything else is easy to get. Fleet marks and Expertise are largely a formality. Don't act like you're special just because you're in a small fleet. My fleet has less than six players who contribute regularly. But we have no issues with Exp or FM.

And in my fleet (the one that isn't T5 already) the main bottleneck is doffs. They're such a PITA to contribute in bulk.

I miss the hourly events, not because I really cared about an extra 20% marks, but because they made it easier to organize groups. It just seemed to be a higher-activity period during the day. Used to be able to say, "hey, let's do a STF tour at 3 o'clock and then again an hour later", and people would make themselves available. It's harder to do that now.

Is slowing down rep and fleet progress the goal of this change? Probably not, as it won't affect large fleets or "grinders" who know how to farm marks at all. It'll do what Geko said and give them bursts of activity once a month or so. I'm not in any position to comment on what's best for business.

But just from my perspective as a player, removing the daily mark bonus is a mistake, but not necessarily because of the marks themselves.

Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.
