Update as requested: We still have a few loose ends to tie up regarding new head shapes and complexions. A little verbal (er...written) teaser - I'm sitting on more stuff than you're expecting :P Think you'll love it.

can't wait to see it :p

JJ Trek The Kelvin Timeline is just Trek and it's fully canon... get over it. But I still prefer TAR.

No, but that is a very helpful thread and we are interested in "getting our house in order" while generating new assets.

I know this is off-topic but...

Did they ever implement the eye texture updates?

That would be the best thing to ever happen to this game.

Thank you. All I really needed to know was that a dev had seen it :).

Aye. New is good. That said, I don't know If my brain has turned deranged or something. Without proof or other empiric studies I cannot say for sure, that I think the Normal 01 and 02 (female) skins has become to... ...clean. I have recently started enjoying Aged 01.
Funnily. My Trill Captain looks more... ...realistic. :D

She has the asian eyes. I think they look better than the, uh, non-asian ones. The non-asian ones looks like my (and other's) captains looks like they are on amphetamines. ;)

It seems so hard to ever get some back-and-forth going on with STO's Character Artists... so, please allow me a shameless plug where I know one might be paying attention.

Problem with the shoulder pad dual of Romulan females
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1015191
Ever since the 24th century TNG outfits came out, female pauldrons are effectively broken (cloth loops so large they look ridiculous = broken to me as it made me refuse to use them anymore). Republic female characters need access to the much better pauldron models they had before (which Romulan males still use). I'd like to be able to wear pauldrons and look cool while doing it once again.

Texture issues with Romulan Republic outfits
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1015251
Romulan Neutral uniform hiccups when worn by Romulan females, suggestion to pruce it up visually next to competitors (KDF/Fed-aligned uniforms).

Scrutinery on "Long Wavy" hairstyle for Romulan Females
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1015271
One of your prettiest romulan female hairstyle has some long-standing alpha channel problems that muck up transparencies at the end of hairlocks.

Cool Romulan costume concepts that didn't make the cut - and should've had!
    http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?t=1015301
New art asset ideas, because I can track down Joshua A. Guglielmo and see all the cool concept art you guys had him do.

@joejing: I have one plea, but I think it is not your depsrtment. Now that the Tailor gets another overhaul, is there a way you could remove those two pre-created face/hairstyle columns?

Or at least make them expandable if someone wants it. I think players are changing the costumes more often than they change the face and hair. They take away screen space and I have often accidentally done changes I did not want to do.

    Thanks

Please remove the current model, it kinda blows.

Also consider, since you have Caucasoid and Mongoloid head types, adding a proper Negroid head type. Y'know, for balance and fairness.

Thank goodness that I'm not the only racialist in the room. :P

In all seriousness, I do concur.

Having actually gone through the whole thread now, I'm happy with the 'subtle' version. I personally can't see any difference with it, so can't see it affecting my Xui Li boff.

I vote with others, if possible, make these an option 3.

If changing option 2 like this updates all the npc's, why not do the update and replace option 2, but add the old option 2 as option 3. That way, all the npc's get updated, we get the new art, and those who like the old one can just make a quick edit to complexion 3? The cost to do so can be covered by throwing a ship battery into the replicator. It really is extremely low, so can't see anyone having any issues with the cost.

The differences between the head types are subtle but I'm digging my vaguely Sam Jackson-ish look on Tribble.

That's fantastic! More options and more diversity allows this game to embody the Vulcan philosiphy of Infinite Diversity In Combinations (IDIC).
