I sure hope it would be more than that. A lot of the basic romulan and DS9 missions need serious remastering,

That and would be a nice edition to STO if each area sort of had adventure zones to do specific star trek elements like space battles, ground battles, and non combat kinda stuff along with remastering. That is one thing with remastering they should do so there is stuff going on in majority of the game other than once you go there not much point in doing anything in those areas unless its a FE re-run.

I would be surprised if it happened, but it would be nice to see the whole kdf/fed war plot get flushed.

The screenshot is very interesting, but if it is Kassae IV, it looks a lot better in this ne screenshot than the current version of the planet.

I hope not, because it would require a massive amount of work. And given what they did to the Vega attack, I'm skeptical.

They should keep well enough alone and have there being a short war with the Klingons like in DS9, add stories in endgame that have the relationship restored.

On topic, this looks awesome. If it is remastered Fed missions--maybe we can get some voice acting! Bring on the Shat, baby!

I remember them saying something along those lines. Maybe they found time to fix up at least some of the older episodes in the game.

I also remember them saying something about improving the episode rewards and/or episode replay rewards.

    So here's hoping.

Talking remastering missions? How about "Blood of the Empire". Every KDF enthusiast knows about it's two near-game breaking problems:
-It's using Pre-Season 5 Assets (Old KDF Headquarters and First City Maps)
-The "Black Hole" ( A massive block of missing textures and placeholder objects inside the Headquarters itself).

Try clearing your cache and restarting your browser.

    Cheers,

    Brandon =/\=

Bran, please pass this on to your website admins:

The core problem is caused by the configuration of the nginx daemon; it throws this error if it gets an HTTP request with headers bigger than the configured "large_client_header_buffers_size" server parameter. Increasing this size should fix the problem globally.

Don't bother me with it. I was just stating an observation of what was said in the past.

You got a problem with specific episodes, take it up with Cryptic, not me. I have nothing to do with that.

    As expected its remastering http://sto-forum.perfectworld.com/showthread.php?p=14438191#post14438191

Many Federation episodes have been revamped to improve the quality and pacing.
These changes apply to the following missions:
    Stranded in Space
    Diplomatic Orders
    Hide and Sneak
    Stop the Signal
    Researcher Rescue
    The Kuvagh'Magh
    Treasure Trading Station
    Secret Orders
    Task Force Hippocrates
    The Ultimate Klingon
City on the Edge of Never
    Past Imperfect
The mission "War is Good for Business" has been removed.
Captains who have already completed these episodes will not be required to replay any but do have the option to as has always been the case.
The replay reward for "The Vault" now has a plasma based weapon for Romulan captains.
Defeating enemies now counts towards completion of "Patrol T'liss System".
Defeating enemies now counts towards completion of "Patrol Rhi System".

It does look like researcher rescue, but that looks like a swarmer behind the Fed.

Could it be? We're finally getting swarmer pets?

It's not a swarmer pet - if you copy the pic and zoom in you will see it's a human body in a blue/dark blue outfit lying on the ground.

That was totally unexpected. I seriously hope you're also making them fun to play, and cutting down on their tedious nature.

Very very true. The Dyson's Sphere is on the right track, even with the bonehead decision to remove the daily from the space region. I would love to see small missions scattered around sector blocks. Especially in Gamma Orionis, earn a few Omega marks, some dilithium, etc.

    Absolutely. 100% this.

I'd like to end off by thanking Cryptic for the remastered episodes. Researcher Rescue looks great, and I can't wait to get my grubby little paws on them.

a .5 season is usually a repolish/bug bash of old systems in a game, this teases extremely good news of a revamp of old content.

Funny thing is in a lot of interviews they do they explain how they started out wanting to do something specific and now its not what they want the feel of the game to be. So with what some people are saying remaster it, add in better stuff to get a better feel to the game or in some cases scraping different things.

This is one big example I have if you mostly play kdf vs fed you really have no idea who b'vat is because he's not mentioned and pretty much not even heard of unless you do the temporal ambassador mission. Then against if you put your place in the fed shoes theres tons of content that is so sub par that isn't even relevant in the story or end game basically some of it just looks like a foundry mission which is a dim light compared to stuff done in the last year and a half now. Also the average fed player has no idea who the fek'ihr are and that they pose more of a threat in the story to the alpha quadrant than majority of the threats in leveling content for the fed player lol. Now stating that it does make sense why the Klingon empire in the tv series didn't always jump to supplying the federation with aid even as allies due to the threats to the alpha quadrant they had kept contained to their borders.

Anyways I hope they do more for this game than a fed vs kdf war where the war has a "pause" button where people jump into ques on borg, tholian, and iconian based threats lol. Then looking over your shoulder to old broken content as you doff past it lol.

Hasn't a similar structure been seen on Kassae IV (Researcher Rescue Mission)

Yes, there are more trees though.
I would love to visit this star in-game...or maybe this one!

Excellent. Fed missions have been taking a hit; KDF and Rommie content is actually better than Fed stuff now. Plus, BUGFIX!!!!! YEAH-HAWWWW!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

To the devs: I love you guys, and you aren't getting paid enough.

I'm glad to see that "War is Good for Business" is leaving the game. That mission has always been so tedious, excessively long, and very drawn out. Six map transfers and two instances where the player is forced to fly several hundred kilometers without full impulse. After my second character, I always clicked the skip button.

I actually like the plotline of it, but I could do without the tedium. I hope that they're recalling it for some major reworking. It could be a really fun mission, if the tedium and issues with the first map could be fixed.
