Internet Lag need advice

Alright I don't know if this is a bug but I figured out the problem and I was wondering if anyone could give some advice.

The backbone hub that my internet route takes to get to the sto servers is lagging as hell. The ping is at 140 to 200ms from routes 5 to 8, then from 9 and 10 when it gets to the sto server side I lose packets all together.

Who can I talk to or call, or what can I do to change the route my internet takes to the sto servers?

I have no idea if this is perfectworlds end or mine. I just know that start of the new season my **** has been lagging and dropping constantly.

Thank your time.

Hard to say without having any diagnostic results to look at....

You can also try substituting 'pathping' for the 'tracert' command, and post those results as well...

Unfortunately, the only way you can change the routing is to change internet providers--and even that won't necessarily get you relief, because it depends on where the breakdown is. CogentCo sits between my location and the Cryptic server, and their BOS06 node had problems for weeks--which they consistently denied. Apparently enough people complained that someone finally fed the hamster (or replaced it).

So, the question is, what are the IDs on hops 5 through 8? Since you see timing spikes at that run, you're probably looking at something inside your provider's network, although that's not assured. The path I see from my house transitions from RoadRoader to CogentCo at hop 9; it's possible your provider doesn't take such a long route to the transition point. (Cable or DSL? It makes a difference.)

As GrouchyOtaku suggests, tracert and pingpath results would be very helpful in diagnosing your situation.

This also probably belongs in the "Network Issues" sub-section, since it's not specifically a game play problem.
