Three days away now, and we'll be in 2014. During (at least the first few months) of 2014, I'm taking a leave of absence, hopefully not from the game, but it will be from these forums. One less person complaining all the time, I'm sure the Devs will be overjoyed.
Anyway, I've compiled together some things that I'd like to see before we hit 2015. I know that's a long way off yet, but there's no harm in getting ideas and desires out early. Might actually get somewhere with them then. I've limited these
requests mostly down to things that haven't already been hinted at. A Cardassian Faction for arguments sake is pretty much a given if a 4th faction is released, so I don't feel the need to rant on about how I'd like that done. It'll be done how Cryptic feel is right.
Justified Desires:
Limited (yet efficient) Customization of all non faction specific Bridge Officers (the unique ones claimed via Rewards and those that are Purchased via Fleet Scaling Projects). Each unique Bridge Officer should come with two unique clothing options, and full face and body morphing options.
The exceptions here with face morphing would be that of the Breen.
The Romulan Embassy Bridge Officers should be able to use the Romulan Civilian Sets as found on Republic characters in addition to their respective allegiance uniform. Embassy Costumes (the robes) should also be enabled here.
The Clocked Intentions Reman Bridge Officer Reward should be able to use the Reman Civilian Sets as found on Republic characters in addition to their respective allegiance uniform.
A Cardassian Bridge Officer Reward or Purchase.
A Ferasan Raider.
The Caitian have the Atrox (a Science Carrier). It stands to reason that the Ferasan would be more vicious than their Federation brethren, and there are already enough Carriers in the game. It makes sense too (alike other KDF allies) that the Ferasan would have their own ships, and as you're introducing Raiders into the KDF, why not give the Ferasan their very own?
Additional Klingon Costumes ~ I can't even begin to stress how insufficient current options are. Even the Romulans (a mini faction) have more variety.
This would include everything from tops, pants, shoulder pads, belts and boots.
This would also include additional hair options. Klingons are stupidly short on them right now. There are existing styles on other species that should easily work for those with a Klingon character too.
This shouldn't be specific to Klingons either. Nausicaan and Orion have their own unique clothing options, yet the Lethean and (more importantly) the Gorn do not.
A Star Cruiser Refit mirroring that of the Assault Cruiser Refit (consoles and bridge officer slots specifically). Said vessel would also come with a new skin. A true counterpart to the Assault Cruiser linage.
Unlikely, but hopeful Desires:
The removal of Klingon playable characters from the Federation. If people wish to play as a Klingon, they should be on the Red Team, or use the alien creator. This is just a personal opinion of mine, and I know there are going to be people who disagree, and you're entitled to do so. I'm just putting it out here.
Feline themed appearance (specifically lower) for the Caitian and Ferasan. If felines weren't walking around with humanoid legs, I'd actually use some of them.
Restructure of the Cardassian Galor (lock box variant)
I would personally like the ship to be renamed to Cardassian Cruiser, and I'd like the option of slotting on the Keldon parts as optional extras within the ship customization screen. The Cardassian Lock Box is (thus far) the least rewarding lock box going, and the difference between the Galor and Keldon isn't that significant to warrant a new vessel.
Practical, though unessential Desires:
Starship Biographies
We've got Officer biographies, and character biographies. Why not allow us to detail our ships that little bit more? Give us the option to say where the ship was launched and when (etc).
Custom Logos
So we've got Fleet Logos, and they're great, but how about some custom logos? Couldn't we have say, six slots (per character) which can be added to uniforms or ships like the current fleet logos already are?
Comments
The only thing I would dispute is the Starfleet Klingons issue. If they'd been an option for all players to begin with, then maybe, but seeing as they're a Zen purchase, it's not really fair to start taking that option away from people who purchased it. Unless it was handled similar to the Environmental Suits, where they're removed from the store but if you'd purchased it beforehand you can still use it.
That said, with the talk of an end to the Fed/KDF war, it might start to make more sense again.
Also nooo. Who else will I have to agree with if you're not here? :P
i can see the breen customization having different helmets and suits to choose from aside from the body sliders and the ability to alter the breen vision scope light on the helmet.
the reman boff and embassy should be able to be customizable, fully.
Klingon content is likely to be overlooked in a major way as it has always done and who cares about another raider, such glass cannons wouldn't be effective against cubes and other mighty ships with a lot of burst power. However i do agree that klingon clothing options are limited on the unform front, i do not like these tight pants being the only thing you can wear on the uniform side of things, this also goes for klingon hair. they had frizzy hair, somewhat like an afro, but hung down around the shoulders.
by removing playable klingons from the feds, those who bought this race from the shop would likely scream for a return of their money while some of the community would attempt to grill cryptic alive for what they done, besides, klingons and starfleet have been at each others dinner table for hundreds of years, i dont see whats wrong with playable klingons in starfleet.
who cares about altering the cardassian lock box ships name and giving it a cusonization appearance of a false ship? keldon is every bit superior to the galor.
the biographies should be made available to others to read, if it gives an alt a background beyond a mere drone, then so be it.
custom fleet logos would be nice. the trouble with a listed and limited amount of customizations is that somewhere some day there will be an exact clone of yours walking about claiming to be you, the same with the fleet logo. this is why i also want 2.0 to be actually updated with more then just a ui bar update.
Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
it'll make more sense to me when you can start a KDF character and choose a Human to play with.
Hah, I'll be back eventually. I just want to take a step back for my own sake.
I would have included helmets in costumes rather than face morph, but yeah. Helmet options should be available to those of us wishing to use our Breen.
I cared back when I had one.
As it stands, i'd really like to know where the full Bortasqu uniform is. And why I can't use all the parts of the Honor Guard uniform for my Boffs, rather than just the shirt.

TL/DR
Some bug Fixing would be nice!!

I will only accept the removal of Klingons from the Fed side if the KDF have joined Trills removed. However I doubt this will ever be considered due to possible harsh backlash from the community.
I'd also like to see digitigrade legs for felinoids. Even if it was only a choice between humanoid or digitigrade legs with limited tailoring options for pants or skirts, I'd take it! It's time to start spicing up the quality and variety of character models in the game.
Klingons really should get some kind of special Dahar Master outfit. I'd like to get that long coat as well. Feds get the Vice Admiral coat, why shouldn't the KDF get their equivalent?
More costumes for all the races of the Klingon Empire please!!!!
Ferasan ships;
More Elite PvE content;
Some special Boffs for fleets wouldn't hurt;
A Romulan Fleet, seriously this should have been there since the beginning.
Unrealistic:
Full decks for all the lobi, lock box and special ships.
I don't think this should be under realistic ideas. More desired, but impractical. The current system just doesn't properly allow for it, and I can't see the system changing.
Why not?
Sure Romulans swing both ways now giving captains to both Star Fleet and the Empire to get help from both in rebuilding New Romulus but that is like in Medieval times when Kings left their children in care of other kings as insurance of good will and that they won't betray them.
In the core they are still Romulans and they should have their own fleet.
Don't get me wrong, I'd have loved this (as I would have an independent Romulan faction) but it needed to be from the start, which it wasn't, and I've since come to what I believe to be the realization that this just isn't going to happen.
From that point of view I see your point. Frel...
P.S. I would also like to add the inclusion of Tal Shiar Pants, as stated here.
Join The Space Invaders,..... Federation and KDF fleets.
Fedside klingon toons are fine in my books, and I want to be able to customize by Breen's helmet and body a little. Maybe make him/her/it look a little more like a Ak'ched or higher-ranked Breen, instead of a lowly H'ren.
Otherwise, I love this list.

Yeah I'm tired of rasta Klingons and I would like my Gorn in a proper Gorn outfit. I also want to see a properly set up Galaxy class since it is the ship with more screen time than any save for the Constitution class. I think the KDF races need more gender options too.
Parallels: my second mission for Fed aligned Romulans.
This.... i want THIS!
Also, i would really like to see them go back and finish up more existing story lines like "Children of Kahn". I'm Hoping that Cryptic could do a better writing job for the Augments than the last Star Trek movie did.
A massive quality of life pass would be another huge must for me. There is too many broken things going on in game, and anytime they try to add something, more breaks. To make matters worse, they are adding things without going back to revamp older things at all, to bring them inline with the new changes. It seems very lazy, even from a professional standpoint, and frankly it's only hurting the game. It would really be nice to see Cryptic go through and make any fixes/upgrades/updates they could before giving us Season 9: The Quest For More Money.
Full body skins. This is part of the first and third bits, but it bugs the TRIBBLE out of me that a game would not put more effort into the actual player character models, as to leave most of them with such a glaring issue. It's beyond ridiculous, and it's right up there with making two of the famous species, look nothing like their onscreen versions. I'm talking about the Remans (who are terrible looking), and the Jem'Hadar (not as bad, but still need some love).
Dominion faction. I don't know why, but i would love to play as a Jem'Hadar in game. Especially if they added in some kind of mechanic for the dependency on Ketracel White.
1. They will not take playable Klingons from the Federation side because if you stick to cannon. Worf was a federation officer.
2. They will not make any major upgrades to ships including shuttle bays or hulls, because it requires a code rewrite.
3. Changing the Romulan to one race. That would require a rewrite.
4. The other 1,000+ request, would require a massive rewrite.
Unless someone going get together and create a mmo / virtual world galaxy system. Most of the request will not happen.
BUT
The two request I have.
1. Fix most of the Bugs!
2. Create a Linux create. So, Linux, Mac, and Windows players can play.
Duty Officers with the rank of Captain...
Only available to Admirals, in limited numbers and with unique assignments...
And could have special features for the purpose of making the player feel more like an Admiral. Maybe go so far as to give them their own ships, even if you never actually see them. This could determine different variables in their assignments.
First off, I would like to point out that KDF has had raiders since the beginning. They've just been severely behind on the power creep curve. As for the Ferasan ship, I think it should instead be some form of escort carrier. The feds got one, and we've asked for one since they got it. (Just about everyone recommended that it be Ferasan in design.) Then the roms got one, and we still don't have one. Maybe once they see that if they actually give us quality ships (like the Mogh) instead of things like the Failtasqu, we'll buy them, and we'll get it.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
Maybe being able to deploy your reserve ships on assignments, or being able to use an item/skill to bring your reserve ships into battle.

Really, any kind of Foundry development/improvements and especially integration with the way players play is a good investment as an unlimited source of content.
Also, custom audio/assets for Foundry missions. There've gotta be ways around copyright issues, but I guess there's no way around some kind of moderation. Microsoft had some kind of moderation service for indie games on the Xbox 360 where it was moderated by peers before being officially published.
The Foundry is a pretty unique tool in the MMO market. It's an asset I'd like to see enjoyed more, especially when attached to a Star Trek property.
This.^^^^^
More foundry development is definitely needed.
Support 90 degree arc limitation on BFaW! Save our ships from looking like flying disco balls of dumb!
What we need more than anything else is a complete revamp of the Foundry storefront, like so.

Yes.
PLEASE!?
I'd love to include (Even a short) a blurb about my ship.
Why it's designated as 91004-A.
Photonic: He is a computer image I can't program an outfit I like on him?
Borg Science: Need more borg outfits and options.
Breen: There are many customization option we could have with this.
Reman: They are in game as playables yet we can't alter this one.
Jem'Hadar: I don't think there is must customizations here but allowing us to make a Gamma vs and Beta/Alpha would be cool.
Ferasan ships should be a given as well as a Lethean ships. KDF definately needs more options.
I could not agree more about KDF clothing options. Surely even the Klingons have liesure wear!
Another
Dress
House Mother
If they do introduce the Cardies as Faction 4 wouldn't this ship be part of that? I have yet to see a lockbox ship that is customizable in that way.
Last two things would be nice little tidbits I agree.
