I have purchased some from said fleet already. The same thing happened back when they started selling [AMP] cores first... I have no idea how they did it - ultra fast grind, exploitation or whatever, all that matters to me is that the consoles are real and I can use them.

I could post screenshots and all, but as I know this community, someone would immediately accuse me of - photoshop, tribble pics, etc.

How very typical of you - calling out others, asking for proof, receiving the proof, and the moment you're asked for the exact same in return, you suddenly don't care.

It's not up to you, as you said, yet you're the one here posting, making statements that people are qq'ing. Huh, makes sense :/

I kinda skimmed this a little, but has anyone brought up the possibility that they just... I don't know... lying?
That was certainly what I believed at first, that this was simply an elaborate Tribble-based troll. However, an increasing number of people, including those I would not believe would actually lie about this, started also waving these things around, including on Zone, which is not a trans-Tribble channel.
    voporak wrote: »
Is it possible to link an item on tribble to a private chat, then copypasta it to zone with the mouse over tooltip still working?
Yes, and like I said: I believed this at first, it seemed like such an obvious troll, but the reports kept rolling in from multiple independent sources. It became clear that either a massive conspiracy was occurring, or that something strange was afoot.
    feiqa wrote: »
Edit to add: Also did your iteration count assume the two simultaneous xp projects running at once? And that provisioning missions can be run while the tier is being built?
Yes, all these figures cover running both the 1200+500 for MAXIMUM speed, and the effects of provisioning during T2 upgrade was addressed. We even covered the fact that up to about 2-3 additional days could be saved by overqueuing.

None of this can adequately address a major discrepancy of over a week.

Which brings us to the next question: Are we looking at a simple case of honest exploitation, or are we dealing with crooked devs specifically aiding a select personal portion of the playerbase to enable them to profit at the expense of the other players? There was a major scandal in EVE when this happened back in 2007. It's a well-known fact here that devs play and have infiltrated player fleets incognito, and awfully convenient that this occurred right around a time that the devs would have gone home and perhaps wanted to play with these new toys.

Perhaps someone has gotten careless and miscalculated their cover times, letting the cat out of the bag in the process. Had they waited a week, they could have been "first" and nothing would have seemed overly suspicious, but this early? Something is fishy. It's been long enough that those who wouldn't know better wouldn't spot the mistake, but to those of us who are in the Spire race, it is clear that someone has miscalculated and blown their cover.

In this case, it's less about that and more about the possibility that devs, probably crooked, are taking actions specifically to benefit a select group of players at the expense of everyone else. Surely you guys remember the major Eve scandal that this caused.

As I recall, it was GMs that were the implicated party in the Eve scandal. Besides, everyone knows that Devs don't actually PLAY this game.

    They're lying?

Next time you see someone saying that, your response should be "pics or it didn't happen".

Not at all. I'm a member of your public service channel and give this stuff away for free. No, I was never expecting to win any particular race to a tier. I'm talking about something entirely different: the fact that a mathematically impossible occurrence indicates that something very suspicious, such as dev shenanigans, may be occurring. Someone, that won't name because of rules has managed to acquire this, at no apparent cost and is now using this it rip off other players. Do you think devs should be giving people free maxed out holdings just so they can use it to rip off other players?

That was my first reaction when I first started hearing this, "Eh, trolls linking stuff from Tribble". It has spread to a point where this can no longer be so easily dismissed.

Could we get a screenshot, properly sanitized to remove ToS-violating details? Alternatively, if you could send me the raw shots in a PM, I'd appreciate it.

edit: vvvv Video would be awesome too, if you have it. If you PM things like that, is it naming and shaming? I would think that would get around it, but I Am Not A GM, so at your own risk, etc.

I think you guys are debating the wrong thing.

There is no debate about whether someone got the CRTH consoles. That has been checked by multiple sources.

There is no debate that people got these consoles at least 10 days early. Again this has been checked by multiple sources.

The debate is: is it EXPLOIT in the fleet system, or Devs doing shady dealings with players.

You have an extremely loose grasp of logic. We've had accusations and allegations, not proof or evidence. I would like to see the evidence, please, not your histrionic accusations of developer bias.

I dont see the issue here.
In Every mmo there ever was the GMs let alone the devs have liberty to seed ultra rare items into the game to a point. Why would you be so suprised even if they had assisted someone. or is it because you're then asked to pay for it. Fact is this guy had to get up all hours of the night and spend a great deal of resources in order to make it happen. If he wants to charge for that then so be it. Stop crying because you feel entitled to enjoy the fruits of someone elses hard work.
Even if there was some exploit in use to make it happen and no dev assistance at all, you cant tell me 90% of you guys complaining about it didnt absolutely **** the dil foundry exploit when it was active.

So if you dont want to pay, no problem, just get them when you get them in your current fleet. or wait for nop public service guys to do the hard work for you then mooch off of them. In either case, you'll get what you thought you were going to get when you expected to get them.
If i want to pay to get them a little early then i'm able to. I know the guy that built them sure as he** payed to build the access.

That's really the important issue: Are we just looking at regular honest cheating, or dirty-dev-cheating? Regular, honest cheating is just business as usual, seen in every game, everywhere. Dev favoritism, on the other hand, represents a major scandal, like when this blew up on Eve, resulting in the guy being subsequently sacked and the formation of an Internal Affairs division.

    And more importantly: what now?

Let's be clear: someone(s) purposely exploited a bug in the system, and are now profiting from it.

Again, this clearly demonstrates your character. This isn't about someone getting there before me or anyone else. In fact, I am perfectly happy to do the legitimate work to earn the rewards. My fleet holdings was never going to be first in any race and I am completely patient in that fact. This is an exploit, plain and simple and therein lies the problem, of which you are so happily to benefit from, antagonise others about and indeed advertise with glee, and ultimately claim QQ over those that don't exploit.

Sure, your "fan club" ... isn't TheTradingChannel the TheLakeShow anyway? Where you bash who you want, when you want, how you want but claim "drama", "bs" or mute and kick people whenever they look at you sideways or mention something you don't like? Sure only recently you trolled and flamed a respected member of this community, (someone who was kind enough to write up a guest blog for all the players) in that channel when they did something you didn't like, nor did it even remotely concern you (he considered trading an item to another player but before the sale went through, he decided to retain the item himself).
    lake1771 wrote: »

Exploit. How far are you willing to cheat to get ahead? You called out others to provide math. Again, you have continuously failed to do so yourself.
    lake1771 wrote: »

Exploit. Cheat. I refer you you back to the first line I began in the first paragraph above.

Exploited to build access ... you mean, which is what this is all about and not about complaining over anyone getting their first, as you are so gleeful in pointing out. Players are legitimately grinding the game to develop their holdings.

Plus, a mod in TheTradingChannel having no problem with players ripping off others, and even benefiting themselves, well, says it all right there about what goes on in that channel.

really can't photoshop the gateway. so, explain how this person has the locator on their ship already when it is mathematically impossible to have them.

I know its futile, we will never know the answer and in a few days many fleets will have them and no one will care. This fleet will have exploited many players and made loads of EC illegally and have gotten away with it. Oh well the proof has been shown how it is impossible to have them now with not one logical rebuttal on how a fleet could magically finish 10 days sooner.

    Maybe "Section 31" helped them.

It just cracks me up all the people on here whining about them selling access. Everyone wants access for free even though they have not earned it, its pathetic. I don't know what is wrong with you people that you think you deserve free access to what other fleets have spent there time and resources to build up while you have done absolutely nothing to earn it. Its one thing among friends, its another thing to go up to a stranger and start begging for access.

As to how they did it, who cares, if cryptic hadn't gone and broke criticals with BFAW I would be all over this deal, happily paying for access to what they have built.

As to if this is real or a tribble fleet, it is real, it is on holodeck. It is the same fleet I happily bought my elite warp cores from there mine about 10 days early. As now I did not really care how they did it, I was jut happy to have my elite core.

Actually that photo you linked, is photoshoped... Look closely into the Tactical Section of the consoles.. See how the image of the Locator is over the "Tactical Console" name/title wachamacall it.. A normal non photoshoped gateway wont do that... It will arrange or crop the image so it does not block the title... what this person did.. was take an image of a ship which already has the Tier 3 Stuff, here this, "From the TRIBBLE" and just copy and pasted into the Holodeck gateway... Simple as that..

ALSO keep inmind this qoute from the OP
In the past day or so, there has been a suspcious rash of people waving about their new T3 Spire Consoles, and this has spread to the point where it cannot simply be dismissed as trolls from Tribble, as they're posting it in Zone. I know some of the names of people in this alleged fleet, but will not name names here due to rules.

Actually and trust me in this.... Zone chat is another global chat channel that is tied in between the Holodeck and the Tribble... just like any other Custom chat channel... Trust me in this... I'm a heavy Tribble Tester... and I know for a fact that this channel and that Items can be link over from the Tribble server to the Holodeck...

and to keep in mind that Fleets in the Tribble server do not have the 20H or 5D project cooldowns like the holodeck fleets have... the tribble fleet don't have this for testing purposes.... therefor, and I know a Cryptic Owned fleet that is already Tier 3 Mine, Embassy, Spire and Tier 5 Starbase in a matter of days due to the non-applied cooldowns the tribble has...

    So to summarize all this...

" You've all been troll by a Tribble Server Fleet!!!!! "

Let me qoute back to you the OP soo you can see for yourself...

This is, of course, impossible. It would take 35 cycles of maximum XP gain in a single track at 1700 per 20 hours, +22 days (24h) of tier upgrades, to produce a finished T3 track, neglecting everything else. It has only been 40 days. Even with a few days saved due to overflow concurrency and provisioning for the measly 200 XP (which, incidentally, produces at most 1400-1600 XP, not even enough to save a day) at T2 upgrade(cannot provision until T1 is complete), this is far short of the ~50 days MINIMUM completion time.

The only explanation here is that some manner of shenanigans are afoot. Somebody has miscalculated their cover times and has prematurely revealed that they've either found an exploit for free fleet construction, since they obviously could not have actually built it, or that a crooked dev is cheating for them, and then allowing these selected players to profiteer off others.

Can anyone else figure out an explanation for this?
