It might be pronounced that way in Romulan, but....

I'm fairly certain this is not the Earth languages word "epohh" being used here.

Wait a minute, there are people who pronounce it with a long "E"? It's clearly phonetically "e-p-əʊ" (like 'episode')... why would one think otherwise?

EDIT: I have just realised that maybe this is one of those American vs British English things. Ignore me :)

May be it is just me but everytime I hear the VO in the gazebo I hear "ippo" as in hippo.

For the pie eating contest you should get a special ability when you eat so many. Kind of like throwing snowballs... If you have seen the pie eating contest in Stand By Me, that special power :D

Tacofangs, you're absolutely right. This is a silly argument and I have half a mind right now to start talking like a 2-year-old who just wants their two front teeth for Christmas.

I just say Epohh in the hungarian phonetical version. Ep-oh. Like episode and D'oh! put together!
Let us wear Swimsuits on Foundry maps or bridges please! I would pay zen for that.

I feel like I should chime in on this, being the resident freaky epohh guy.

I've always thought of it, and pronounced as E (strong e) p oh (strong o)

    Epohh
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.

So they are Ehpohhs and not Epohhs now? Cryptic 'mispelt' it? lol

Nothing about the word "epohh" necessitates the "e" being long. Take the word "epoch" for or "epoxy" for example. It should also be noted that "epohh" is the Estonian word equivalent of "epoch" in English.

Well for the pun "P'Ehp'O'Ment" to work it would have to be "Eh' Pohhs."

Well, I've always read it 'ee-po'. That's why the P'Ehp'O'Ment pun felt a bit strange to me last winter and why the current pronunciation of the researcher also doesn't ring true.

But, this is marginal in comparison with the annoying as hell chef shouting over the whole gazebo!

    !

For me it was destroyed when I realized I was sitting in my house in front of a computer. Kind of a giveaway there. :D

The voices repeating every 5 seconds is way more annoying. My wife threatned to rip the speakers off my desk after 5 minutes.

Peaceful exploration? I have a heavily armed ship and a phaser with a kill setting, how peaceful is that?

that or it's a matter of a difference between human and Romulan pronunciation. :P (The researcher lady is apparently either a Romulan, or one of Q's fantasies that just happens to look like one.)
