The only horrible grind in this game are seasonal events. When it comes to reputation, fleet marks, dilithium, etc. the player is given more variety when it comes to how they can earn those resources.
Seasonal events are just limited to one boring repetitive chore, or paying Lobi to bypass that chore. That's pretty much it. If Cryptic wants to keep utilizing this event reputation system, there needs to be more variety.
I want to put in my 2 coins here...I understand you are frustrated, and as a way to vent your frustration you come to the forums. Now also I can see their point of view, where they say you are whining. It does sound like you are, just sayin.
I am in a small fleet, we have 132 members. We are tier 4 starbase, tier 2 mine, tier 1 embassy, and tier 1 spire. So to say the large fleets have an advantage is and isnt true. Its a matter of how much dedication you have to your fleet.
It also helps to not do things alone, it feels like less of a grind that way. Get the people in your fleet to participate, do things together. Make the grind easier on yourselves by not having to deal with pugs, and having the entire group be your fleet mates.
Believe me, it took us a while to get where our fleet is now, but patience and dedication are the keys.

I have to disagree here. The other stuff might have MORE variety, but not enough considering there ALREADY IS ENOUGH OTHER CONTENT.
In the OP's defence, he/she is not crying about the grind.
However...
1- small fleets or big fleets the resources required are the same. So there is no unfair mechanics there, just your fleets ability to come up with the resources as fast as a large fleet.
2- Instead of sending 400 dil one day and 1,000 dil the next, have your fleetmates save for the whole week then donate what they gathered at the end of the week. I think you'll feel better, because you wont constantly be watching bars slowly filling up with micro payments.
3- You don't get things for free in the real world, why would you in a game that's some what realistic about its universe?

The only one I got tired of was doing the CE event on every character. That was exhausting.... the winter event? meh. a piece of cake compared to beating the CE on 12 characters each day.
I wont more story missions like the old featured series missions there a lot of fun but now there dont seem to wont to tell a story and there just keep coming up with new ways to grind. e,g the so called anniversary ships ive wonted new sci ships in the game for well over 2 years KDF side so i was buzzing. i was going to get all 3 faction ships but now im only going to get the KDF one . one of my alts is in a small tier 2 fleet so i guess ill just keep grinding the hell out of the same old fleet missions.

It's not about not wanting to tell stories. It's about understanding that it takes weeks of work to create a story that you will play in 15-30 minutes. 2,000 man-hours to create, 20 minutes to play. With grinding content the ratio of create to play is much smaller.
Basically you are ******** about a 15 day mini grind for a anniversery ship. You can do 15 days in a snap, trust me, i have done far more for far less gain in the real world and in game life...If you have something more important to do, then do that, if you like STO then do that..
