Bann ?

Have a friend named Mooksy, i try to write MMmmMMmmooksy in the fleet channel and then i receive a ban.
What happend? do something wrong?

    We had a massive problem a while back with "gold sellers" where basically people would advertise selling ingame currencies in zone chat , to try and steal peoples accounts..


    Cryptic tried to stem the flow of these by putting a chat filter in place, However it's not terribly effective as it keeps hurting legitimate people!

    OH wow, I got on the other day, I was wondering why nobody was using chat. I was the only one talking in it saw people running all over stardock. Thought that they either a) didn't hear me or b) were ignoring my chatting. I was at the disco and asked a guy (by name) for a dance. Tried to talk to players at the bar etc..

    If this keeps up STO might get a black eye for being known as the anti-social MMO. :D

    I am really happy there is no spam but IMO that is a very bad idea to robo-ban the chat. :eek:

    Dont have twitter. There is something more to do?

    So far I can take it, but I'm starting to feel the effects ... if in less than 6 hours can not kill a borg, fear tremors begin again. Please help me before it's too late and the damage is permanent. :)

    Yep many people complained about banns these days.Some we banned for few days .You wont know the reason till you get in game because PWE sends you the reason in game mail so you dont even know what to tell the support.

    As mentioned above and in the pic you provided, the best thing is to file a ticket, and hope you get some answer.

    That being said, it would be very strange if they banned you for saying what you said. That is not offensive at all...

    It might stem from something else you said or did that caused this ban, but AFAIK you should get an email explaining why you got the ban. If you have not received such an email, send another new ticket asking why no mail was sent to your registered email addy...

    I was in silence until my friend get online, really dont understand this situation.

    And nobody from the ticket service say nothing..., yet.

    Buy zen 1 or 2 days ago, 625 zens to be precise.

    I buy the Liftime offer in June, and buy the Legacy Pack in July.

    Its hard to understand, for now only have to practice patience until somebody do something with this shamefull incident.

    The Gold Sellers are getting creative -- noticed that they are using usernames that are one or two letters/digits different that existing user-names... We had a gold-bot spam the hell out of our "private" RP Channel -- the seller's name was ONE letter different than a prominent member of the channel.

    Auto-account-ban without at least displaying a reason is very bad. And you are right -- it has cut down on chatting across the game. Well that and the fact the population is way down, has been down for quite awhile.

    Hard to have fun when you have a ban-hammer over your head at all times on a random-trigger and it's hard to have fun when people refuse to log in out of fear of being hammered.

    +All players walking on eggshells in the chat
    I would love to visit this star in-game...or maybe this one!

    Fear definitely not just annoying for feeling unable to do anything. I consider much more serious all experienced graphics problems upon opening the Iconian device.
    But I have my expectations for the capacity of all staff of the company in solving programming problems.
    One of the things I love about this game is its ability to evolve, would not be humanly possible or fair to ask Cryptic not have drawbacks.
    I see this as a price to pay for an excellent and wholesome entertainment.

    I tweeted Brandon about the problem, He said there isn't really anything he can do right now, And that you should submit a ticket (which you have)

    No Problem - A few of my fleet members have been hit by this before,It's really irritating getting locked out of the game for something so simple (Something that really, really should be sorted out!), not to mention you have to deal with PWE's extremely lackluster support team!

    Keep in mind also that in the US, this is Thanksgiving Weekend - many (most?) companies give their employees both Thanksgiving Day (Thursday) and the following day off. So there may not be anyone available to assist you until Monday morning, probably around 8 am Pacific time (UTC-8).

    I hardly ever see people talk to begin with. I never thought this was the reason why STO was the most silent MMO I have ever played.

    I stopped using chat altogether really. My fleet channel is the only one I post in, rarely.

    Why cryptic decided to kill an ant with a nuclear bomb, is beyond me....

    Once again the honest suffer while the spammers continue to spam :(

    There was a "landmine" filter program that would simply ban accounts that stated keywords. I guess your friend was somehow a keyword.

    Its ugly, but then again so is the goldfarming/scamming/hijacking business.

    It's rather ridiculous and stupid. I was temporarily suspended for calling someone a ''Noob'' This game is getting beyond a joke.

    Hope you get back on soon.
