TWoK Uniforms Got (some) Love

It took over three years, but the TWoK uniforms finally have ranks. I never thought that'd actually happen.

But, as Jack Emmert said back in 2008 when Cryptic announced they were in development on STO, Cryptic are fans of the show and have watched the movies and read the books and know STO, which obviously explains these problems we've been complaining about with the TWoK uniform for over 3 years, all of which still exist:

• No gold braid for VA & above on jacket and pants
• No checkered braid on left sleeve for Admirals and above
• No gold braid for ALL ranks on edges of shoulder strap
• Shoulder strap turnbuckle & braid color on left sleeve tied together. Turnbuckle should be silver. Braid should be gold.
• Tan jacket flap interior for those not wearing Command white undershirt/shoulder strap/armband
• The large, trapezoid belt loop on the back of the jacket.
• Chain braid on the inside edge of the jacket flap for open-flap version

You know, I have the notes of Robert Fletcher, who designed these uniforms. The notes have been available for decades (literally). You can still get them on the roddenberry.com website shop.

So why didn't you guys bother? Seriously.

Maybe in another 3 years...

It's a trivial thing, I guess. But when it comes to not paying attention to detail in something like this, well.

It explains just about everything we need to know when they break stuff on each update, doesn't it?

All that said, and for what it's worth, thanks for the overdue yet limited love you guys finally gave the TWoK uniform.

Yeah, there's different pins for your shoulder strap now. Nice 8)

No Ensign rank and no Lt. Commander ranks. The RALH/UP and VA pins are all the same as well. To make matters worse, most of which sink through the strap making them indistinguishable. There is a lot of work left to be done on this uniform. Here's hoping it doesn't take another 3 years as mentioned above to get it brought up to basic standards.

They still need to add the secondary smaller rank pin on the left sleeve as well!
