User's Customized Settings may bug music/color puzzle in Sphere of Influence

The design and implementation of the music and color puzzle in Sphere of Influence has the following interface:

which allows users to press one or more symbols in a sequence like the classic Simon electronic game.
HOWEVER, this interface is actually multiple pop-ups with delays between interfaces controlled by ??? what ???
When I played this, I experienced bugs. I could not enter more than one symbol, and so I could not complete the mission. I filed bug reports, complaining that it was a poor design, and of course it is, since something was preventing me from entering more than one symbol. I recognized what I had to do: it was the Simon game, but the STO game engine was not showing me the above pop-up interface again.
Being someone who long ago customized my interface to set my audio to my liking, set my keybinds to my liking, etc., and so that I could see immediately what my loot is, I set Tooltips Delay to Zero Seconds as follows:

The Tool Tip Delay is described in the following image:

After talking with other players who had no problems with Sphere of Influence, and assuming that Sphere of Influence is NOT bugged, I tried to fix my STO game engine by reverting my user interface to the Default settings including as follows:

which has Tooltips Delay set to One Second. AND IT WORKED. I was able to complete Sphere of Influence, since the music/color interface pop-ups appear to have a delay controlled by the user's setting of the Tooltips Delay set by the user.
Just in case, for Sphere of Influence, I set the Tooltips Delay to Five Seconds as follows:

and have had no problems since then.
In retrospect, I would have preferred the game devs to have implemented the music/color interface on permanent screens on consoles instead of using pop-up windows which depended on pop-up windows which were affected by user-interface settings.
Otherwise, users should recognize that some of their customized settings may cause missions to appear bugged if such missions rely on pop-ups, sounds, or other factors.
