I think the devs made the right decision not to waste resources on full interiors that would only be used for a single ship and instead making all the functions accessible from the bridge.
I own the Scimitar, lockbox ships, and bugship and don't mind them not having interior. maybe they can just use the standard interior for the warbirds I guess.
Not saying it should never happen, but it should be really low priority compared to content and bugfixes.

I think interiors really could be the prime source of content.
90% of the shows took place on ship interiors. I think it would mean some executive decisions about what's customizable and what's not and dealing with the various C-Store interiors.
But I think having to set new content on new maps holds up content development. (Whereas using placeholder maps was a weakness of exploration.) I think the game really needs interiors where content happens.
in case you havent seen it yet, Cryptic has crafted an amazing set of hallways and bridges for your ships, that will replace the existing default bridges and hallways you now have.. Congratulations..
Of course, nothing was mentioned about doing anything for anyone else else, especially those of us who fly ships wityh nothing but a big empty room they call a bridge, and have no hallways whatsoever.. So typical of Cryptic..
You're flying a scimitar, there is absolutely nothing to complain about.
yes but the slight problem is that we don't fly ships form interiors, and pretty sure almost all of us don't spend hours and hours in ship interiors either, unless you spend awful a lot of time inside the ship for some sentimental reasons
Grinding for MkIV epic gear?
Ain't Nobody Got Time for That
i have no problem with the upgraded interiors fed ships desperately needed, klingon ships and romulan ships look and feel as such, but fed interiors have never looked and felt as such. running around the USS Rapier or USS DeWitt, you do not get the sense of walking through a ship corridor, but rather something like a wind tunnel with a lick of paint.
Consider that the Romulan bridge is about the size the Enterprise-D's bridge should be.
the Romulan bridge is not in size with the ent-d. the ent-d was built for space and comfort which is frequently seen it is design and corridor layout. and there have been various romulan bridges as well;
season 1 last ep of tng when the romulans were encountered once again.
Jarok's scout ship.
Taris' ship the Haakona.
Donatra's valdore type (sto calls it a mogai for some reason).
DS9 Lovok's Romulan ship.
TOS the first encounter with Romulans since the E-R War.
Romulan corridors and crew quarters from Lovok's ship.
Tal's ship corridors and such.
An engineering section of a Romulan science ship.
various other areas through a few other episodes.
This STO bridge for the Romulans is about as big as the central command area of the bridge, the three chairs and a bit of the floor in front and nothing more. Romulan ships were not designed for ease like the ent-d, it was meant for combat which is reflected in it's small bridge design.
T6 Miranda Hero Ship FTW. Been around since Dec 2010 on STO and bought LTS in Apr 2013 for STO.
I consider it fair. The Federation interiors were designed when the game was first made, which makes them extremely outdated. The game designers have VASTLY improved their level design skills, and it really shows with anything post-LoR. Hell, even Klingon interiors look pretty good.
Besides, why is it so bad for them to put more focus on their flagship faction? More people play Federation, and that's a fact.

Feds get this stuff because they're in desperate need of it. Fed interiors have always been way oversized. KDF and Roms never had that issue to begin with. KDF interiors are decent and some of their bridges are actually perfectly scaled (I'm looking at the Raptor bridges).
The new Rom stuff is even better.

Everything written here is true. But since posts need ten characters these two sentences are my way of saying "QFT"
Bah, this redesign is simply window dressing for something that is a non-entity IMO. How bout we work on getting some more ships for the Roms and Klingons.

Only the Origins Bridge will be available at Season 8 launch as the new default bridge option. I hope we can get the hallways in in a future update, but I don't have an ETA on if/when. I'll most definitely pass along the feedback as I think everyone would like to see them.
Klingons have combat missions attacking Fed ship interiors.

Just playing the sceptic here for a second: they never bothere to remaster "Blood of the Empire", which still features the old Klingon homeworld in terms of space- as a well as ground maps. Which confuses the heck out of new players who never knew the old First City. I seriously doubt they will bother to redo Klingon missions like "Second Star to the Right" to give them the new interiors.
No......REALLY?! -facepalm- Yes I know this, but I would had that kind of thing so low on the totem pole that I'd of had those designers working on other things.
Trust me, I know how design teams work Captain Obvious.

And to add to that, I don't think that the scaling in the game is an issue. Sure the sets used in the TV show are relatively small, but.... I have great difficulty imagining the main hallways on a Galaxy class being as narrow as what we see in the show.
We're only getting the bridge, NOT the hallways (at least for now).
That might not actually be a bad thing. On Tribble, the Main Engineering of the new interior is the same one we've known and...tolerated...since launch.
Given a little more time, maybe they'll redo that, too?
...talking to players is like being a mall Santa. Everyone immediately wants to tell you all of the things they want, and you are absolutely powerless to deliver 99% of them.
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
WTF? Are there really three story tall aliens serving in Starfleet somewhere?
Depends how far you wanna look. Obviously the TV shows didn't create any truly weird species for regular use, as it'd have been too expensive. But many of the novels had a lot more variety of body type for Starfleet personnel. One of my favorites had:
Three different species native to the Deneb system, all three of which were 2-3 times human norm size
The Sulamid, featured in several novels by multiple authors.
The Horta. I bet he (it?) had to be careful pressing buttons on the computers! (And yeah, the Horta aren't 3 stories tall, but an example of a non-anthropometric race)

you need to remember that the halls inside a starship are used for more than just people walking. They also get used for moving cargo, and some cargo items are a lot larger than people.

It really could go either way at this point.

Perhaps Cryptic was going for something like this?

The people who make interios don't work on ships.

Apparently not

Epic fail.
Seems we have gone back to launch-era CO styled huge interiors again?
Maybe we are getting our own t-rex to ride through the ship! What an epic way to visit departmnent heads that would be
that would be so FUN!!!!

Just because we don't see them, doesn't mean they don't exist. :P
