Thanks for the feedback, Captains. I will be sure to pass it along as it is important to us. I did want to add a side-note that's not listed in the blog: Our upcoming FE replay event is introducing a new way to earn Lobi, and if my calculations are correct, you should be able to earn over 500 Lobi Crystals from the event if you play daily. More details on that will be posted tomorrow.
That won't get you to 800, but it will help
Cheers,

Well that should help out over halfway so that's not bad. But really Bran I'm disappointed that you didn't Declare yourself Emperor of the first Galatic Empire today. you got to take the initiative.

Not what I expected to hear....
The LOBI is nice, but can you explain to us what the reasoning behind putting the advanced carrier in the LOBI store was?
So it looks like it's essentially an engineering version of the Atrox? That's not a complaint, I have science carriers and tactical carriers, an engineering carrier sounds like a nice change.
As to the 3rd piece of the set being on an expensive lobi store ship -- don't most (all?) of the lobi store ships have a console that completes a set? This isn't new, it's part of the carrot getting you to buy the ship.
It doesn't seem worth 800 lobi though. It's only a slight upgrade over the version you can get for free (except for the console). Why would you spend 800 lobi on that when you could get a Jem'hadar Dreadnaught or Recluse carrier, ships you can't get any other way?

It is still bullocks Brandon. You guys need to decide on ONE monitization strategy. Not, Lobi, Dilithium, and Zen. This triple dipping and incessant grinding is going to cut this game's lifespan way short and cut any long-term profit. As usual, good idea/design, poor execution - that appears to be the mantra.
The LOBI is nice, but can you explain to us what the reasoning behind putting the advanced carrier in the LOBI store was?
..too many fleet modules on the market perhaps? fleet modules translate to ec to buy other things, whereas lobi does not have such a function thus, as you can only get lobi via lockboxes, means more zen transactions/players dilithium supluses being depleted to buy zen
This carrier is heavy engineering, both in boffs and in consoles. It doesn't have a chance at really dealing damage. It doesn't have the heavy science seating to do some epic CC, so what does it do? Tank, maybe? That seeeeems to be what some of its abilities are geared towards. So we will use some threat consoles, tank it up, but wait! There's this fancy new mechanic on cruisers that increases their threat! Oh wait....not a cruiser....right? It's a carrier, so it doesn't get that. So it won't be able to hold threat...Woops! I guess it's not a tank...

Can someone explain the logic in this. Cryptic so you are say that if we are to complete the obeslik ship set we have to spend real life money, I give up on you cryptic.
"You ask why we give our ships computer normal emotions. Do you really want a warship incapable of loyalty?"

The Advanced Obelisk comes with a console that gives it a short duration threat generation and damage reduction power.
Its use is supporting the pets using its 3-piece passive. A dozen gnats stinging you with EPtW-backed Beam Overloads and protected by EPtS will get annoying.
It's a beautiful ship, I assume it's based off the Atrox except is Engineering. Why are all the other engineering cruisers 4 fore/4 aft and the engineering carrier is 3/3 and not 4/3 (at least)? With 2 tac consoles it leaves much to be desired as far as firepower goes. I hope those swarmers are as good as Scorpions. Because Scorpions have set the standard really high.
One day Cryptic will be free from their Perfect World overlord. Until that day comes, they will continue to pamper the whales of this game, and ignore everyone that isn't a whale.
Okay so the positive first. The ship is beautiful. And I see myself flying her for some time. Eventually maybe a year from now with the miscellaneous lock boxes that I can afford when the chance in funds arises or luck with the EC market. The advanced ship would be nice to have but not a dire need. It honestly would be more player friendly to buy it from the c-store or fleet holding at the 4modual price. She really is a beautiful ship, the tech on her looks like it will be a lot of fun to toy around with.
Thank you for the free ship, and will be getting the advanced when ever it become possible for me to do so. Less I find something that will speak to my play style more, like the Fleet Atrox (honestly been waiting for that for a while, give us a bone on it a new console or unique bridge for us caitian fans. there is a very big please in this.)
Space is vast, it's wonderful and maddening. Yet in that madness is some of the greatest beauty I have ever seen.

Something tells me this isn't going to be a "500 lobi per character" deal. I am disappoint, even if i'm not surprised. Play this daily, though? I don't think i've got the stamina to do this every day until Dec. 5th.

That's still forcing players to spend money on something that should have been free. See the above first two quotes for my opinion on the subject.

As I suspected. Still, 500 Lobi for free? I accept that.
As requested on Twitter - will the Obelisk Warp Core and Beam Array be available as rewards once the Carrier is no longer available after Dec 5th?
Additionally, mission replays show a blue-quality Antiproton beam array as a reward - will this also be available after Dec 5th?
The Omni-Directional Antiproton Beam Array and the Obelisk Subspace Rift Warp Core are the missions's standard rewards, so they should be around after the 5th. Same with the blue-quality Antiproton beam array.
I knew it...a better 2 hangar carrier than the mirror voquv as I called it
..guess the kdf lost yet another unique ship type to the feds...
..even so, it'll be a nice ship to fly on my tac cat who has yet to get a ship (I only recently paid up for elite bops so I refuse to switch)
Regarding the bolded part, the Obelisk Carrier has nothing to do with the Federation. It's an alien ship. Perhaps you should learn a bit about that before spouting that this was taken by the Federation, also, it's cross-factional, which means KDF can get the ship as well. so there goes your "theory" that it was "lost."

Excellent. This will serve as ample incentive to repeat the mission over the coming days, instead of doing it all tonight. Also glad to see the AP beam reward will stay, since getting AP weapons is pretty expensive, normally.
I was Really looking forward to This FE Until now. the 800 lobi to get the set is just flat out ridiculous im not a F2Per i am a lifer and own a bunch of C-store ships and all the lock box ships. but With there being no way to buy lobi asking 800 for the set bonus is no much put it in the c -store or somthing really. i dont think im going to play the FE now due to this ide rather ISE on all my alts
Captain Geko has already spilled some of the beans in an interview. But the details may have changed since his then.
They are doing a Featured Episode Replay period. The Free Lobi Crystal that has been a one time deal has changed. Those free account-bound Lobi Cystals can now be gained multiple times. They are on a account based daily cool-down. Do all of the Featured Episodes everyday on a character during the replay period and BAM! 500 Lobi

As long as you are patient and frugal, the ship is well within everyone's reach. Simply do as many of the lobi dailies as you can. Then decide on whether you want to pay ec, dil, or actual money. For the money route, wait for the eventual master key sale and buy as many as you can. Eventually we might have another lobi store sale and you could get the advanced carrier at a reduced price.
The dil/ec route means that you convert your daily dil to zen to make purchases in the game store. Sell those purchases for a profit and work your way to the 80-100 million ec this thing will probably go for on the exchange. The beauty of this route is that grinding with multiple characters makes this process dil process go by much faster.
So this is very much within the grasp of the poor and bereft. Just be calm and resolute. For others... Well they have to pay Michael Dorn somehow, don't they?
Looking at the power for the 3 set bonus.... it is kinda lame i really only seeing it being useful with EPtS that's it otherwise i do not see the reasoning behind it but the 2 piece set is wonderful for the Timeships and people who like AP weapons
I see the I can get it without effort complainers are on. Unless something is basically handed to them exactly how they want it, they will throw fits.
BTW I only have 84 lobi myself, so I'll have to work to get the advanced also.
And from what I read, it isn't anything game breaking not to have it. Oh no you'll have a great carrier anyway without the advanced version, how terrible.
The sense of entitlement from some people never ceases to astound me.
It is not a per-character deal, it's a per-account deal. More details tomorrow.

How will that work for people with only one character versus people who have many? Will someone have to have 20 characters that need to run the content every day for a few weeks to get to the 500 Lobi point or will a person with only a single character be able to get 500 Lobi from the grind?

Just as I'm starting to rebuild enthusiasm for the game you guys go and pull a stunt like this? The hell are you thinking Cryptic? I understand not wanting to give us the full version for nothing - as annoyed as I am with the C-Store prices I'm at a point where I've learned to live with them - but 800 lobi requires a LOT higher investment in either cash or time (farming ECs) than I'm ever going to be willing to put into this game. I did it once with a Jem'hadar Dreadnought - never again.
Also annoying: Putting the carrier's more advanced pets in the fleet holding. My fleet collapsed awhile back and it's down to two active players including myself - I have zero enthusiasm for joining a different fleet solely to advance but it is a practical impossibility for me and my friend to build all the fleet holdings ourselves. Everything you guys have done lately seems pointed toward "You really need to be in a big fleet so you can actually enjoy end game rewards".
And that's just... eugh. And just when I'm starting to enjoy the game again.

I had to ask. At 500 per character, i'd be walking away with a whopping 3500 Lobi, and I just knew that that wasn't going to happen :P
Oh, another question comes to mind - why must you tease us by having a Klingon in full Bortasqu uniform in the mission?! :P
