lore approved! especially from a klingon point of view! it felt very klingon too, i can always count on the klingon writing to be well done. nice preview on what to expect from the voth in game too, in so many words.

I, for one, love the lore blogs. And this one was an especially good summary of the Voth and the potential threat they represent. Keep them coming!

Me to I love the story and Rping with my various captains, it is fun i grind for an hour then go to subspace radio, blackstar, radiostar, etc parties. hang out with my banished orion girls fleet sisters, and just have a good time.

Ah yes, Klingon "Intelligence". We have dismissed that claim.

Good blog with all the characteristic bluster and overconfidence that has cost the Empire so much of its Pepto-Bismol colored blood over the years. They thought they could defeat Kirk in TOS and the TMP movies. They failed. They thought they could crush V'ger. That didn't work out so well.

Humans weak and bothersome? This new generation of Klingons, much like the twitter generation of kids in real life, have no wisdom or historical perspective. Captain Picard stood up before the High Council in person on more than one occasion, and I seem to recall Sisko dishing out a good whupping on a Klingon strike team with his bare hands, Kira and Dax doing much the same notwithstanding.

Because this is a video game, the kling'ns can win against the Voth. Enjoy it while you can, KDF. The empire is crumbling under poor leadership, betrayals, and house infighting. Democracy is coming, and canon is clear that your future is with the Federation. ;-)

where is there canon reference to the klingon empire joining the federation? if you mean the conversation between Wesley Crusher and Capt Picard during "Samaritan Snare" it likely was referencing the alliance between the two

Star Trek Enterprise "Azati Prime." After being brought aboard the Enterprise-J in the 26th Century, Captain Archer is told about the Federation and they mention that Klingons are a member race in that time. Ithenites and Xindi are also mentioned.

    From the Blog:
Two things of interest in Voth physiology is their ability to fire spines from the lower arms that are coated with a paralytic poison and their ability to enter a rabid hibernation state to avoid danger.

Really? They enter a "rabid hibernation state"?? How do they bite and infect an enemy if they're hibernating?;)

[Is it a possible typo, and the KDF (or Star Fleet files the KDF intercepted) meant to say: 'rapid' ??:D:P

Nope. Actual rabid hybernation, like sleepwalking with more mouth-foaming and mauling! jk.

Ahh okay, i went back and watched the episode in question and Daniels does mention klingons are part of the Federartion, though considering this is one possible future among many, i'm not sure that you can take it as canon that klingons will be in the Federation. You can never say that one future shown is going to be THE future until it actually happens.

Klingon Intelligence? We've dismissed your claims of this rumored Klingon 'Intelligence'. No sign of it has been observed in years.

On a serious note. Interesting seeing what the KDF thinks of the Vorn, and the 'Bothersome' comment thrown at Humans and Earth was entertaining. Can't wait to see the Romulan and Fed Int reports.

Poor poor KDF intelligence (isnt that an idiom?) thinking they can assault a species like this willie nillie.... many brave warriors to stovo'kor.. My concern is that these underwhelming klingon forces are going to drag the entire alpha quadrant into yet another conflict.. A woeful prospect..

Saying that the Klingons are going to join the Federation is as valid as saying the Klingons will conquer the Federation.

    Alternate timelimes.
We have one (Azati Prime) in which the Klingons joined the Feds, and we have one (Yesterdays Enterprise) in which the Klingons conquered both the Romulan Star Empire and the Federation.

(Just to be crushed by the Dominion and their Tholian allies if we are going by Star Trek Online)

It is amusing how the federation propaganda ministry is desperately trying to cover up further Federation mistakes by trying to blame Klingon Intelligence for faulty information that they took from the cold dead hands of Federation Captains in the first place.

Though considering how desperatly they are trying to replace all those frontline losses, which can easily be seen by the large ammount of new types of ships they were trying to get into service as soon as possible (A clear sign of losing a conflict if the enemy does not even bother to try and keep up), would be a good explanation for the decline of quality within the Federation.

Though I do understand that the Federations Fanfiction (which is all badly written!) databank is pretty bothersome considering how often it gets cited as if it were real.

    The Voth: Tactical Analysis

    (1) The Voth are not edible.

    (2) The Voth are unlikely to feed us deliberately, but they have big city ships that probably contain a lot of things we can eat.

    (3) The Voth are likely to carry things we can eat on their persons (cf. file 475003A: "Tholians Carrying Banana Splits on Nukara")

    (4) The Voth may try to eat us, since they seem to be big lizard people, but our reproductive rate makes them, like everything else in the galaxy, a negligible threat.

    (5) The Voth constantly reference something called "The Doctrine," but it seems to be a set of abstract ideas rather than a type of food or receptacle for food, so it warrants no further attention.

    (6) The humans ran into the Voth once, in a human ship that had a lot of food on it. The whereabouts of any food that might be remaining from that ship is currently unknown.

    (7) It is unclear whether the Voth know about second breakfast.

"Critics who say that the optimistic utopia Star Trek depicted is now outmoded forget the cultural context that gave birth to it: Star Trek was not a manifestation of optimism when optimism was easy. Star Trek declared a hope for a future that nobody stuck in the present could believe in. For all our struggles today, we haven’t outgrown the need for stories like Star Trek. We need tales of optimism, of heroes, of courage and goodness now as much as we’ve ever needed them."

I hate to point this out....but this cant be a Klingon intelligence report.

As is clearly told to everyone over and over....any reports that shows signs of weakness are altered.

In fact, that was the reason the Klingon Empire would not help some Klingons who had come from the future and asked for help.
Because not only where they weaklings but it was a total disgrace, thus they where dismissed and also it was from then on that no experimentation or usage of time travel would be tolerated.

If this had been an actual Klingon report, not only would there not be information about star fleet in it....but it would simply be a tactical report saying to go and destroy them now, for being a bunch of (for lack of a better Klingon translation) <weak gorn wannabees>

Though...I have to admit....since every group has a big ship that can cloak and use 5 forward weapons with special consoles and launch fighters and a lot of other things and basically out do any of the Klingon ships in the entire Klingon fleet......I am not sure the Klingon Empire would even bother with these Voth.....since it would be kind of a waste of time and resources....better to have the groups with better stuff do the work for the Empire....thus allowing the Empire a time period where they could attack the other groups while their big ships are away.

Besides the Voth don't truly understand the value of Blood Wine and Warm Gacht anywise.

Power without Perception is Spiritually useless and therefore of no true value.

Agreed, Klingons often try to twist some facts for their likening.

Good point about the Blood Wine :).

It would be nice if Klingon Intelligence would find us some 5 tactical console ships while they are coming up with ways to fight the voth LOL.

Yo, some ships with 5 front guns and 5 tac consoles other than the Bortasqu would be appreciated.
