Given that the Voth on Tribble seem to be using a new hybrid torpedo, a "Chroniton-Transphasic" torpedo, and that there are rumors of a new Reputation on the Horizon, would it be reasonable to speculate that this is a sign of a new class of "Hybrid Torpedoes"? These would be torps which sacrifice a modifier in exchange for having the functions of 2 different torpedoes, and would possibly be Rep store unlocks, like the Romulan-Plasma energy weapons.
One might think it reasonable...but that would be discounting Cryptic's hatred of torpedoes.
Still, there are a few hybrid/pseudo-hybrid-multidoohickey torpedoes...so it's possible they could add more.
But, have to figure that it would more likely be tied into the Rep as a secondary set, no? Kind of like some of what we have with the New Rom, Omega, and even Nukara?
Well I definitely understand where you're coming from. To be fair though, they did release the Web Mines and the T'varo, and both happen to be the most epic things to happen to torpedo boats IMO, and it seems at least one of the Voth missions is tending to favor kinetic-heavy ships. So... it could go either way it seems.
But I'm not sure about that one torp being in a 3pc set. It just doesn't strike me as "unique" as, say, the Romulan Hyper in terms of functionality. It's more like how Romulan NPCs use plasma beams, and Romulan plasma beams in general are store unlocks and not part of a set. I could be wrong though.
It could be along the lines of the Hyper Dual R-Tet Beam Bank and the R-Tet weapons from the Rep Store. Though, have to figure that the energy weapon in the set would get the special treatment as opposed to the projectile weapon. Though, it would be pretty nifty if it was the other way around...
Very Special Projectile in the Set, Special Projectiles in the Store.
There's also the Elachi lobi set. Since the other sets have included a turret, a single cannon, a beam array, and a DBB, think a Voth set would include some form of dual cannon, or would they want to avoid something that couldn't be mounted on every ship?

Everything is usable by any ship (even if you wouldn't use it for a particular ship or build), so I doubt there's going to be any DHCs or DCs in a set.
But speaking of sets, we may very well see both the Reputation Set as well as a Lockbox release with a Lobi Set...as well as Lockbox Weapons. So it's possible that additional items could show either in the Rep Store or as Lockbox Weapons, eh?
Whether that focus is on more energy weapon choices or more projectile weapon choices will be interesting, imho...cause there's also the speculation about the new Fleet holding and the potential of Tac Consoles.
S8...hrmm...yeah...we'll have to see as the dev blogs continue to come out.

Omega Torp, Assimilated Module, Cutting Beam
Hyper Torp, Zero-Point Conduit, Experimental Beam
Web Mines, Nukara Console, Hyper Dual Beam
Voth Torp, Voth Console, Voth Energy Weapon
And much like the other three sets, a projectile will be included in the set but not buffed by the set...only the energy weapon will be...meh.
Am I jaded?

Okay, let's do all the sets.

Omega Plasma Torpedo Launcher
Romulan Singularity Harness
Console: Zero-Point Energy Conduit
Experimental Romulan Plasma Beam Array
Romulan Hyper-Plasma Torpedo Launcher
Nukara Appropriated Munitions
Console: Nukara Particle Converter
Hyper-Dual Refracting Tetryon Beam Bank
Nukara Web Mine Launcher
Next, the Lobi Store Sets...
Ferengi Marauder
Console: Rule 62 Multipurpose Combat Console
Rapid Fire Missile Launcher
Concentrated Tachyon Mine Launcher
Temporal Warfare
Console: Tachyokinetic Converter
Chroniton Dual Beam Array
Temporal Disruption Device
Silent Enemy
Console: Bioneural Infusion Circuits
Heavy Crescent Wave Cannon
Elachi Subspace Torpedo Launcher
Everything is usable by any ship (even if you wouldn't use it for a particular ship or build), so I doubt there's going to be any DHCs or DCs in a set.
