Foundry dilithium rewards.

richarddoverricharddover Member Posts: 166 Arc User
Tonight I decided to pick up an easy foundry mission, intending to fill my 8k refining cap for the day. It was a mission I've played many times before. Today though, after accepting the mission and closing the window, I had the feeling I missed something. Re-opening the foundry missions I noticed what it was... The mission I have done so many times now sports the message 'This mission does not qualify for any rewards'.

Bummer.

But, this seems to be a trend with Cryptic/PWE lately. More and more foundry missions are being stripped of their Dilithium and/or XP rewards. In a while, all that's going to be left are foundry missions that give you a meager 680 Dilithium for an hour or more of playing that one, single mission. And outside of the foundry, we'll be stuck with mindless, boring grinds like the 'Strange New Worlds', or the Asteroid Mining.

I honestly believe that we should be able to earn some dilithium with the shorter/easy missions, or Cryptic needs to up the reward for the longer missions.

    Thread moved.

If you want your feedback to be seen by the Devs that work on the Foundry, you really should be posting here.

As I understand it, the reward is based on average playtime for the mission. Easy missions that people can play through quickly might end up being too short for the reward, especially if people get so familiar with it that they're completing it faster.

You could send feedback to the author of the mission and ask them to "pad" it to make it long enough to qualify again.

Personally, I think the sweet spot is a mission that takes about 20 minutes to complete.

The dilithium rewarded is based on the average play time of a mission.

On that note there's is also a minimum average length that will still reward dilithium (rumoured to be 15 minutes)

Once the average playtime drops below 15 minutes the mission will no longer reward dilithium.

If people "figure out" a mission and start blasting through it in less than 15 minutes eventually the average time will drop far enough that it no longer qualifies.

    For reference
    Avg 15 minutes = 480 dilithium
    Avg 1 hour = 1440 dilithium

you never get rewards for your own missions now. but others do. How many people have played your mission? IIRC you need at least 10 for it to qualify.

There are a couple of KDF missions right now on the "reviewer list" that have only 3 reviews and give rewards. I'm not sure how that translates into "plays", but I would think most people at least leave a star rating behind.
