    Genuinely surprised by this. Never thought they would do this.

    Can't help but feel there will be some horrible catch.

    Hmm. Should be happy (might actually be able to scrounge enough for a Tachyo), but have this nagging feeling. "When something seems too good to be true, it probably is."

    Well, they had to do something to put out the flames from Geko's snafu ;)

    I am also in the camp that Cryptic never give something away unless its very old or dead...

    That's awesome.

    The catch will probably be some horrible restriction on FE lobis, but even if they remove them, I still think account based lobi is better than 20free lobis ocne per year.

    So yeah, great news !

    Im not getting my hopes up its on redskirt right now and cryptic could decide NOT to implement it to the holodeck.

    Devs have a sick sense of humor people and teasing you with account bound lobi on a test server but not taking it live would be very troll of the devs.

    Anyways till it goes live i wont hold my breath

    I wouldn't say you're 'wrong' until it goes live on Holodeck.

    I think they may "reclassify" the 1 free Lobi you can get at lvl 20 (?) to not being a "true Lobi crystal". The little quest with it would still introduce you to the Lobi store and such but will not actually give a free Lobi, you get a faux lobi, and thus game balance is maintained.

    Hopefully more items that are currently character bound will change to being account bound. For instance weapons consoles are cboe while most weapons are acoe. Why are the consoles bound to character but the weapons are bound to account? Where's the uniformity?

    Clearly sales have dropped thanks to the lackluster Elachi lock box, so now they are trying new ways to meet their bottom line.

    First they did lobi store discounts; that didn't work, so now they are removing the boa on lobi...
    Still a shifty way of doing it though, I agree ;)

    Mark me down in the "Thanks, but why?!" column. I mean, should I need Lobi on another toon on my account, I will just switch to that toon and open boxes there. :) But I nonetheless appreciate the Devs listening to the community.

    What makes you think sales have dropped, or that the Lobi discounts didn't increase sales?

    Yeah... it's likely they've probably always been this low;

    Ships that you have to spend so much on keys to open the lockboxes for the Lobi for that you could probably buy the Oddy/Bortasque/Scimmi (choose your faction) 3-pack instead.

    Uniforms that, for the most part, only work on your captains and not on your BOffs. (Who else here feels a little gypped that the Wells and Korath uniforms are captains-only? )

    Vanity pets when people are already begging for a 'pethouse' seperate from their inventory for their Hortas, Phoenixes, Epohhs, Targs, etc...

    Making Lobi account-bound so that you can move it to the characters that 'need' it for something is probably the first step on the road to giving the Lobi Store some actual respectibility instead of just the 'booby prize' store for those who don't get the Tal Shiar Destroyer, Elachi S'golth, D'Kora, Galor, etc...

    Umm wells uni isn't captain only, 6 of my boffs wear it. Although I don't know about the korath unim

    Mistake on my part then.

    I knew that the Korath uniform was captain-only since I wanted all my officers to wear the sash, boots and gauntlets from it and only the captain was allowed. I assumed that it was the same way for the Federation equivilent and not that once again KDF was getting short-ended on costumes...
