have you "rom" players ever try 1,000 day vet rom ship, "Deainos Warbird Destroyer"?
lot of console slots and very fast turns.
The standard Romulan ship lineup, to include the T5 C-Store ships, are all great in their own ways. The ships are so OP that the lineup is sometimes referred to as Tier 5.5 or 6.0. Among the large selection of very good TAC oriented Escort Warbirds, the Romulan Veteran Ship is the worst. The hull is ok. The shield mod is terrible at 0.83 compared to standard Ha'feh which has 0.9, Mogai Retrofit at 1.0, Dhelan Retrofit at 0.95, T'Varo Retrofit at 0.9. And they ALL have Romulan Battle Cloaks.
It's turn rate is only 14, equal to the Mogai Retrofit, which is the lowest turn rate of all the TAC Warbirds. The Mogai however has some very nifty consoles and hitting power from it (2 piece bonus is more weapons power and 25 Weapons Subsystem Power Drain Resist, big deal in ensuring high energy for your weapons; Also Ionized Particle Beam that hits hard with electrical damage), more survivability with better shields.
If you contrast the Vet ship to the other TAC Warbirds, they are still more survivable, faster turning (Ha'feh, Dhelan). Or in the T'Varo's case, much superior cloak (Enhanced Battle Cloak).
In other words, since the other Warbirds have Romulan Battle Cloaks and better survivability, better shields, the Vet ship isn't competitive.
Not saying you can't make a good ship out of the Daeinos, but there's far better Warbirds out there.
If you played a game with a subscription you'd be paying monthly fees.
If you buy your ships sparingly you find you pay next to nothing to play this game. You can fly a the normal T5 Ha'Feh and do well.
You can save your Dilithium and convert it to Zen and buy the ship that way.
But if you have a job spending a couple of buck to get a ship for a game you play for free isn't a big deal.
Free 2 Play means they need to fund the server some other way and in this game it's selling ships, a C-Store ship is a far better deal than 20 keys and a good feeling.
I was once DKnight1000, apparently I had taken my own name so now I'm DKnight0001. If I ask you a question it is not an insult but a genuine attempt to understand why. When I insult you I won't be discreet about it, I will be precise and to the point stupid.
If it is firepower you are looking for then look no further that the Romulan Scimitar. It does turn like a pregnant whale but, It is a good ship to stay alive in assuming you know how to use it right. but if you are going to use cannons you need to equip 1 or more RCS consoles. I use cannons and managed to get my shield power up to 17,000 per facing shield.
I also managed to get my hull HP up to 62,000 Which keeps me alive in almost every situation, even in PvP. I have not regretted using the scimitar for assaults across the galaxy. I think it was the best fifty dollars I have ever spent on this game.

it is an escort... that is the size of a cruiser, with the crew of a sci ship, that looks like a fat pigeon
>_> everything about it is fine except that
It does, rather, doesn't it? Personally I don't care much for the design of any of the T4 ships. I don't see any connection to the ships from the TV series / movies other than the colour. They're big and graceless.
The D'deridex is obviously sexy and I like the D'rithdau. I think they did a fantastic job modernising the T'liss to produce the T'varo and the Dhelan (with alternate wings) looks ok. And I'm a fan of the Daeinos. But those T4s are not something I can love.
I gave up my arkif for the fleet mogai, and im loving it so far. Similar tactical setup, I lost grav well but gained a ton of survivability, and with the valdore model it looks decent too.
I've managed to get 36k critz with the ionized particle beam so far, and I don't have any points in particle generators. With the set bonus, assimilated space set, and plasmonic leech im able to run all of my power levels at just over 75, with weapons at 125.
I do wish there were more ship costumes/customization for it though. Would be nice if they could add a griffin outfit for it.
It's got heals, its tanky, its consistently places 1st and 2nd in CCE.
I love it. It is kind of fat though and people look down at it until they see the parse.
In my experience, you don't need the fleet D'D for that. My regular D'D has racked up an impressive number of firsts.
I use an A2B build, and managing that with Grav Well is tricky. But I've noticed that anything that boosts Aux will override the Aux drain from A2B, so you can go A2B > EPS transfer > Gravwell and not lose any of the punch on Grav Well.
Count one more happy T'varo pilot, here. I liked the fleet version so much that I went back and picked up the Zen version after dropping 4 FSMs on it. Set it up for a pure torpedo/mine build, never looked back.
Oddly enough, the Ha'(add in suffix) series was actually designed after owls, not pigeons. Someone failed badly there methinks XD.
ANYWAYS to OP:
If you want pure damage: Tactical Scimitar.
There is no other ship in game with the ludicrous amount of raw forward firepower that ship packs. And I mean it can burn things down in PvE in seconds. And yes, I mean SECONDS. And in PvP, if you get a proper decloaking alpha, you can wipe out a healer recluse in usually one salvo.
If you want utility and damage: Fleet Dhelan.
You get the firepower of the Cmdr Tac + 5 Tac consoles in addition to the LtCmdr sci which gives you a VM/GW/TR/something else to ruin someone's day. You also get a ton of maneuverability and slipperyness (you ever tried to catch one of those things? If it doesn't want you to catch it, even Risian Corvettes have a hard time keeping up), and you also get a battle-cloak which means you can set up some crazy decloaking alphas. It also works well in PvE.
If you want survival with still respectable damage: Fleet D'Deridex/Fleet Ha'apex.
They're bloody tanks. Need more be said. It's hard for ANY romulan ship to not deal lots of damage, since most of them have additional power to weapons, all of them have battle cloak, and rommie BOffs are amazing.
Just my 2 ECs.
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once.
Oddly enough, the Ha'(add in suffix) series was actually designed after owls, not pigeons. Someone failed badly there methinks XD.
Actually, I've always thought the Ha'nom looked like an owl, with that big fat head. And while the Ha'apex just looks busy, I love the Haakona version with the top wings up and the bottom 'wings' down like it's reaching for prey. If there was an optional narrower 'head' section I'd like it much better...

I must be flying the wrong ship. I usually try to keep my nose on target.
The two are not mutually exclusive. In the right hands a Scimitar can keep it's nose on target while powersliding around a target (you'll be flying in an oblong box more or less), retaining both forward fire and your defense bonus.
It looks and feels absurd the first few times you try it, but the survivability benefits (not to mention the sheer hilarity of the whole thing) more than make up for it.

The Scimitar is more effective in this way... if you get the right timing and speed, you can powerslide, kill dozens of targets during alpha, hit the EM, circle arround and vanish.

Oh, I know. I do the same thing with my Tor'kaht. I look ludicrous, but it kills things like nothing else. Besides, there isn't anything funnier than watching a Scimitar decloak, WHILE flying sideways... WHILE still killing you.

I don't even need to hit EM. Nothing left to shoot at me =P

Only problem there being it's clunky BOff layout that doesn't always flow correctly, and it's sprite and turn axis can make using DHCs a pain sometimes.

- BEST CONSOLE LAYOUT (3-2-4 / 3-2-5 Fleet)
- Very Good Boff Layout (the Best would is the one of the Armitage)
- Beautiful Look (if you have the Haakona).
I spent about 300.000 dil to buy the Haakona, now i'm refining to buy 4 fleet modules and the EC Cap expansion *_*
Some days I like the Fleet Mogai, and some day I like the Fleet Dhelan on my sci toon. Mogai boff setup lends itself to a better alpha and is more durable but dhelan seems a better fit for a sci. Never cared for the T'varo that much, not sure why. Scimitar is either love it or hate it.
I've flown a Scimitar and it's current build works out quite well and the fact that shield stay on while cloaking allow you to replenish your crew at the cost of your singularity charge, unless you've already used it. Anyway you should buy it,it's better than the versatile D'deridex retros,so you should buy them in the 3-pack!

I would beg to differ on the Armitage being the best layout. Besides, you basically get that with the Mogai, and a superior console layout to boot. The Armitage has what, 3 tactical BOff slots? That's a mite too much. Not very useful tbh, you could easily use a HE or TSS instead of that extra... well whatever you would put there.

been trying out the mirror Ha'feh and I have to agree it really is a good ship I really want the fleet version but have to wait till my fleet hit tier 5
I've loved my fleet mogai since I got it. Perfect romulan ship IMO - fast and maneuverable like an escort, but packing the shield and hull strength of a light to medium cruiser.

Per the game's nomenclature for ship roles, it has more in common with destroyers IMO than escorts or battlecruisers. Mid-range HP in between an escort and cruiser/battlecruiser, 3 device slots, better turn rate than a battlecruiser but not as good as an escort. I'm gonna ditch the Ar'kif and pick up a Fleet Mogai soon (one of the reasons being the Fleet Ar'kif needs a Tier 3 Spire, and I'll hit tier 3 shipyard before that easily).
I'm playing as a tactical romulun and having truble choosing the best ship for him right now I'm flying a temporal science ship but thinking about switching with more fire power

It's very competitive if you're not at all interested in being assimilated by the Greed Collective? and paying $20-25 for a ship off the C-$tore.

62,000 that is a amazing feat grats
Stats are stats, and the numbers do not lie. The stats favor the other Warbirds.

My character Tsin'xing
Wish it had a Lt tac instead of a Ensign tac, but thats the price for a Lt Comm SCI station. Damn usefull.
Interesting how people underlook the Ha'feh too.
But in terms of fun, T'varo, hands down. Effiency? DPS? Beamboat scimitar with bfaw and elite drones. Its scary.

Armitage Boffs:
Cmd Tac: TT1 - CRF1 - APB2 - APB3
Lt.Cmd Eng: EPtS1 - RSP1 - AtSIF2
Lt. Tac: THY1 - CRF1
Lt. Sci: HE1 - TSS2
Ens Tac: THY1

Lt.Cmd Tac: THY1 - CRF1 - THY3
Lt. Eng: EPtS1 - AtSIF1

that's why i'd say armitage boff set is better.
