So I was in the OPvP channel having a chat with jkname, and we were talkin about funny times in Ker'rat and in the Arenas, and I decided, hey, let's start a thread for this kind of stuff.

So here it is! Funny times in any PvP event. Whether it be hilarious deaths, funny kills, or just downright vulgarly amusing games, have at it!
It is said the best weapon is one that is never fired. I disagree. The best weapon is one you only have to fire... once. B)

Setting, Kerrat. Scene, battle between myself and a KDF BoP.

    There I was...

I was in my fleet Defiant, beating up the BoP. The guy can tell he's losing, so he uses evasive to speed off. Just before he leaves weapons range, I fire a fleet quantum torpedo with THY at him. His ship disappears off sensors with battle cloak... boom. BoP explodes from the torpedo impact, with no shields. :D
I ask nothing but that you remember me.

    Well.... one Arena.

I was in my T'Varo, testing an alpha striker some time ago.

Decloak, alpha. He's not quite dead, so I pop the megatorp and turn to move off. However, a few seconds later.....

    *BOOM*
    T'Scurr has killed ****
    T'Scurr has killed T'Scurr.

Turns out the torp megacritted both me and my target simultaneously. Many lols were had that day.

K v F arena space, on my fed tac

Premade KDF team vs Pug fed team

We get absolutely massacred by them.

    14-1

Where did the 1 come from?

I ran away from their ball of cheese death after a respawn, and was hanging out about 25k away, and one of them decided to be a smartass and chase me down, probably thought he was gonna instapop this scrub baddie (in his mind)

I destroyed him 1v1. Not even a challenge. Without his crosshealers to save him, he was nothing, despite being in a JHAS and all.

One of the biggest trashtalkers in zone as well, owned.

A lot of players find out the hard way that taking a seasoned feddie as part of a group vs. 1v1'ing them are two very different scenarios.

I've lost count of the number of times I've had BOP or JHAS pilots ask me to meet them over cracked in Ker'rat after seeing me pop in a 4v1 or 5v1 gank. I typically rofl-stomp them on the first pass. Those beams may not pack an individual punch when scattered across a bunch of targets, but when I concentrate them on one ship - and kick in DEM3, APA3, APO1 and FOMM3 - they tend to melt their itty-bitty hulls rather quickly.

It's a wise BOP or JHAS pilot who realizes that their role in PvP is to hit-and-run and that, without the klinkball to support them, a well piloted cruiser can be a very difficult beast to subdue. :)

5v5 FvK Arena match. My team getting roflstomped HARD (ok the score didn't reflect that, but it sure as hell felt like it). So I just decide, eh, to hell with it, and hit every buff I have, decloak, and start a Thalaron. Enemy team moves out of it, and starts fighting again. Since I am out of action for the next 10 seconds, they ignore me completely and start getting back to killing my team.

It's 13 to 11. I have 8 seconds left on my Thalaron. Suddenly... out of nowhere, this KDF BoP decloaks and says on zone: "**** YOU ***HOLES!!!" I think "Oh great, I'm dead. Oh wells." Instead, he hits me with a full power TBR, and pushes me PAST the battle going on behind me. End result: I have 2 seconds left on Thalaron, 4 enemies in front of me fighting my team. This Thalaron has an APA3, APO3, TF2, and full Aux power behind it. Sufficed to say, this was gonna hurt.

2 seconds later, it fires. 2 guys killed outright, and the other 2 badly weakened. BoP nowhere to be found. I fire off my subspace integration circuit into the survivors, and my team finishes them off. Match ends, 14 to 15, with blues on top. The BoP calls his team a bunch of rather... rude names, and then leaves. He later whispers me telling me they were a bunch of ***holes and insulted him because he chose to use a BoP.

Moral of the story: NEVER TRIBBLE off a BoP. They just might push the Thalaron to you!

I remember one time I was in Ker'rat in a Vor'cha-R that was rather odd.

I'm cloaked, looking for a Starfleet target, which I quickly found. I decloak, start firing, and the guy immediately hits evasive and runs away.

Then I notice someone is still firing phasers at me. Looking around, I realise that someone is flying around in a shuttle. Naturally, I target the shuttle and use Boarding Party, then sit there and laugh as that tiny shuttle gets chased down by three others.

A few seconds later I get the message "your boarding party killed me lol". Moments like that are why I love Ker'rat. :D

Yeah, I know. Tbh, I was just firing it off for Lolz, since were were already going to get spanked. 2 kills left before defeat, and we had a particularly squishy Mobius. He was squishy but by god could he put out damage. But he was focused due to that massive damage output.

Was watching a Ker'rat Bortas regular do his thing, you probably know who it is. Park in the middle of the map uncloaked, wait for some plucky escort to come along and start shooting, he doesn't fight back, no buffs, escort takes him down to 35%. Then EptA, Feedback Pulse, boom. Dead escort in a second.

Watching a post game 5v5 video.

Our side's decloaker has all cooldowns at the ready, to come in for an all out strike.

Several seconds later, someone mentions scrambles and Biebs (our side) ends up exploding...vaped instantly by our side's escort.

It took the team almost a full 30s to get the laughter under control, and start focusing on the match again.

Ii remember when I first bought my Excelsior (right when it was released) a fleetie' of mine was in his science ship trying to do the Kerrat Borg missions for points. A BoP kept on picking on him and wouldn't leave him be. He called out to the fleet for help on TS, so I brought my shiney new Excel' to Kerrat for some christening fun. At this point of time in the game, not too many players had learned the value of a Mask Energy Signature 2 yet. I hit my ME2 and trailed behind my sci' buddy while he is doing the mission part of the fight.

Lo' and behold that BoP decloaks and starts dumping into him. I within 2km of the BoP kill my ME2, pop a weapons battery, Fire on my Mark and BO3 + HYT1 for the opening volley, taking him down to low hull. He tries to get away but I had EPTE and EM going to run him down, which I did and finished him off. For about the next 10 minutes he kept calling me a cheat and a hack because I broke the system and I found a way to use a cloaking device on a Fed' cruiser.

I can still picture in my head a scene where a BoP is shooting a ship and all of a sudden the Klingon battle music cranks up and an Excelsior decloaks of the ships stern.

    Ker'rat, a few weeks ago...

There is one crazy sci FBP'er who I think everyone knows, as he or she is a major trash talker despite getting blown up numerous times, especially when he/she is in their BoP...

Thinking that they could kill me with their FBP (It's impossible for he/she to kill experienced people without it and alone) he/she came right in at me...

Luckily, that day I wanted to use an unorthodox build...

Say hello to Transphasics! They don't really agree with FBP, as you all know :D

Much laughter was to be had that afternoon over that person's exploding ship

Agreed when it comes to BoPs. Heck, nowadays it's bloody difficult using a BoP to solo-kill a target when it's not doing anything. Especially since Cryptic is apparently focusing on nerfing super-concentrated burst damage.

I frequent Ker'rat a lot, and I know I'm not THAT good, and that my build wouldn't last long in a 1v1 situation. I work best with a sci wingman. Well-timed scans and subnukes make a big difference.

Premade vs Premade 5v5 Arena match a few weeks back.

My friends and I were bored, so we decided to do some light-hearted PvP. General rule of thumb was power at 50 across the board (40 for the rommies). The only other rule was to basically have fun.

So I was in my FACR and I had a friend in a Corvette. We were following this JHDC around and just randomly shooting down it's pets, not actually trying to kill the carrier. Then this Monbosh wanders by randomly firing beams at us, and we take offense to it.

So the two of us find the two guys who are spamming tric mines on the other side of the map, and we TRIBBLE them off. So now we have two guys who are chasing us and spamming mines. Soon my friend the Corvette is trailing mines, just like Galaxy Quest.

So my friend has a good 8 or 9 tric mines following him around. We find the Monbosh, and I engage it while my friend flies right up next to it and sits still. Enter the mines: he hits BFI and I hit him with a full aux power Aux2SIF3 and HE1 and TSS2, and he also blows all of his defensive buffs. And at the last split second hits EM3. And all 9 mines go off. The Monbosh is history, and the corvette is sitting at 10% hull laughing his rear off in TS.

A second later, my other friend in a T'varo decloaks and vapes him. Sufficed to say, the TS was nothing but laughter for a few minutes.

Yeah, I noticed she's only really 'good' when she's flying her FBP spamboat with whatever else is on that. That's largely because people keep shooting her, and not really caring if they blow up because it's Ker'rat. On any other build, she's average in skill and capability.

    Kerrat a few days ago

Bored of kerrat farming as a fed (yay feddy meat shields!), I flipped over to my kdf corvette, planning to turn a few farmers to spacedust (as is the norm..)

However...I forgot my cannon corvette was loaded for pve, not pvp (so csv, less heals than normal, ect) so I wasn't about to do much harm by myself - but nevermind, for the fun, I decided to just csv spam the fedball - and of course, attracting every fedrom ganker in the instance, eager to get an easy kill on a non cloaker...

..Problem was - I built my corvette to do 90+ impulse normally - and I carry dual apo and a polarise hull to prevent any chance of being movement debuffed - put simply, if I hit evasive, they have to full impulse to catch me (to shoot, I have to drop to 3/4 impulse or less to have enough time to run a full shot cycle)

long story short, what followed was an hour and a half of what I'd term 'stop the pigeon' - with me as the pigeon being pursued by at least six feds - with my fellow kdfers following them, turning kerrat into an 'protect the corvette' mission that was pretty fun for all involved

(I also learnt a new trick messing about I call the 'ewp burnout' namely ..let the enemy tractor grab you at half impulse, hit tt, then ewp then your movement buffs before hitting apo and maximum impulse - the 'burnout' looks pretty cool, as if your nacelles are being took to the limit - and even better; you opponent is liable to fly straight into the ewp cloud, slowing them - of course a pm/zonechat 'see ya' or 'meep meep' is obligatory :3)

Just made a seperate thread about this battle...

Last night I was challenged by a Tac - CRF, APatterns, Antiproton DHC and Turrets bug.

I was in my Wells Class, as a sci, running my FBP build.

It was so epic, was really close for about 3-4 mins...

Then he loads up a massive Burst DPS Crf to finish me off....
He unloads Antiproton hell into my shields and hull, I crumble an implode under then massive DPS, ....but

About 20 FBP's are still heading right at him as I'm going nova...
Through the fire, I can see the crackling Pulses impact his vessel with great devestation, with 1 or 2 pulses left, his hull breech and he blowns up into hot plasma...

Off to Sto'Ka'Vor for the both of us...

We acknowledged the awesomeness of a DOUBLE KO in STO..
We stopped our match there...laughing at the luck of the draw and epic conclusion to our battle.
Was wicked I was smiling for hours..still smiling now

I have a few friends with Vestas, they like to do "Vesta Pong". They turn on their gravimetric shields at once, and then one fires a torpedo. The other's shields bounces back the purple pulse... which bounces back a stronger pulse... which bounces back a stronger pulse... This does more damage to them each time until one finally blows up from it. Of course, by then the pulse has gotten so strong that it bounces back to the other and destroys him too.

I'd love to watch that purely for the laughs of seeing it happen.

Hmm.....makes me wonder if FBP triggers on FBP pulses - if you can get the modifier over 1.0, you could get the same with energy weapons.

I have a new funny story.. Happened last night..

So I was doign a TD with Mini. We were trying out a Mogai stratigy..

At one point I'm flying around and notice the "Proc" is up on some one so I announce it to mini..

Suddenly I hear some one else die.. and then I see across the screen..

So and so has been defeated by Emo
So and so has been defeated by Emo
So and so has been defeated by Emo
So and so has been defeated by Emo

And my eyes bugged out of my head for a moment before I asked in TS: "Did mini just kill 4 people at once?!" before loling ensued.

Good times. Proof that Fun can be had with in TD.. especially when Mini is involved. :D
