I'd like to take a short break from some of the incredibly serious discussions to draw attention to a forgotten issue. Quad Cannon DMGx4 mod might be ok in other parts of the game but it's rather underwhelming in PvP. While I'd have preferred them to have been a console that modified DCs and DHCs, could we at least see some different variations? I thought I saw Andorian weapons with different mod options somewhere.
Think about it! ^^

Foundry: Yet Another Borg Mission
It's terrible but easy, and these Borg are way cooler than the mess STO and Voyager left us.
May not actually be "way" cooler or even "slightly" cooler.
So you are saying you would like them to be DMGx6 then? :P
Here's my proposal:
Make an Adv Fleet Version
ACCx2 DMGx2
Same number of mods
Now has ACC
Balanced vs. Other comparable weapons
Requires minimal development effort
Has an inherent cost (dilithium & fleet credits)

I like this, I'd also keep the 1X per ship limit and possibly up the power drain cost.
I am more interested in them making them available to other energy types. I don't care if the proc is still that of phasers, I just want to be able to put one on my disrupter using (fed aligned) Scimitar without it looking and sounding stupid. Additionally, why not sell them as fleet weapons to those who have the T4 ship. I would love to have three of them on the defiant.
Crafting Revamp...Craftable Mods of Varying Qualities!
Crafting Reputation...Ultra Rare Mod Recipes!
The ability to slot weapons with different mods, destroying the current mod while replacing it with the new mod.
Etc, etc, etc...they could monetize the Hell out of something like this, no? Think how wonderfully unbalanced the game could become with non-standard mods as well, eh? How about slapping in [Acc]x3[SDisrupt] or [Acc]x2[SDisrupt][ShH] on there, eh?
I remain empathetic to the concerns of my community, but do me a favor and lay off the god damn name calling and petty remarks. It will get you nowhere.
I must admit, respect points to Trendy for laying down the law like that.
I would like to be able to get different flavours of them and maybe even equip more than 1 of them. However, and I know this will be unpopular, it should remain only unlocked to those that bought the sao paolo defiant.
Oh and incidentally no you can't equip the phasers and plasma or disruptor and plasma at the same time, I tried it on tribble =(

I'd rather have a overall system revamp, the current one with the continuous adding of ships, consoles, is just too much for a new 50 character. the system was in place to allow for everyone (at the time of the subscription system) to play on the ship they wanted, how they wanted.
Now we have a P2W model (and yes that is MY opinion), which caters to "paying costumers" with non stock ships (i.e., above the average stats) with shiny consoles, which ppl will obviously want to get the sets.
This "mind boggling" ship release spree without a revamp is just insulting for ppl that actually want to play a game in a fun competitive multi-environment. PvE is just too grindy, its the same thing over and over and over. The amount of escorts in pvp is just overwhelming. That calls for something, doesn't it? You rarely see a sci ship in a match unless its on a premade. I love playing a sci, on a sci ship, I'd love to have some tank to be able to support my team. "(/)(&$)/" that, the first thing ppl do on a match is pop the sci ship, its easy.
The reputation system is in place, fine, its nice, yes, but it just adds to the discrepancies in the system that seriously needs a ranked matchmaking system.
The queues are a joke.
Worst is the player mindset, for those who spent money on :Dpixels:D, everyone else is a noob because "its fun watching you pop".
You know who has the last laugh? Those who didnt spend a dime, when its shut down.

1) Players aren't going to change their behavior. That's obvious. This isn't the first game to experience such issues. People are people - they've been doing it for thousands upon thousands of years. Yes, the internet makes it easier - Cryptic makes it easier - it's not going to change.
2) Cryptic isn't going to change anything - other than to find more ways to monetize things. They're selling traits now - there are going to be more lockboxes than stuff they have to put in them, so they're likely to start monetizing all sorts of things...so yeah, I can see them selling weapon mods down the road instead of weapons. They'll sell all sorts of crafting things - and - it will make the situation that much worse.
3) Several folks have voiced concerns over the new ship and requiring the Quads for the 2pc bonus. Then again, several folks have asked where the Quad+ 2pc bonuses are for Disruptors and Phasers, eh? It goes back to #1 and #2...

Your view is refreshing and accurate. They can either acknowledge and fix these issues or run the game into the ground. Sure, they'll make a short term profit selling trinkets. But for how long?

So basically let the bottom rung rule the landscape and "Deal wif it."?

So realistically, you only need to have the exact number of doffs that you need. ~leadme2kirk

Accept it...then make the decision to deal with it or to walk away from it.
I really enjoyed WoW (Vanilla WoW). I even muddled through the changes with BC. I /facepalmed my way through LK. I knew Cata was going to be catastrophic, but I gave them the benefit of the doubt...and a week later when I walked away from WoW after six years.
I really enjoyed EVE. I left that game after five years.
I really enjoyed Shadowbane - even with various issues. I left that game during the Throne of Oblivion beta.
I really enjoyed Ultima Online...I had had enough by Blackthorn's and was gone.
I can name several more games...have probably even forgotten some games.
There's something - there's something you don't like, you can either deal with it or you can walk away...
STO's very close to the walking away thing for me. For now, I'm dealing with it in my own way - generally not giving a TRIBBLE about results, just having that moment of fun here and there...but it's hard to see that I'm doing little more than picking at cracker crumbs on the floor when I could be doing something else with my time.

Up the power drain? You know it already has the highest power drain right?
10 from engines and 10 from weapons when fired with other weapons...
Do you even Science Bro?
You're right, I forgot it takes from the engines as well, was just thinking of the weapon drain by itself. My bad!

It is through repetition that we learn our weakness.
A master with a stone is better than a novice with a sword.
Has damage got out of control?
This is the last thing I will post.
