    Sigh.

Canon for the GAME. Meaning what fits in best.

Trolling with irrelevant pics is childish.

In case you didn't realize, TOS uniforms are Canon Star Trek... they are original ones. The fact that Cryptic never made an established uniform that is standardized across the faction, while selling in the C-Store all walks of actual canon Star Trek uniforms, means the window is open for all. After all, TOS, TNG, DS9/VOY uniforms were used in the TV shows and/or movies.

    It's all fair game.

They had their chance in saying, "THIS is the uniform for this era of Star Trek." Sierra should have been it, but they never did, and offered all kinds of different ones. Even Starfleet NPCs aren't uniform in their attire. So here we are.

Apparently the most common uniform is some variation of "armor" with a sword or firearm slung across the back.

What game is this again?

I read somewhere in game that Starfleet decided to let individual captains select the uniforms for their crew. This makes any uniform that you decide to wear "canon"

After New Romulus was released, I ditched the Sierra uniforms, and made a canon Odyssey uniform, with both a skirt variant and pants variant for female characters, as well as a pants variant and it's for all three careers. (See below.) It is a little unfortunate that this uniform is based off of the Vulcan woman who... brazenly revealed ... you know.

    Odyssey Uniform (Command Variant)

Rank pips are A1, combadge is also A1, I forgot to make it that in my screenshots

Upper - Odyssey (colors are as follows)
    Command Insignia combadge
    H6
    A9
    I16
    I1

    Lower - Odyssey
    H6

    Shoes - Odyssey
    I1
    H1

    Odyssey Uniform (Engineering Variant)

Upper - Odyssey (colors are as follows)
    Engineering Insignia combadge
    H6
    C9
    I16
    I1

    Lower - Odyssey
    H6

    Shoes - Odyssey
    I1
    H1

    Odyssey Uniform (Sciences/Medical variant)

Upper - Odyssey (colors are as follows)
    Sciences Insignia combadge
    H6
F12 for Science, E12 for science
    I16
    I1

    Lower - Odyssey
    H6

    Shoes - Odyssey
    I1
    H1

    Science - http://i43.tinypic.com/29gbvp.jpg
    Medical - http://i41.tinypic.com/j08tq1.jpg

    Odyssey Skirt Variants

Upper - Odyssey (colors are as follows)
    Career-appropriate combadge (see above)
    H6
    (career colors are also above)
    I16
    I1

    Lower - Sierra 2
    H6, I1, (career appropriate color)

    Shoes - Antares*
    All H1

    * = Stockings are optional, what I have shown in my screenshot is sort of a throwback to the TOS medical uniforms.

    Screenshots:

Dreadnought class. Two times the size, three times the speed. Advanced weaponry. Modified for a minimal crew. Unlike most Federation vessels, it's built solely for combat.

Canon is running around looking like a low class Risian S***

I mean really if you're going to look like a W***** at least make your character look good W****.

My problem is not that people can wear whatever they want....My problem is they have bad fashion taste, and think by just putting on the mirror universe uniform and make it look like a bra, and skirt they look sexy....no you don't you look stupid at least accessorize, and try to make it look nice, blend some colors, get creative.

As far as I could make out, or at least in my own little version of STO canon, the TNG movie uniforms were replaced by officers wearing Sierra 1, and crewmen wearing Antares 1. At some point these uniforms were replaced by the Jupiter uniforms, and then more recently the Odyssey uniform became the Starfleet standard. Obviously, as anyone is free to wear whatever they like, this is pretty much just my opinion on the matter, but it's what I went with out of my game experiences.

Incidentally, this is how I have my BOFFs set up at the moment:

From left to right; Flag Officer, Command Division, Engineering/Security Division, Science Division, Medical Division.

This character is why I don't play my Romulan any more. Tovan Khev is NOT my BFF! Get him off my bridge!

    .

we all know this is 'the official' cannon costume.... nothing else is acceptable regulation.

This. Sooo much this. There aren't an adequate amount of keys on my keyboard to express how much I agree with this.

It's always been this for my guys (though not in those colours, it's just the only picture I can find)

That said as soon as they can get the Oddysey uniform these days, they do.

Whats fascinating is that the only fraction which has a unified uniform are the Romulan Republic with their wild west free from the chains of the oppressor charme. And considering how they are shown in the story I assume they, while having this, would feel by far more natural by saying "Ok, thats our uniform, but don't bother to much an take what your crew feels most comfortable with; its not like we are TalShiar" than starfleet.

I would love to see Cryptic descide on a unified style in starfleet uniforms; prefereable one that could be choosen as fleet uniform if one desires so. (so no "requires a T3 starbase to wear" or similar silliness, regardless of how cool it looks)
