Crash when changing bridge officer uniforms

as the title suggests i keep getting an immediate crash when trying to change my bridge officers uniforms and gives me a cryptic error that automatically disappears whenever i try to put some information in there and send it. its happened twice now just after commissioning an officer and changing uniform.

    There is a "known" problem regarding visiting the Tailor and getting a CTD when attempting to select a Bridge Officer. There are a number of other threads regarding this particular issue already in case you wish to look for further information.
