What ever happened to the Andorian Battlecruiser?

We got an Andorian Escort, its all right, but some of us are still waiting for the original ENT version.

At one point there had been talk of it being a broadsider, another time there was talk of doing a founder's of the federation pack, so whats going on with it now?

Any chance we'll see it? In the near future? The D'Kry was released a long time ago, supposedly the art has been done for the Andorian Battlecruiser for almost as long.

Anybody else still waiting for this ship? What do you want it to be? Cruiser, Escort, Destroyer?

    Seconded!

I know on paper the new andorian escorts are nice, and all, but they look ugly as sin, with their box-like structure. They don't do justice to the elegant shape of the Andorian Battlecruiser.

I'd like to see something more like a KDF Battlecruiser, where it can run cannons if you want, but won't be as nimble as an escort (give it 10 or 11 base turn, like a K'Tinga).

I'd love to have one that actually looks like a battlecruiser. I know, I know, that's an outdated design form an earlier day, but something very similar is probably still in service. Look at the Klingons! Still rocking Kamarags and K'Tingas at the fleet level. Look at the Feds, still rocking science ships, Enterprise-C retrofits, and the like all from tiers 1 and 2. I think we could easily have an Andorian Battlecruiser Retrofit.

And Cryptic: No need to make it some BS 3-pack. Just a solid, single, good ship. Maybe give it a couple universal BOFF slots, like LT TAC, LtCMDR ENG, ENS Sci, and CMDR and LT universal slots

(or if that's against policy -- the CMDR slot I mean -- make the CMDR engi and the LtCDR universal)

My recollections are that Geko said we'd get an Andorian Escort and a Tellarite Battlecruiser, not Andorian; and that the Tellarite ship could be a broadsider - assuming they got the broadside to work properly. That would finish off the Founders group of ships: Vulcan Science, Andorian Escort, Tellarite Battlecruiser, and Humans have versions all 3 ship Classes.
STO is about my Liberated Borg Federation Captain with his Breen 1st Officer, Jem'Hadar Tactical Officer, Liberated Borg Engineering Officer, Android Ops Officer, Photonic Science Officer, Gorn Science Officer, and Reman Medical Officer jumping into their Jem'Hadar Carrier and flying off to do missions for the new Romulan Empire. But for some players allowing a T5 Connie to be used breaks the canon in the game.

Bah, tellarite? Look, Cryptic, you don't NEED to make a ship for every race. Not all the races had navies. Not all had their own warships. Most of the hundreds of planets in the Federation are peaceful and rely on the Federation to protect them.

Tellarites definitely do NOT need a ship in this game. On the other hand, Andorians are a proud warrior race with a long history of self-developed spaceships and warfare. Never heard of this "Andorian Escort" -- but they sure did have Battlecruisers! I'd like to see one of those.

Tellarites are a Founding Race, and yes, they had warships. They were fighting the Andorians with them. :)

And don't get hung-up on the name "Battlecruiser." What it means in the game and what it means in canon are 2 different things. :)

The last I recall hearing was talk of potentially doing a founders of the federation three pack with a Vulcan, Andorian and Tellerite ship in it.

My understanding was that it would contain the 3 ships discussed above, only it would be at a discount due to buying them all at once. I'm too lazy to go back a year and look up the podcast to verify, though. :)

I think ships referred to as "battlecruisers" in the Enterprise era were mostly the size of escorts like the Kumari. The version we have in game is just an updated 25th century version of that ship about the same size so it ends up being classed as an escort.

This guy gets it. Check your stats, the Kumaris we fly are the same size and compliment as the "Battlecruiser" from ENT, the power of creep of history just means they're just escorts now, like how the T34 Tank would be wholly inferior to an Abrams or Merkava now, despite winning a world war in its hayday.

...Which is a shame, because it'd be nice to have a Fed battlecruiser to play like a KDF char, but knowing that you're the comfortable second favorite of the devs and not the adopted step child their girlfriend brought along that they see the kdf as.

I'm all for more andorian ships though, they're my favorite race. And purple kumaris are a crime against god, it's what made me stop flying mine. Give me that metallic texture already, even my trusty Jem Hadar set covers it in purple splotches :(

A founders of the federation 3 pack would also be awesome. Tellarite ships look good, and we could use an alien cruiser seeing as the vulcans have representation on the science branch and andorians on the tac branch. There's something comfortable about that idea, the trinity of three exotic ships for each of the three roles, representing a founding member of the federation, instead of nothing but all these human-sourced saucer designs. Nevermind that the URL is labeled "Arkonian ship," the model was reused for both species and I think a xindi species too.

Edit: And the guy talking about the Kumari's boxy shape was spot on, too. I clicked the ABC link like "...I don't know what he's talking about, they're not that dissimilar- OH MY GOD OURS ARE FRANKENMONSTERS IN COMPARISON TO THAT BEAUTIFUL MACHINE" The actual ship from the show is a work of art, why couldn't they have just completely ported that model?

+1 to a new andorian ship, especially a good offenive fed cruiser.

+1 to new mechanics, such as broadsiding.

and of course, +1 to more andorian stuff in general, since they are awesome. Would love andorian themed ground stuff too, eg uniform and weapons.

Love the look of the current Charal though.

PS would really like to Elite Fleet Andorian Phasers, since right now they only go up to advanced. Anything is preferable to another pointless DMG mod.
